What kind of genre is this?
Hi, I wrote this song called "Come Back in Silence" and I'm curious what genre you'd actually put this in. Indie rock? Alternative? Grunge? Bedroom Pop? Something else?
"Roots of Light" by TARSIK
The song tells the story of a little girl, alone in the winter cold, whose dreams rise above the harshness surrounding her. Rather than relying on fleeting flames, she draws strength from glowing sparks of hope and the light within her heart. These gentle illuminations guide her through the darkness, like stars leading the way toward warmth and belonging. Though the world may seem indifferent, she remains resilient. In the end, her longing for love and connection is fulfilled—not as tragedy, but as the triumph of belief and perseverance. Her journey lives on as a quiet reminder that even in the coldest moments, the light we carry inside can lead us to the joy we've always imagined.

We are only a small band from Perth, Western Australia, basically one of the most remote cities on Earth 🌎 🦘. We're Night Skies and we're looking for new listeners who want to share or raise awareness on Domestic Violence with our latest single "Wide Awake"!
We'd love to hear what you think of the song, and we'd love to share this to anyone going through a tough time to know you are strong enough, you aren't alone, and you can make it through when things get hard 🤟❤️
We are only a small band, and we dont ever plan on getting famous, we're in it for the love of it, but if you'd like to share or follows us, BIG Thank you for us and anyone who needs to hear this hidden song but it's too small yet to reach them!
Why Music to listen to is actually BMTH’s most important release (and essentially their Kid A)
I've seen a lot of you guys not being... big fans of 'music to listen to'. And I think that's a big shame!
Because I think it feels like their version of Radiohead’s Kid A or Aphex Twin's Drukqs. That much needed palete cleanser.
Yk, if they didn't do the whole 'let's break things and have fun with it' phase I don't think we'd see the POST HUMAN era.
So I sorta ended up putting together a video essay breaking down the album, and how perfection kills modern music:
Really curious to know where this sub stands on that album, or EP, today. Still an instant skip?
"They Say the Sky Is Just a Wall" - new track by Tarsik. Would love your feedback!
open.spotify.comWould love your production thoughts/critique on my new indietronica track!
Too much treble? Too shrill? Or is it rough and aggressive in an interesting way? I feel like I'm getting feedback from friends that are a bit split down the middle on this one. Curious to broaden my survey sample size. I also have stems in a dropbox ready to share if anyone is interested in accepting a nominal fee to do a better more polished mix/master than i can
😘 DM me in you're interested!

Calling Bullsh*t: 25 Most Overrated Rock Albums
While it's not exclusively alternative rock, roughly half of the entries are alternative rock or alt-rock adjacent.
I'm looking forward to more lively discussion. Positive or negative: keep it civil.
WARNING: The post contains some exceedingly hot takes and indefensible positions.

Raw, loud, imperfect — that’s the point
I’ve been pushing my sound to the edge lately — saturated guitars, untrained vocals, everything slightly unstable on purpose. I’m chasing that moment where a track feels like it might break, but somehow stays together.
Does anyone else here look for that in alternative rock? Not polished performances, but the opposite — the take that’s a little too raw, a little too loose, and that’s exactly why it works.
If anyone wants to hear the track I’m talking about, just tell me in the comments and I’ll drop the link.
I’m not a native speaker — hope my English doesn’t sound strange.
