Hit a rough patch

Hi, as the title states I've hit a bit of a rough patch in life, my boyfriend is leaving for the month of August and I'll be responsible for the care of the house as well as the bills. I'm concerned because I've been overextended on affirm payments for the last couple of months and I've been trying to pay everything down. I don't want to miss payment but I also have to be able to feed myself and pay the electric, water, and rent bill. I know I got myself into this mess and I'm slowly getting myself out, but any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Question about Hilton hotels

Found out today Affirm cards expire so I have a non refundable reservation with Hilton and according to them, I was never going to be able to use Affirm because they require payment in person at time of check in. Is there a way to create another Affirm card and pay at check in or will that card only work for an online purchase through booking.com?

Question

I have been using affirm since March for concert tickets and I am about to be a month overdue because I have other bills to pay for. Since it says that if its a month late, it would be considered a negative credit report to the credit bureau. I’ve seen many posts here say either it didn’t happen to them or it affected them later on. Can I know what the truth is or if that’s the truth at all? Thank you.

Purchasing Power

Hi everyone!

So I am giving extra payments or larger payments on my loans and out of the nowhere I only have purchasing power at select stores and the purchasing power I used to have in general seems to be gone. I pay all of my payments on time or before the due date. I feel like Affirm is punishing me for trying to pay off my loans early. Has this happened to anyone else?

Doesnt even matter in the end

6 years of using affirm, had north of 6000 buying power and all of a sudden reneged that to a ZERO because apparently I have "no credit history."

Oops sorry I paid off my debts.

Ope sorry im responsible. Guess thats not good enough.

So now im not even qualified to use this stupid app even with six years of payment history and early paying off, it doesnt even matter in the end. They dont care that youre debt free, which is scummy.

So if you decide to not be dependent on credit cards, you can kiss using this service goodbye. What a joke.

What was the first thing you used your first affirm loan...

What was the first thing you bought or paid for when you got your initial affirm loan? Looking back, was it worth it? For those who have paid off all their loans, what was the last thing you bought or paid for?

- I bought new tires from Walmart in June of that year. Ended up refunding them. 6 months later, got another loan for those same tires lol.

Was it worth it? I guess 🤷. It served its purpose. Even though when I went to get an oil change the mechanic tried to sell me tires. He said mine had bubbles or some s*** like that. I was looking confused and I guess he was in a bad mood because he said something to the effect of 'you don't understand me' but with an attitude. After I repeated the word 'bubbles'? I mentioned I just bought them. Even if they had bubbles the way he answered me I wasn't about to buy nothing from him lol. Needless to say I kept the tires with 'bubbles and all' until it was time to change them again.

Last thing (not too sure) was something from either Amazon, State farm (when it was listed.) or AT&t. However, I did apply for a one time used card for something very very important and they left me hanging lol. So they couldn't approve me at this time. Anywhoooo, having applied for any new loans nor do I think I ever will anytime soon at least. Had a balance of $8,000 and finally got it down to about $1500.

I had $700 of purchasing power

4 days ago I had $700 of purchasing power. I started a new plan for $200 and opened the app today to nada. I have 3 active plans on my account. I’ve never been late and actually pay them early sometimes.

Affirm, why is you trying to get me into more trouble?

Just made a $500 payment yesterday on a $3,500 0% interest loan and now they are offering me more trouble... They are super forgiving of my recent transgressions where I settled for half of original amount financed.

Edit:
To those who say ignore it or don't use it, I don't really have anything I want to buy right now. I'm just posting because the Affirm algorithms don't make any sense and I wanted to share that small detail.

My job gives me a $10K bonus every 3 months on top of a $15K yearly bonus so I use affirm to buy stuff on sale at deep discounts that randomly show up on my radar. The $3,500 loan is to buy a couple of items that normally sell for $5,000. These items also provide experience in my field of science and technology.

A transgressions are me purposely trying to game Affirm into taking less money than what I owed. The other weird part is that my credit dipped 30 points but recovered 100 points after I paid them off and then use the paid invoice to successfully dispute and have the negative items removed from credit reports.

Not sure if I need to do anything

Hey all!

I started yesterday with 11k+ purchasing power. I made a larger furniture purchase for about 9k. Everything went through just fine in store. Later last night I got a rejection email. Plan is showing up in the app as pending. Is this an issue that I need to handle?

UPDATE: Okay… so I talked to Affirm. They’ve assured me that everything is fine and I don’t need to take any action. And yet… why do I doubt them?

I’ll update again when/if there is an issue. Or… if by some miracle it’s actually fine.

Someone made an account using my SSN

I tried to make an account and it denied my phone number. I figured maybe I made an account before and forgot about it, so tried to locate an account under my SSN. Turns out there is one but it's under an email address I do not recognize. Soooooo someone made an account using my SSN. Who knows how long it has existed for.

I checked my bank account and thankfully no transactions have been made, but this is still a very concerning security risk.

I tried to call support but they just asked for my information (other than my SSN) and told me there's no active account with that information... Great. 😒 I've filed a suspicious activity report but I'll have to wait a couple days to hear from them.

What should I do? Should I file a police report?

Email stating I need to relinquish account.

Has anyone else gotten this email from Affirm? It says I need to relink my bank account because of a technical issue, but when I logged into my Affirm account directly (not through the email), everything looked normal. My bank account is still linked, and there are no alerts or notifications in the app. The email appears to come from the same Affirm email address that normally sends me legitimate emails, so I’m confused. Is this a phishing scam, or did anyone else receive this?

Why I'm done using affirm

All I needed was a little bit of help and this is what I had to go through. Not only that, after I had been closed out time after time. My purchasing power dropped from 1570 to 170 I'm guessing the agent did that after I asked for just help. I wish there were somewhere I could make a formal complaint about this. I complete all my installments just to be treated like nothing. I ended up fixing it myself but it was damn near impossible to find the section for it. I still can't believe my balance is that low, I wish I had a screenshot of the amount before but trust me I had a lot higher balance.

Are you serious? The unprofessionalism is baffling!!! So rude. Wasted two hours.

I just dealt with affirm for two hours going between different representatives who were just supposed to help me cancel a dispute.
But instead of helping me they would take their time doing whatever while I'm waiting in the chat, so I'd leave to go respond to a message or something and I'd come back within 3 minutes and they would say the conversation ended due to whatever and I'd have to start a new one. (under 5 mins)
At first I shrugged it off and thought maybe I lost track of time. But after doing the math once it happened again, I started getting an inkling that these “representatives” have control on if you can use the chat system.

I must have pissed KEA and HON off because then when I started questioning why this kept happening they would cancel the chat. Me starting to really get irritated because suddenly I wasn't able to make *any* new chats or when I did it was suddenly saying “chat ended” and I would have to keep restarting. To no avail It got to the point where I had to call and speak to a manager. The manager said that isn't normal and shouldn't be happening and an investigation will be starting.

Purchase power

I have a purchase power of 680 and I used 360 of it. Affirm offered the affirm card and I ordered it and then all of a sudden they took my purchase power. Why?

Help understanding approval process

Hi everyone!

I have gotten a loan thru affirm before, and paid it off a little bit early.

Yesterday I bought an iPhone from Apple using affirm. And it was accepted. I realized after, I put the wrong shipping info, so I contacted Apple and they said to cancel the order, and re do it.

So I did that, and waited a couple days for my down payment money to be put back into my account.

I have the down payment back, and in the affirm website it says the Apple loan was cancelled, and refund send. All good.

But when I try to make the purchase again, it’s declined and not giving me any information on why.

It’s the exact same phone, same price, same info, same everything but it’s declined 48 hours later.

My credit is pretty good, not amazing. But the fact it was accepted 48 hours ago no issues, and now it’s being denied without any reason given.

Anybody know why this is the case? Or anything I can do to help it get accepted

Affirm collection debt removal

Has anyone had any luck having affirm delete a collection from the credit report? Two years I went delinquent on my affirm payments while I was in the hospital with my son for two months. They called me asking for payment stating the account was going into collections that day, I paid the entire balance in full that day. I asked the rep if it would still go into collections and she said no. Well it did. Literally states it went into collections on September 20th and I paid it on the 20th in full.
I’m trying to repair my credit and this is getting in the way. Any one have any luck getting affirm to remove in goodwill?
Thank you.
