Im sad... again

I played Aion 1 on the korean server before the NA release for a bit. Loved the game... then my pc died on me before NA release and that was it... never got to enjoy tge game.

Fast forward to 2018ish... I build a brand new pc. I play plenty of games and eventually get burnt out and stop gaming.

2026... Aion 2 is released and I start playing again. Can't wait to get home and spend my 2 free days on Aion 2.

Oct 6, 2026... my pc crashes and now artifacts are showing up all over my screen. Games wont launch at all. Won't be able to afford a gpu for quite a while. Seems like some sort of coincidence that my pc dies right around an Aion release.

I'm just a bit sad now, it just wasn't meant to be.

Hey, I thought I'd share a few settings that made Aion 2 feel much better for me, along with a quick explanation of what each one actually changes.

1. Camera Shake - OFF
Much better clarity during combat when your entire screen isn't shaking like crazy.

2. Targeting section - Main Target Upon Attack: ON, Right/Left Click: OFF
This helps prevent your target from constantly switching between things like the boss and adds when you already have something targeted.

3. Target Scanning - Front of Camera
Makes Tab targeting cycle through enemies that are actually in front of you and visible on your screen, instead of grabbing random targets around you.

4. Item Auto Use - HP Potion: 50% + Buff Auto Use Conditions: In Combat
Set your HP potion to 50%, and at the bottom change Buff Auto Use Conditions to In Combat. This way, auto-use scrolls and food will only activate when you're actually in combat.

One thing to keep in mind for melee players: attacking the air is considered combat, so doing that will also trigger your scrolls.

5. Nameplates
   For better visual clarity, I disabled My Nameplate, My Spirits, and Allied Spirits.

6. Pets - OFF
   Same reason. Less visual clutter.

   Again, mostly for clarity. I don't really need tiny numbers constantly popping up over my character.

9. Particle Effect Display - Self Only
   Huge improvement for visual clarity and it can also help performance, especially when there's a lot happening on screen.

10. Boss Orientation Indicator - BACK
    I personally keep this on Back, so I can immediately see where it's safer to stand and where I can deal more damage.

11. Auto Extract - ON
    If you're comfortable with your gear and you don't need greys, greens and blues, just auto extract them.

12. Quick store materials, valuables, manastones
    I keep these things in the bank. You can use manastones straight from there, so they don’t clutter your inventory. The rest is pretty self-explanatory.

The crafting system is honestly one of the dumbest things I've ever seen in an MMO.

Why do I have to gamble with a 25% chance just to progress to the next item tier?

For example, if I want to craft a Yellow glove, I first need to craft a Blue glove and hope it turns Yellow with a 25% chance.

And it doesn't stop there.

You have to start from White → Green → Blue → Yellow, with the same kind of RNG involved at each step.

So basically:

Craft White → 25% chance to get Green
Craft Green → 25% chance to get Blue
Craft Blue → 25% chance to get Yellow

And if you fail, you just go back to farming materials and try again.

What the hell is this? 😂

This isn't a crafting system.

I honestly don't understand what the developers were thinking. They seem to have done everything they possibly could to make players quit the game.

I don't mind grinding. I don't mind farming materials. But when you make the entire progression depend on a ridiculous 25% RNG chance at every stage, the player's time and effort become almost meaningless.

Crafting should reward effort and investment, not make you pray to RNGesus every single time.

This is if you're starting from 0 Quna because after coloring every piece, you'll need 1400 Quna, which is over the 1000 Quna package meaning you would have to buy the $15 Quna package then the $5 package to cover it.

NCsoft, you have shown good faith by allowing all founder's pack cosmetics to be shared across all characters account wide. Huge appreciation for that, great move.

However I think the cost of skin customization is the last big hurdle before the game can be considered truly consumer friendly for players in the west.

Skin customization should ideally be FREE for those that have a subscription, or at the very least cost a non premium currency. It is absolutely unreasonable that players who already pay for a sub and potentially multiple battle passes, plus skin purchases, should be expected to spend such an amount just to dye one set, one time. And if you come away from it not liking the look? Welp, fork over another $20 to fix it. There's not even a grace period where you can adjust it to your liking.

Please NCsoft, I know you're listening, which is greatly appreciated and makes me hopeful for the future of the game. But I do believe there's a bit more you can do to show that you value your customers! The dye system is way too expensive.

Please either include it in the sub/make it cost non premium currency or offer something that gives us unlimited customization over a period of a month or so like BDO does. As of now, the system is atrociously predatory.

I'm absolutely loving the game. I wanna make it my main mmo and support it financially where I can but this is simply unaffordable and egregious. It will not be sustainable long term.

Old school MMO raiding vet, but I just finished reaching level cap and I still feel like I have no idea how to actually play the game or my character. Leveling to cap was fairly straightforward, just follow the lines on the main story. But I feel like there are so many mechanics I know nothing about.

I come from the tab targeting days, big raid window where all 4 groups of players were displayed, multiple hotbars full of skills, but I knew each one of them and what each did, the order to prioritize them, and so forth. Now I've got a single bar where each button casts multiple skills, I feel like I really have 0 idea what each skill does, what ones are good, what ones are bad, or when to use each one. And apparently I'd supposed to set up a macro to run them all, but nothing in game talks about this (I see the macro button, but no explanation) And every video or guide I find talks about 'prioritize this, or you should have that', but none of them actually break it down to put this here, this here, this there, and this there. then click here, here and here. in combat click this and this and that. And from what the game (didn't) teach me I've got no clue how to set it up myself.

I'm supposed to be doing something (or multiple different things) to enhance the gear I get, but aside from stumbling around and clicking a few things at random I have no idea what right or wrong, if I'm wasting materials i should be saving for when i get better gear, or if I'll get tons and i should just blow it all. Theres substance morph, enhance item, manastone, theostone, arcana cards, apparently I actually have stats. I randomly learned this clicking through menus probably 2/3 through leveling, but nothing talked about them, how I even get them, or anything. Pets have a genus insight section that isn't even mentioned, and i have no clue what it does.

Apparently my item level is too low to finish the main story and go to abyss base, but the game has been out 4 days and I go into the dungeon and I already get left behind by people speedrunning to the end so fast i can't even learn what I'm supposed to do, and I'm lucky to just keep up so I don't know how to improve it. And there are seemingly over 9000 difference currencies??? What happened to 100 silver is 1 gold, 100 gold is 1 platinum, and thats it?

Is it possible to actually learn MMO's anymore, or is it just 500 mechanics no one actually understands and everyone just runs around blind?

I don't know if this is just venting frustration, or asking for help. I was excited to get to cap and actually start gearing and dungeons and stuff, but in reality its just left me with no idea what to do because there's so much that's not explained.

EDIT: after reading some peoples advice, it's helped me realize I'm likely feeling so lost because I'm trying to force myself into a style of MMO that really isn't for me just because I want something, and i got drawn in by the hope that this would be it. Long story short, many western and eastern MMO's have significant enough differences that even if they look like they play the same, really don't. TY

If you are still stuck in the 1300s trying to minmax to not waste resources.. just do it. Spend those shugo festival currency on daeva crystals. +5 those crappy blue items you know you'll just replace. Break free of that autism death spiral and get going.

A lot of content creators stressed the importance of hitting 1400 with zero gear upgrades. You are not going to miss the 500k kina and the enhancement stones are completely refundable.

I understand the importance of clearing the feathers, completing the quests; you'll have to do it anyways very soon for 1900 or 2100 gs. It was overall a good message for the greater community to hear. It helped everyone understand the broad concept to focus on vertical progression instead of wasting all their kina. Now I see tons of people stuck at 1300 desperate for advice on what to do.

Just spend the resources. The 6 hours you spent agonizing over how to save would be 100x more effective spent leveling an alt to run duties, expidition and Shugo festival to sell mats to whales before the market gets saturated after October 5.

They really need to simplify it, why do we have to choose a server, click on the screen multiple times, then click on character every time.

Once youve clicked your server make it a default setting, and if you ever want to switch servers make that a manual option, an icon you have to click to expand the server list.

Pretty much the title. I've tried Sunshine, Parsec, and Steam Link, but none of them are working properly. The input just doesn't work.

I can open the game and use the touchscreen normally, but as soon as the server/region selection screen appears, I can't click or select anything anymore. The touchscreen still works outside of that screen, but I can't interact with the game at all.
