Aftermarket Dash Decals
This lettering makes my TL stereo install look a little more OEM.
I found these puppies at an auto parts store while vacationing in Bangkok,Thailand of all places!
Side Note: It's so sad how every poor S.O.B. that buys an Acura from 10 years ago or less really can't really customize and install an aftermarket DIN size stereo. Your ears have to take what Honda audio engineers decide upon and like it 😥.
White Type S 230,000 miles automatic for 4.5 grand, should I buy it?
Like I said there’s a white Type S near me for 5 grand but he said he’d do 4500. Clean title fully stock automatic. The seats are perfect since they were just redone. Timing belt and water pump done twice, second time was done 20k miles ago. Oil changes every 5k miles and brand new tires. The car mechanically is perfect as well with no lights on the dash. Only cosmetic issue are scuffs on the rear passenger side fender, black window lining paint fade and a big paint chip in the front bumper. Would you do 4500?

Any idea Acura heads what I’ll end up making NA with a good tune before slapping Gerzy supercharger? This is for my 2010 TL 6 speed. Been building this for around 4 years almost and will be back on the road in a few months. Here’s most of its parts list.

I need some help with this battery light on my dash
So one day my ac stopped working and I used to have to slap the bottom of my glove department to make my ac cut on so I assumed it was my blower motor but before I purchased a replacement my ac stopped working completely and the slap method wasn’t working anymore so eventually I purchase the motor but before I installed it I tried turning on my ac again just to being curious and seeing what it would do instead I gotta battery light on my dash that won’t go away alternator and battery is working fine and has correct voltage so I’m really confused on wtf is wrong I replaced the motor anyways but still no ac and still have this battery light
Insurance Costs
I’m getting new insurance, how bad is $150 a month for liability? I‘m 22, have 1 ticket for 65 mph on a highway. My daily commute is Route 210 and 228 in Maryland, which if you’re familiar then you already know how that goes.

So for those who hadn’t seen the post at https://www.reddit.com/r/shouldibuythiscar/s/IDGK1Y4VH5 basically I was contemplating buying this 2004 Acura TL for $1200. When I met up with the guy, I talked him down to $700. The oil dipstick was broken so we opened the oil cap and it looked like chocolate milk(head gasket) so we bought it for $700. Opened the dipstick today and found no chocolate milk. The car started up just fine and there was no white smoke that came out. The check engine light also went away. When you close and tighten the gas cap, you’re supposed to turn it at least 3 clicks or the CEL will come on. When I bought it, it wasn’t in the same position as those 3 clicks(possibly triggering the CEL). Came up just nicely on this purchase.
Electrical issues
About a year ago I bought a 2003 Acura tl about a year ago and I have been trying to chase down a wirring noise ever since I got the car. For some context the car has an aftermarket radio it’s a xdvd269bt other than that and a custom harness (was a mess when I got it fixed all the wiring) there’s nothing else done would the head unit cause the noise?
New radio install but..
My tweeters and rear speakers aren't working. Everything appears to be plugged in but I'm not sure what's happening. 2008 type s
A second Type S? Questions
Hello guys, this is probably my third post here now.
About 5 months ago you guys gave me the nod to purchase a higher mileage 08 Type S (above, PFA) The car has been an absolute dream for me in terms of reliability and functionality. There has been another one posted in my area that I am going to look at tomorrow or some time this weekend.
This is another “miley” example at 207,000 but the car is in even better shape than mine was. The only hangup for me is mine had a crate transmission put in it 40,000 miles before I bought it, and the car I’m looking at is on its original still.
With the current physical condition of the car and the guy’s transparency with answering my questions, I feel like there’s a high probability this car has been taken care of just as well as the seller claims.
My MAIN QUESTION is, how much longer can I expect out of the original transmission of this vehicle? Of course I am going to test drive it. Even if all is well, am I still on borrowed time? I know the Type S transmissions were built a little better than the first few years of production, but just HOW much better are they?

What is the sound coming from my 2012 Acura TL SHAWD? Starts around 30 miles an hour and gets louder with speed. Sounds too low pitch to be propeller shaft noise.

Which one would you pick?!
So I’ve been looking at two TLs and can’t decide. First one is a 2005 Special Edition 6MT, 240k miles, negotiated down to $3800, seller has a USB with all the service records, timing belt done recently, says it runs and drives flawlessly with no lights or sounds. Second is a 2008 3.2 automatic, 313k miles, $2500, no rust, timing belt done at 235k, new brakes/struts/tires/wheel bearing.
Is the extra $1300 worth it for the SE 6MT or just grab the cheaper auto and call it a day?

My neighbor has this acura for sale for awhile it pretty beat up but the engine sound good no check engine light does need a oil change the infotainment system doesnt seem to work buy he will sale me it for $350 i figure i cant lost much at that price i have 2020honda insight as my daily driver but domt know much about acura other than they are hondas just more expensive any recommendations of how i should approach the car for getting it road worthy i know i will need to put some money into but things i can do make sure i be able to keep and operate care for longevity has clean title
What to test to verify a bad A/C compressor
2005 TL 102k miles. I noticed that the ac was working intermittently all day. It Blew cold then warm air on and off. Then suddenly it blew all warm air. My initial thought is my Freon is low. Went to a local guy that recharges Freon and tells me that my Freon wasn’t low. The A/C compressor still didn’t kick on. How could I trouble shoot to verify that the ac compressor is indeed the issue? I’ve checked switched out the relay by the intake but that seemed fine. Thanks in advance!
