New customer, afterpay declining first order attempt

new afterpay customer with a $800 limit. I got afterpay to help purchase something that’s $400. Got to checkout and when confirming it was declined with the “we dont approve every order”.

Why give me a $800 limit? My credit history is fine and I had more than the 25% required

Debit Cards flagging as credit card

So all of a sudden, I tried to purchase some new things from Afterpay, but every single one of my debit cards were flagged credit cards even my direct bank account. So I can no longer use the app. The only thing I could do is probably just pay all my old debt and keep it moving. This is obviously a system error and I tried to talk to customer service but they’re saying that they don’t see anything wrong on their end, but it’s beyond their limitations. I just told the representative to just please flag this and give it to somebody who’s in the security/data coding and see if they find anything weird but what can you do right? Just wanted to give you guys a heads up. :)

How much should I pay?

I have a $1500 credit with Afterpay. I made an eBay purchase last week and now have 1044 left. I need to make another eBay purchase for 600 but it keeps declining the purchase and says I have too many open orders, please pay one off. I only have that one order though. Should I make the first payment of 152? Or do I have to payoff off the whole 455?

Afterpay closed my dispute in Wayfair’s favor after I provided proof I never received the item

I purchased a bedframe on Wayfair via Afterpay. The package delivery date continually got pushed back as it bounced back and forth between their warehouse and random cities in the Midwest. Eventually FedEx listed the package as damaged and sent back to Wayfair who signed for it.

Wayfair claimed they sent a refund on August 3rd but my Afterpay hasn’t adjusted. I filed a dispute since I never received it but Wayfair claiming they sent the money AND it was delivered to me. Afterpay closed the dispute in their favor. I am now stuck paying Afterpay for something I never received.

I’m done with Wayfair and Afterpay

Question

I'm just curious. How is after pay able to make payments in full when we make payments over time, interest free? Aren't they losing more than they are making? R/explainlikeimfive

Multiple attempts with Amazon still no success

I’ve been trying to get something from Amazon for hours now and it’s keeps declining because of “payment revision needed/insufficient funds”. My afterpay limit is 900, the item is 801.59 after tax. I’m going on afterpay, selecting the digital card option for 850 incase there’s any extra fees Amazon might pre charge, and it’s STILL declining. I’ve added a new card 6 different times and it hasn’t even been 24 hours yet so idk why the cards keep failing.

Anyone have this issue?

I’ve seen other posts that are similar but they got it resolved during the second attempt. I’m on attempt number 6. Someone have any other recommendations?

Can't Pay on StubHub, Vivid Tickets, or literally any other service that claims to let me buy concert tickets that way

Can someone please suggest what I should try to do as there's a concert coming up on the 24th and I'm trying to buy 2 tickets for it and the section I would like to be in so I can see the concert well enough is coming in at around $114 for both tickets , but sometimes it might be right over it. Either way my Afterpay balance is supposed to be $125 so even with fees and taxes if it goes up to 124 technically AfterPay should take care of it correct?

It's very frustrating because I have used AfterPay only one time before and that was when I first got access to it and I've yet to use it since as I hate having to owe money in more installations as I'm usually maxed at my Borrowing limit within cash app as well. Heck I even used Klarna and on one site I was allowed to set up some what of a payment thing but it was literally just me pay like $90, and then $8 over the next 8 weeks every 2 weeks. And the other site allowed me to do nothing with Klarna but pay it all at once.

Is there every going to be a time as an adult that we are allowed to work jobs like Teachers where we take on the brunt of Educational reform being attacked in ways people outside of classrooms would not even begin to believe if we told them? We take home the work of the classrooms of 60 kids, most of the time more depending what you teach, and you also take home the trauma those poor kids either cause you and the rest of the classroom because they themselves are going through trauma and don't understand how to deal with it because they're just children or they're probably just going to grow up and be awful people cuz I promise you 90% of terrible adults or more than likely pretty bad kids too and I've seen it over 15 years development is very vital at certain points in people's lives and if they are left behind in certain places whether that be educationally or emotionally with their intelligence they are left to fend for themselves and sometimes fending for yourself turns you into a fighter and you never are able to let that go.

Enough about complaining about work as I sit here and do a two and a half hour training I didn't get done that's due today before I even have to be at work in 2 hours I just want to go to this concert next Monday and I just want to take my friend cuz I told her I'm going to take her somewhere as a surprise and the better seats I could pay them out of pocket but then I'm broke until I get paid again at the end of the month to just pay my rent again I don't understand the point of having the ability to make things and extendable process where I pay it later if I can't even use it? I mean at this point it makes me wonder do I just get really really crappy ticket seats cuz what is she going to say you know oh you took me a free concert but we're in bad seats oh well we're both teachers she'll get it. but it's the first time we're hanging out outside of work together I don't want to make a bad impression not that it would or not that this is like a date or anything but still we need to go out with people you want to have a good time I think we'll have a good time either way but I don't know it just would have been cool to be able to see the stage I'm getting too old I can't see things as well and I also want to talk about this why in God's name are tickets to the pit $291 and some of them are $1,052. I legitimately understand why I haven't really gone to shows lately and by lately I mean in years just about. the last concert I went to was armor for sleep on the like 20th year anniversary of what to do with your dad I felt so old in there because all of us were sitting down nobody was standing up and then before that it was like 8 years ago when Anthony Green was still with Circa Survive and Thrice opened for them and I haven't seen either of those bands since hell Anthony's not even in that band anymore they kicked him out.

This is how I know I'm getting old because I wanted to stop talking about this a long time ago and the more and more I discuss it the more and more angry I get thinking about when Millennials got to go to Warped Tour for $15 to $30 and see 300 to 400 bands in a day if you wanted!!! Take us back because I just watched Amazon Prime show me Warped Tour and I hated every minute of it except for Thrice's performance because it was amazing Silverstein didn't sound too bad either, but still why is Bezos involved in Warped Tour do you guys not have enough money? Do you need to take our money for packages and our happiness?

come back to my original point can somebody please explain to me what I can do to be able to buy these tickets because I'm afraid if I keep waiting like I have put it off for days and days I'm going to not be able to get the ticket in the section I want and we're going to have to settle for the nosebleeds or in this case since it's in a baseball field places called The dugout seating. it said something about when it was rotating and telling me StubHub was thinking about letting me use my own money and credit that I built over these past 38 years my life to allow myself a few hours of happiness as I contemplate on paying $400 for a T-shirt and 75 for a hot dog and a Coke but no it stopped rolling took me to the afterpay page had his hands up like I don't know and then told me something about it couldn't do the installment and something about a 48 hours or later or something and said we could try something else I don't know what else is going to try considering the money's there I have the money to pay the whatever fee or whatever amount beforehand cuz I know that's what it is you can't just expect to use your afterpay for free you got to be able to pay something first I get it. that's why I even tried Klarna in the first place cuz I don't even use Klarna, hey we're going to let me use it in one of the scenarios and I'm going to pay like 80% of them they were going to trust me. Idk man Affirm wouldn't let me, Zip denied, PayPal definitely did, so I'm unsure what to do.

I tried both in the Cash App platform directly using AfterPay, and Afterpays independent app as well. Do you think if I somehow find the card that AfterPay was telling me to place in when checking out in one of the attempts that thisihht bypass them saying I can't, or am I going to have to do the things that I don't want to do and most millennials don't want to do and talk to somebody that works at a cash at place telling me their name is something that I know it's not and they're going to be as unhelpful as they always are? because it said something about like I said 48 hour wait if I wait 48 hours then it'll be what Wednesday or Thursday the concert will be four or five days away I doubt it's going to sell out but on the off chance that it does then I'm at the mercy of scalpers you think scalpers are going to take afterpay probably not so any suggestions here are much appreciated thanks guys have a good day and enjoy your Monday!

Afterpay refunded my order stating Amazon cancelled item, but they didn't?

I ordered an external graphics card (which retail price has gone up another $200 recently after 5 days of ordering) on August 8th, with an estimated delivery date of August 20-22.

On August 15th, I get an email from Afterpay stating Amazon cannot fulfill the order, so they're sending a refund. However, when I check Amazon, the order is still active and is awaiting shipment. There's nothing indicating that it was cancelled at all.

I contacted AP from the app's support, and the responses (I'm sure AI, even though it says it transferred me to an actual Advocate) has responded with the same reply repeatedly, stating I am expected to get my refund in 7-10 business days.

What do I even do, other than play the waiting game to see if it ships? With the recent crazy bump in price, I simply cannot lose this order! AP is unfortunately not helping with this situation at all.

Thanks in advance!

Afterpay is a scummy company that refuses to help scammed victims.

Hello I need some opinions.

My mother got her afterpay hacked and someone or someones made multiple amazon (totaling just under 1000 dollars) orders using her afterpay as the payment method.

She has been in contact with amazon support and afterpay support with more then enough logical prooft that she didn't make these orders but afterpay refuses to do anything!!!

they won't cancel the orders or close the account.

Amazon also refuses to cancel the orders or give any information on the account that made the orders either.

What can we do next? she just got out of surgery a few weeks ago this is the last thing she needs to be dealing with.

she only ever used afterpay for the mechanics bill.

Too many orders?

I had one payment that was late and due yesterday, I paid it off today and several other future payments off and they’re telling me I have too many orders open and that I can only have one order open at a time? So I need to pay off everything until I can use my balance? That’s ridiculous

Endless Afterpay Loop

G’day, from Australia.

Been dealing with Afterpay for a good 4-5 days now.

It started after making a purchase during their Afterpay deals where I utalised their service. I was requested for a security check.

During this check they’ve asked for an ID photograph and bank statements. both have been provided.

They’ve now asked me 4 times after providing it each time for this exact same thing. They keep saying to verify my account I need to provide the last 3 statements of the last 3 transactions.

I even raised a complaint and have heard nothing back.

I just want them to actually open their eyes, look at what I’m showing them and realise that’s what they’re asking for.

I’m at the stage where I’m about ready to tell them to get fucked and just not pay the account back.

I put another $750 on my card a couple minutes before all this happened so I have no ability to spend that as I made a lump payment

Any help would be appreciated - they shut their phone number down and it’s been the worst mistake they’ve made I reckon.

Cheers,
Another Angry Afterpay Customer

Afterpay financial hardship

Hi guys. Unfortunately I think I have to apply for the afterpay financial hardship support. I have been using afterpay for years (probably 8) and I haven’t had a problem (always paying on time or ahead) but I’ve lost my job and can’t make the repayment in 2 weeks. I think I have to apply for the financial hardship support. I live in Victoria, Australia and I was just wondering to people who have had to do this, does it affect your credit score? Thank you

Worst experience EVER

I have been through hell and back with afterpay for weeks now. It all started when I got paid and I made a custom payment within the app of $150, when I clicked to pay I got an error message saying error couldn’t make payment try again so I clicked to pay again and the message came up again then I saw I had been charged $300 which was almost everything I had left once I set rent aside (for context I’m barely surviving on disability payments so don’t have very much once I pay rent and groceries)

so I went to afterpay asking for a refund of $150 so I could afford groceries for the next 2 weeks and they said no as the second $150 went to other orders, out of desperation I went to my bank and asked for a dispute which they approved and paid me back my $150. I started getting emails and phone calls from “cash app” and afterpay saying I needed to pay back the dispute and that my account was going to be frozen till I paid $150 into afterpays account so I went to afterpay support and it was taking DAYS to get a response so I’d make a complaint on the website and it seemed to be whenever I made a complaint I’d get these emails saying I needed to pay $150. I haven’t been able to get a straight answer whether this is real or a scam.

The in-app support is genuinely the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. It has been sooo frustrating. I almost paid this $150 thinking it was real and I just don’t know what’s going on, if it’s a scam how do they know when I make complaints through the support website and how do they know my phone number or email. I wish support was more helpful

Is this app pretty much useless now

I can no longer start orders with my Cash App card, or chime and my regular checking acct is Chase so I barely can use this service anymore. What is the point any workarounds?

Not approving orders

I was randomly chosen for account verifications. They froze my account I immediately got them everything they asked for was unfrozen within 24 hours! However now every single time I try to make a purchase it just keeps saying it can't approve me. Idk what the heck is going on I have never missed a payment and literally just paid my after pay off.

This app is terrible it doesn't even workk

Cant even use anything in the app, trying to verify on my mobile for a week and it just kicks me out back to profile. Sent a ticket over a week ago but no reply. Cannot login on my computer cause it says something is wrong, its like I'm blacklisted or something. I cannot get support or anything. Deleted my account and tried to make another but apparently my email and phone number are in use LOL. Sucks cause it seems like such a good service but apparently it hates me! Off to klarna to see if that works.
