Assuming the show is cannon, (which it might not be so take it light on the theory) the show's timeline likely takes place in the far far past since they have no knowledge currently of Stickmin, calling them aliens. We know that crewmates and stickmin at least have a familiarity with each other since they have photos of them, have mini versions of them, work in their Maps, and even imitate their art.

Could this either be replacement or cute imitation mischief while on the job? I don't know.

What also supports my theory is during the party they have party hats with the numbers 2019 which can't be a reference to when either of these properties came out, since Among Us came out in 2018 and Henry Stickman collection came out in 2021, with prior games being released as far back as 2008 on newgrounds.

My personal headcanon is is that crewmates are like minions in a way, and are universal workers hired for specific missions (likely through Mira or something) and only higher up crewmates, more trained and equipped, like captains access to knowledge to supposed, aliens? like stickmin?

And what really compels this theory for me, is that the missions that crewmates seem to go on in the games appear to be way more dangerous than the ones mentioned or seen in the show. The imposters in the game seem to be way more prevalent and powerful, along with crewmates going on continuously more dangerous planets, like Polus (which is named after a character in Henry Stickmin!!!) and Fungle.

The crewmates in the show only seem to have traveling colonies on very small planets, compared to the entire research centers they have in Polus.

One thing I like to mention is in the game the blood of the crewmates for a while used to be red, until Among Us went global, and they had to numb it down for other countries age ratings, making it the color of the crewmates suit. The insides of the crewmates are also the same color but slightly darker. The Among Us show seems to use red blood all the same. They also make no mention of Polus or any other planets except what's seemingly their home planet?

I think this all points to the Among Us show being an old version of Among Us, or just set very early in the timeline. (assuming if the show takes place in the same timeline)

S2, E1:

We cut to a week after "Green" (or rather the parasite that used to be him) is killed and the Skeld reaches Industria. The workers of Industria ask obvious questions like "where is your crew?" and "Why is there a hole in the ship?" Red and Purple know that if they tell them the truth, no one would believe them (as alien imposters invading your ship is probably not a common occurrence) so they nervously say that the crew is "partying" after the successful mission.

The workers fall for the lies (as they are just bored and don't want to anger a MIRA captain) but the Ore+ needs to be extracted immediately and Red can't stall for any longer. "Red, this is a problem" Purple whispers" "No Bigge!" says Red so loudly that the entire work force next to the Skeld hears it. "Ok, lets run" Red whispers back to Purple.

As they run, Most of the work force chases after them while a small search team infiltrates the Skeld and finds the dead bodies of Blue, Lime, Black, Cyan, White and Brown (not Orange and Yellow as they got ejected), the ore+ gone and pink goo everywhere. We cut back to Purple and Red trying to run but eventually getting away by entering an old, dark factory, "Black would've liked this..." says Purple "Welp, at least there isn't anything creepy in this suspiciously cold, old and dark factory!" says Red. When they find the light switch and turn it on, they see bones and skulls of past workers that have been dumped in a place no one would see. Just as they see the true horror of MIRA's work sites, they get caught...

The Final shot is of Red and Purple talking to MIRA board members, who care about the Ore+ more then the bodies of all but 4 of the crew members. They are tempted to sign an NDA like before, Red hesitates, but after one look for Purple he says "No" to MIRA for the first time.

MIRA, Enraged at Red and Purple not signing the NDA like expected, sentences them to the most harsh, underfunded and dangerous outpost in the galaxy, The Polus Outpost...
