Glovebox key
I believe I have the original door and ignition keys. For some reason neither work the glovebox lock. This is on a 67 912. What was the original setup? A third key? Or should the it be keyed to the door or ignition?

This could be the nicest example of a Silver 911 of this generation in the USA - last year of the air cooled - 1998 carrera 993 with 15,000 miles

Most expensive 356?
not sure I’ve seen a 356 go for this much before.
Porsche 904 Carrera GTS. Nurburgring. 2018
Found a distant cousin and an absolutely beautiful example - Porsche 1600
Saw this absolute pristine Porsche 1600 in downtown Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Had to stop and take a couple of pictures to pay tribute. The owner obviously cherishes the car, but drives it as a Porsche should be driven.
1996 Porsche 911 TARGA
1996 Porsche 911 (993) Carrera Targa - 6-Speed Manual
The Ultimate "Barn Find" Air-Cooled Discovery
Up for auction is a remarkable survivor: a 1996 Porsche 911 Targa (993). This is a true "barn find" discovery, recently pulled from long-term storage where it sat undisturbed. As the final generation of the air-cooled 911, the 993 is widely considered the pinnacle of Porsche engineering and driver engagement. This specific Targa model, featuring the innovative sliding glass roof, offers a unique open-air experience without sacrificing the classic coupe silhouette.
Vehicle Highlights:
- Transmission: Desirable 6-speed manual (G50).
- Body Style: Targa (Glass roof operates smoothly with low power/ probably needs service
- Condition: Authentic barn-find state. The paint retains a deep gloss under the dust, and the interior remains remarkably preserved. expect regular wear for it's age.
- Mechanical: The car has been sitting and will require a mechanical recommissioning (fluids, tires, fuel system flush, and battery) before being road-ready. It currently cranks but has not been started for extensive periods to protect the internal components until a full service is performed.
Why the 993 Targa?
The 993 was the first generation to move away from the removable Targa plate, introducing the panoramic retractable glass roof. Finding one in this "raw" state is an incredible opportunity for a collector or enthusiast to oversee a sympathetic restoration and know exactly what they have.
Need help verifying authenticity
Recently uncovered a 1957 1600 356A, need help verifying if this is an authentic Fuhrmann four cam. Not sure if this motor came with the car originally or if it is a Frankenstein. Everything I’ve researched on it is leading to this being the real deal. I don’t know much about these.
Mileage vs. keeping car moving
Hi ya’ll. I am not in the air cooled group, but I have a 2001 986 boxster s with 79k miles. I am inspired by the air cooled group and although my car doesn’t receive the same attention or respect, I look up to how the air-cooled cars have been able to achieve that status.
I’m curious how some of ya’ll are managing miles vs. usage. I know often times people recommend driving the car around once a week and long enough to get the car fully warmed up, but that can easily add up to 2-4k miles a year depending on how long the drive is. After 50 years, this can quickly become 100-200k miles.
For those of you with 30-60 year old cars, how do you manage the balance between adding miles to your beloved car vs. making sure it is driven often enough to keep everything well lubricated etc.? Basically I’m trying to determine if ya’ll have figured out a sweet spot recipe for maximizing longevity.
Thanks in advance ya’ll.
