Hi everyone, my bf wants to buy a AP x swatch because he thinks that it could be good to resell is this true? It’s selling right now for 500-600 in stores but the resell right now is 1.8-3k. He wants to keep it for a while thinking the resell will keep going up but I was also reading the moons watch people thought the same thing but the value went down after the first type. I stood all night outside the Swatch store last night, queued for the new collab.
When the store opened, they told us that there’s only 15 pieces, but they sold only 14, and for the 15th, it was between two women and the store manager couldn’t figure out who to sell to, then they both left without a watch (on their own will). So I stepped in, and asked why can’t I buy it (I was next in line) and got no reply. The watch was there, me and my wallet were there, but they didn’t sell me the watch.
Do you think that’s fair? was it supposed to be like that?
I feel like I got scammed and wasted a whole day in my life just standing in line to get nothing.
P.S. Still bought a Moonswatch moonphase just because I thought it looks cool.

The funniest part of this whole AP x Swatch release is watching the watch community have a complete identity crisis over it.
Half the people are calling it disrespectful to AP heritage.
The other half are camping outside boutiques for a plastic watch.
Meanwhile AP just got more mainstream attention this week than they’ve had in years.

That seems like pushing it, the most probable usecase scenario I see for the regular Joe is maybe a wristwatch using an aftermarket adapter, hanging off a bag as long as it doesn’t get stolen or playing around with it for a while, posting a few pictures and then in the drawer like all the other knickknacks that don’t get to see the light of day
