Caring for wild agaves repotted.

Basically i've been getting into plants a bit and the Agave has always been a very cool looking plant to me, im only 20 so dont trash me.

Over the last 3 weeks I've been collecting wild agave pups and adjacent smaller agaves from mother plants near where I live, they are all rooting since when i first had them some had to share pots since i lacked enough pots to have them all in an individual one, now, they are all rooting and i got my hands into some Marginata i believe you call them agaves, they are rough but a kind old lady allowed me to take those pups from her mother plant, it was very uncared for but can't blame an 80 year old woman.

Fast forward a week since the "great repotting" they all are developing roots, some faster than others but all are pushing on yet the leafs and the plants look droopier and drier than normal, my soil is perlite, clay balls and cactus soil.

I was surprised that agaves have very little roots, anyways, i water them once a week usually at around 10pm since the summer heat is hard here, 40° celsius, they get direct morning sun from about 7AM to around 12PM, some more than others but more or less, my questions are the following since chatgpt is more of a yesmen than an actual helper, do i water them enough or over do it?

Do smaller ones need different care? Less sun than the one currently?

Is it normal to look worse? Is it due to root shock ot something?

Chatgot at first said ni watering first week so i did that, then now watered a few days ago but some pots were very dry and i rewatered them, how long should the soil stay dry? For bigger ones and for pups do i do same treatment?

Just overall a guide in when to water, how much sun and all, i know they are sturdy and very durable plants but also plants in pots are more fragile than ones in soil.

Also, for agaves in clay soil is it necesary for me to add some gravel/perlite/draining stuff to avoid root rot or will it endure? Talking about medium sized agaves on my rural home, 38° summer and 5° winter yet ive read clay soil retains water and wet roots with cold is bad.

Thanks

ID check please

I bought this agave which was being marketed as “Agave utahensis v. eborispina”. I’m wondering if this is actually Agave utahensis v. nevadensis. I’m super stoked with the plant either way but want to label it properly. Does anyone know what this is?

The tall death bloom of a Parry's Agave last week on Eubank

Also known as Century Plants (like other Agave), because they take years and years to bloom, then they die. Last 2 pics are tiny birds who were all over the red yucca plants below it.

Help my dads agave

My knowledge of cactus is better than agave and my dad’s been asking what to do w/ his Blue Agave. The leaves are either rolled up or dying on the end. Is this because of lack of water, root bound, or something else?

Propagation help!

I live in Arizona.

I separated this little pup from its mother plant because it rotted due to overwatering. I potted it in a soil mix of regular potting soil, light perlite, light orchid bark, and sand.

I'm a bit concerned because the sand was labeled "play" sand, although it felt and looked like normal, real sand. I'm unsure if it will cause problems or weigh down the soil? It felt a bit dense and like sand you'd find on a beach. The granules were very tiny and similarly sized, if that changes anything.

Is this a soft leave agave, mangave? Something else entirely? I got it at a plant swap but she couldn’t tell me what it is.

A comparison between Mangave 'Pineapple Punch' and Mangave 'Snow Leopard'

'Pineapple Punch' has marginal variegation with a very obvious yellow undertone while 'Snow Leopard' has off-white marginal variegation.

Agave X?

Hey guys, I found an agave at 3985 meters above sea level in southern Peru. Some say it's A. americana, but... I don't know if it is. A specimen documented by locals was 42 years old and never flowered.

And it reached a maximum width of 1.4 meters. That particular specimen died because a tractor ran over it while reshaping the planting field.

What type of Agave?

And how do I tell the difference between Americana and blue Agave? I thought if it has straight leaves it's blue, but I've been told that's not the case.

Anyone know what species of yucca

In north Arkansas. Seems like a death bloom but maybe not bc the plant looks healthy and alive?? Let me know what species or any resources to narrow down species?
