Melvin, JAN -- JeJe [R&B / Pop / Afrobeats] (2026)

TL;DR: All the way from Lagos, Nigeria. Up and coming artist Melvin, with just an earpiece, iPhone and BandLab, drops his new single titled "JeJe". Show some love

Came across this guy’s post randomly on X and really think he deserves some love. His name is Melvin from Lagos, Nigeria. He made this banger titled "JeJe" using BandLab, an iPhone, and an earpiece. I was blown away because if someone would've just played this for me and said, "Have you heard that new Nigerian artist that's blowing up right now?" I would've undoubtedly believed they deserved all the success they're having. But to my surprise, he’s just a small artist—I think this is just his second song ever released, with the first one being in 2023 (on Spotify, at least)—and has only 90 views on the YouTube video. Look, I had aspirations of being an artist a decade ago so I know how it is; something just told me to make this post. I hope this kid’s dreams come true, and he stays true through the process. I genuinely think Nigeria has another star here folks.

Honestly, I struggled trying to put a single label on this style of music because it fuses so many elements so well. R&B, pop, dance hall and more. It truly is one glorious melting pot. Coining a definitive term to encapsulate this entire vibe is nearly impossible. How about, for now, we just call it Good Music?

BLEND WITH ME ❤️ | Romantic Afrobeat Love Song | Official Music Video

I made a romantic Afrobeat song called “Blend With Me.”

The idea was simple: two strangers meet during a summer sunset, share one unforgettable night, and leave each other changed forever.

I wrote the lyrics and created the visuals myself. Would love to hear what works and what doesn’t.
