All of these figures were displayed in my previous apartment before the move. I never realized how painstaking reboxing them would be until now. It probably didn’t help that I tried to put back all of the protective plastic films in place.
On the bright side, it was pretty satisfying to unbox them all over again.
Side note: there’s a bootleg hiding among us, can anyone spot it?
Context : I had an account with 20+ 5 star reviews that was about 8 years old. Usually selling collectible items from pop culture or manga, such as books, statues and figurines. I also had several figurines that were kind of NSFW (think waifus in maid or lingerie) and I had been already temporarily banned because using photos from internet. Then I put again the same listings this time with the photos blurred on the figurine (even though the girl is "dressed", I blurred the bra or panties for example). And they simply perma banned me. It's honestly kind of tedious to do all this work of editing and blurring each singular photo. I've even seen photos of the same figurine from other sellers where people would either not blur anything and still have the listing up, or some would add a big ribbon going around the figurine to hide the "spicy" details.
I never know Vinted was so hardcore on perma banning accounts like this, it's honestly quite crazy.
I use other platforms like Leboncoin, discord, Ebay, etc. and never EVER had such problems like this, it's completely crazy situation for me.
Anyway, I've got a new phone, new number, different SIM, and planning to take new photos. I've created a new account with different name, different bank details. I connected to 5G hotspot to create the account, somewhere outside of my house. Could I also use my home WIFI if I reset my router to change my IP in my home ?
Obviously somewhat subjective, but if one looks at old figures, they're often... lacking. Evangelion figures where the eyes don't look like they're in the same direction. Oh My Goddess figures with plastic that discolors over time. Really rough paint jobs, etc.. Only some of the really high end ones of the 00s compete with the budget figures of today.
So, in your opinion as a collector, at what points did the quality uptick noticeably? When do you say, 'ah, that's when the good stuff really starts coming out?'
And general thread for discussion of changes in quality of figure production over time
I struggled to come up with an answer to her question... any advice here? lol
Thoughts on picking these figures up for around 35$ in total
Hello! I took a hiatus from Reddit but am back. In that time I moved to new apartment that constantly smelled like weed and cigarettes. So the figures have been in storage for a whole year. I have now moved across the country to a much nicer apartment where I can finally display the collection!
Unfortunately, the movers shattered my Milsbo and have not returned my call for the warranty so might just be stuck with the Billy and Detolfs for now… wish me luck!
TLDR: Moved to an apartment smelled horrible, figures were in storage for 1 year. Moved to new apartment and can display once again! Milsbo shattered by movers…
These are my first scale figures. I normally collect articulated stuff like Snail Shell, Figma, SH Figuarts, mecha masume model kits, etc., so this is kind of my first attempt at doing full display-style figure setups with backgrounds and lighting. Im happy with how these turned out.
Hi!!! I collect hatsune miku, as well as some other animes and i was wondering where to find cheap or affordable figures! I use mercari a lot for secondhand, just wanting more opinions!
She is so gorgeous, I love her 😍
Got them all for good price, especially the unopened and brand new Fate/Stay Night 15th Anniversary Celebration Dress Premium Box.
Been waiting for her for a while now, and my god she is just stunning!! So worth the pre-order.
