International Voter Drive 2026, for dual U.S.-Korean citizens and other U.S. citizens in South Korea

Hi- I'd like to make an announcement from Democrats Abroad, the official overseas branch of the U.S.-based Democratic Party with a chapter in South Korea. Since an extremely important election is coming in November, we're hoping to register more dual U.S.-Korean citizens and other eligible U.S. voters who live in South Korea.

We started our International Voter Registration Drive for 2026 with in-person and online events. If you know any eligible US citizens, they can register and request a ballot. Just send them this link: https://voteabroad.org/RedditVote26. As long as they'll turn 18 by election day, they're eligible.

If anyone wishes to learn more about what we're doing near you, you can find out more at https://www.democratsabroad.org/kr. We have regular in-person meetups and events online. If you have any questions about overseas voting or what we do, feel free to ask in the comments below.

Is Black Oasis Halal or Haram on Jo Fatwa? 🧐

Why do these people lie in other posts when the search was so easy?

They declare something haram off “someone told me.” When almost 100% of the time that someone knows nothing about the industry or deen for that matter. Read the fatwa first. And if you have real proof of fraud, deceit, or inflated debts, post it.

I’ll leave these screenshots for you guys to read or you can search it yourself.

Job salaries

i live abroad and i really want to move to jordan where i feel its home, i have studied there for 5 years and could not adapt back where my family is. i just want someone to help me tell me how much salary should i expect if i started applying there? i don’t want to tell my parents about this before making sure i’ll be 100% independent. i am a psut graduate with one year experience as a developer. i want to know what is the range i should expect and if i will be able to rent a place by my own and allowance.

Is Black Oasis Halal❓

I want to end this debate once and for all.

working at BlackOasis is halal, yes. And working there as a sales rep is halal too. The fatwa is in the screenshot above, and you can Google it for yourself.

If you still think it’s haram, search for the fatwa yourself, because you can’t say something is haram based on “someone told me.” Hopefully this settles it so people can decide about their rizq based on facts, not rumors by bots.

Anyone committed to adopting this sweetheart?

I found her outside and she was so beautiful and friendly so i took her home but i have 2 cats already and they are not accepting her. They bully her and hit her and she’s so sweet she doesn’t even defend herself and just hides.

I would really really like to keep her bc she’s so beautiful and her personality is soooo cute! She’s very cuddley, and very playful, and she chirps a lot (as in she does these tiny little meows and squeaks). She loves people and children and other cats. But she would be happy in another safe and loving home without two adult cats beating on her.

I just got her last week so shes not vaccinated or spayed. If anyone is interested in adopting her, i’d like to be able to check on her (by message) every now and then

Maybe you’re already a liberal but you just never called yourself one.

What does “liberal” actually mean?

It’s not about being Western.

It’s not about hating religion.

It’s not about being left-wing.

And it definitely doesn’t mean agreeing with everything other liberals say.

For us, it starts with a simple idea:

Your life belongs to you.

You should be free to speak your mind.

Free to choose your career.

Free to start a business.

Free to practice your beliefs.

Free to disagree with the government.

Free to live your life without interference as long as you don’t violate someone else’s rights.

And when you deal with the law, your family name, tribe, wealth, connections, or social status shouldn’t determine your rights.

Economically, we believe competition and free markets create opportunities, encourage investment and innovation while the state still has a responsibility to protect people who are vulnerable or marginalized.

Politically, we believe power should be limited, accountable, and ultimately answerable to citizens.

That’s what we mean when we say Jordanian Liberalism.

We’re not trying to import a Western identity and paste it onto Jordan.

We’re trying to ask:

What would a Jordanian society look like if we put individual freedom, citizenship, equality before the law, and justice in opportunities at the center of it?

We’re building a community around that question.

Maybe you agree with us.

Maybe you disagree with half of it.

Maybe you’ve never thought about it this way.

Either way, we’d like to hear from you.

And if you feel like these ideas represent you or you simply want to explore them with people who think similarly, send us a DM and get to know us.

We hold weekly meetings, and you’re welcome to come meet the people behind the community, ask questions, disagree with us, and see for yourself what we’re building.

Maybe you’ve finally found your people.

I’m from Europe and work in Amman. Why is everyone a snake here?

Quite literally. I work in a local place here, I won’t name exactly where. but in my few years of working here and meeting a lot of different colleagues, why do particular people (like assistants of the boss or people from certain roles) HATE or make things SO bad for people who actually work hard and make things better for the company? There’s a high turnover of staff where I work, they mostly either resign or get fired for faults not of their own. This country has the most snake behaviour I’ve ever witnessed in my entire life. I’ve finally connected and became good friends with a new colleague of mine, but she’s literally hated by the boss because of some poor/ horrible comments made by the boss’ assistants etc. I’m sick of it. I’m tired of watching people struggle everyday with toxic behaviour they’re forced to endure because they simply need to feed their family. I have never seen anything like it. Rant over.

Amman Big 4 and/or deloitte employees, I think I shat the bed with the salary expectations question.

For an associate role, I have less than 3 years of experience and I answered the salary expectations question with 600-650 but the interviewer shared with me the actual salary, 920++. Now did he have a range and gave me the lowest since I answered with lower or is it standardized ??

Liberals in Jordan

Maybe you’ve been looking for people who think like you.

We’re building a growing liberal community in Jordan for people who believe in freedom, individual rights, equality before the law, and having a real voice in shaping our country.

And we’re not stopping at conversations.

Our ultimate goal is to build a full-fledged liberal political party in Jordan so that our ideas don’t just stay online but have a real voice in public life.

And no, you don’t have to be a political person.

You might be into business, law, technology, arts, culture, economics, education, social issues, or something completely different. We’re building different committees around different interests, and you can contribute where your interests and skills actually are.

We’re looking for people who think independently, care about their country, and want to help build something from the ground up.

If you’ve ever thought, "Surely there are more people in Jordan who think like me. " Come find us.

Anyone up for a meetup in Amman tonight? 🇯🇴🌍

Hey everyone! I’m in Amman and looking to do something social tonight instead of staying home 😂

Thinking about grabbing coffee, walking around, playing board games, or just hanging out and meeting new people.

I’d love to meet a mix of locals, expats and travelers — English/Arabic, different cultures, doesn’t matter.

If anyone is interested, let’s choose a place and time in the comments and make it happen tonight.

Maybe around 7–8 PM somewhere in Jabal Amman / Weibdeh.

Feel free to comment or DM me 🙌

Im i the only one who think this place seems to be fishy ?

Dna opend a couple new branches in iraq and i worked for them for a little while then i quit because the management where literal scumbags and i had a really bad feeling about them , the ceo was Jordanian and it feels like he ran away from jordan for a reason does anyone here heard the name yazan haj hassan before? And what type of activitieshe associated with , it kept me wondering how such a place immediately opened a couple of branches in a new country by selling overpriced stuff
