Ok... I'm understanding the patch changed a bit better now!
So after about a week of more playing post-patch, I'm understanding the changes better.
TLDR - it's all about the corner pressure.
F-HP - as it's changed to -3 on block, you can very safely poke an opponent with it in the corner. Almost any retaliation by the opponent sets you up for a juicy whiff punish, counterhit, or just block. Watch out for DI. Either bait it with jabs or st.mk (DI safe), or buffer SA when you poke with f-hp.
HP-HP - the tumble on non-poison allows for different corner combos, but more importantly, new Oki situations. And what Aki player doesn't like more Oki routes to confuse their opponents?? My recent go-to is, after HP-HP, juggle into CR.hp. framekill with cr.mp for an auto-shimmy or throw 50/50.
Lastly, the OD bubble-follow up, poisoning the opponent on block: use it in the corner, about 1/4-1/3 screen away. Once they're poisoned, your next can-opener opportunity will land you that big poison DMG combo!

New player
Hiya! i'm newer to the game and thinking about picking up Aki, does anyone have any tips for some just starting?
