Do A Levels have assignments?
Hii, I have another question about switching from IB to A Levels and would really appreciate some advice from people who’ve actually done A Levels.
I’ve done IB MYP + DP1, and one thing I’m really used to with IB is having a LOT of assignments 😭 — formative/summative work, presentations, coursework, essays, etc. At my previous school, a lot of these assignments actually counted towards our semester grades.
So I’m wondering, how does this work with A Levels?
I’ve heard people say A Levels are easier than IB because most of your actual final grade comes from the final exams, whereas during the year you don’t have any summative assignments that directly contribute to your final grade.
Is that actually true?
Like, throughout a normal A-Level year, how much coursework / assessed work / assignments / presentations would I realistically have?
Are there lots of summative assignments throughout the year, or is it mainly:
learn content → practice questions → mocks (ungraded)→ final exams?
