Did you watch Saving Private Ryan in the cinema of Alabang Town Center or at Festival Mall in 1998?
Even before it was released, the movie was condemned by censorship zealots and anti-war activists over its graphic violence.
Meanwhile, the American war veterans who fought in Europe during World War II defended Steven Spielberg's movie, saying it captured the extreme violence they went through.
I love Sigekiya Ramen's signature ramen here in Alabang. Simply called "Sigekiya Ramen", it is the restaurant's own version of the Shoyu Ramen.
Compared with the Shoyu Ramen commonly served in Tokyo, Japan, Sigekiya's own has a thick, intensely rich pork meat broth infused with soy sauce. Also, Sigekiya makes its own noodles fresh and thick. The restaurant has its origin in Yokohama, Japan.

Way back in 1997, I saw posters of the movie Steel on display during the time I walked through the cinemas of Alabang Town Center.
I never bothered to watch it in the cinema as I already read negative feedback about Steel.
In 1999, I saw it by chance on cable TV and I saw how bad the movie really was. Even though the title role (played by Shaquille O'Neal) was about the DC Comics character, there were almost no references to Superman.
Did you watch this movie at ATC?
Planning to move in Alabang by 4th quarter this year. I really want a place with a lot of green space. Hopefully near to the p2p going to one ayala. Better if near to everything. I'm looking for 1 bedroom but studio is fine too. At least semi-furnished (Bed, AC, Ref, Table ok na - bonus kung may shower heater na din but not really important)
I'm moving from north to south so I really don't have an idea in Alabang. It just got my attention because of the green space.
There was a time when the Big Bang sa Alabang amusement was held in Alabang during the Christmas season occupying the space on what is now Molito. There were a lot of fun rides and the giant slide was the standout entertainment piece.
If you managed to enter Big Bang sa Alabang, how young were you?
Is the Madrigal Avenue branch of Pickup Coffee your favorite among all Pickup Coffee branches in Alabang?
What do you think about the current lineup of arcade games at X-Site Amusement Center inside Festival Mall? Are you a regular arcade player there?
Have you been to the newly opened The Marketplace branch at Molito here in Alabang. It occupies the space previously occupied by Puregold. It is a high-end grocery already serving customers.

Filinvest City Central Park in Alabang is a popular destination for those who want to enjoy the fresh air, open spaces and other forms of relief from the stress they accumulated. It is also a useful place for organizing special events and already many running events utilized the park as a venue. During Christmas season, special activities and musical shows happened there. Do you spend much time at the park during weekend afternoons and/or evenings?
May nakakain na po ba here sa Escobar’s Alabang? Is 10k already enough for 10 pax din? Or are there any resto recos where to eat something nice around Alabang with this budget? Thank you.

Just a serious question (I’m a Catholic, btw; I was only invited to Acts 29 Church in Alabang by my ex-boyfriend and attended about 4 Sundays I guess).
I’m just curious what happened to Acts 29 Church because when I got my first invitation, they were located in a hotel in Alabang. Then their community got big so they opened and transferred in Festival Mall. I think their stay lasted for like a year in Festival Mall.
Out of curiosity, I started looking at the facebook posts of the pastor’s wife and was really shocked at how lavish their lives are. All their 4 kids are attending La Salle Zobel, they were in & out of the country (all of them) going to US (knowing how pricey flight tickets could be).
This made me think, is Acts 29 Church only a BUSINESS for this family? Because, here’s the exciting part:
In 2025, I’ve been seeing fewer post on the page of Acts 29. And from Festival Mall, they were now only gathering at small cafes and restaurants with very few followers (approximately about 15-30 followers every worship). I also checked the fb account of most of the “elders” of the church, and you know what, all of them LEFT Acts 29.
They however, transferred to a newly built church also in Alabang called as “Oaks Community Church”. And the pastor in Acts 29, was nowhere to be seen in any of the Acts 29’s page.
And this smells something fishy. I think the elders left Acts because it’s already becoming a business for this pastor’s family rather than building a Christian community and upholding the values and teachings.
What are your thoughts on this?
This is slowly emerging as one of my go-to coffee spots in Alabang. Their food looks good, too, although I've only tried their grilled cheese sandwich (decent). Di matao, peaceful, and coffee is just the way I like.
Has anyone else tried it here?

Edit: I forgot to mention that D’Baristroe’s minimum spend for parking validation is Php 500; with this, the parking fee is the typical Php 50. Otherwise, you have to pay Php 200. I’m just not sure if the Php 500 minimum applies to all establishments or if it varies depending on the place.
Medjo bummer lang, but oh well.
As I mentioned before, I saw the original Scary Movie at one of the original cinemas of Festival Mall in late-2000. Among all the parody films Hollywood released over the past two decades, Scary Movie (2000) stood the test of time and it still is the best and most entertaining parody film of the 21st century.
