Season 5

I honestly believe that the episodes after Billy’s death are some of the most well done episodes of the whole show. The way that each episode begins with a voice over from the character we focus on and ends with that same voice over that then shows us who we are going to focus on next is so beautiful to me. It’s just crazy that it took the writers killing off one of the best characters in order for them to get something good.

Are Spencer’s grandparents ever mentioned?

I haven’t been on this sub in a long time, this isn’t important but I’m watching this show again as comfort tv (it’s not the best show ever esp since the writing definitely declined in the later seasons so we just watch it for fun) with a friend now that my college-school year has ended and realizing how the grandparents of the Bakers are very much focused on the show and have all been relevant to the storyline. GW, Billy’s mother Mary who passed away, and Laura’s mother (I forget her name) in the later seasons. It got me thinking that if one of Grace’s or Corey’s parents, even just extended family, were ever mentioned or explained bc we don’t know much about Spencer and Dillon’s other family (I know it’s not a crucial part of the show but still…)

Rewatch – Shawn’s Death

On a rewatch and I miss the old All American so bad. When Spencer was standing at the entrance of Shawn’s funeral, Tyrone tells him how Shawn protected him, how “Spencer has somewhere better to be” actually wasn’t an insult, but endearment. When Spencer realises that Shawn actually didn’t hate him, that moment broke me bro. He didn’t even get a chance to make things right or at least amicable. Bro was proud of him and he never even knew till he was in a casket.
