Is Ankergames Really legit and without Consequence?

Has anyone had problems with the government or had bad experiences with illegally downloading Anker Games in Germany? Or is that not a problem if you use a VPN?

Hat jemand Probleme mit der Regierung oder schlechte Erfahrungen wegen illegalen Downloads von Anker Games in Deutschland gemacht? Oder ist das mit einem VPN kein Problem?

Update Games

Hi everyone, I got probably a dumb question for most of you. How it works with updates for a game?

For example, if we taking about FH6, everytime that will come an update, the whole game should be downloaded and replace or what?

Thanks in advance

Low CPU Usage

When playing games downloaded from Anker I’m seeing really low CPU usage and low FPS. I’m new to Anker Games so I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong or there’s something I need to change. Specs are 9800X3D and a 5080

Play games through exe or bat file?

Hi everyone,

I have a doubt since some days. You always have in the game folder the .exe game file and a .bat file. The game it's always playable with both files, but on the website the instructions always said to you to open the batch file. Is there any difference or any reason?

WARNING: Infostealer Infection via "Anker Games" (Confirmed Case)

I’m writing this to back up what people like u/harshprajapati and u/No_Quantity2771 have been saying about the spike in infostealers lately.

What happened I actually just did a full factory reset on my PC, wiped everything and reinstalled Windows. After that, I only grabbed the basics: Chrome, Discord, and some stuff on Steam. My one massive mistake was downloading Death Stranding 2 from Anker Games. A few days later, things went south fast. I got booted out of Discord and Instagram for no reason, and when I tried to get back in, my login info had already been changed.

It was approx~ 2 day later. They hit basically everything I had saved in the browser:

  • Every Discord account I own
  • My Battle.net and Riot/League of Legends info
  • A bunch of throwaway Steam accounts that didn't have 2FA

Finding the files I eventually found the malware through a autorun entry viao Autorun.exe (download below) sitting in my user folder (C:\Users\[MyName]). The files were named DD.exe and PP.exe. They were set to auto-run every time Windows started, so the hackers basically had a permanent back door into my data.

The lesson I’ve since nuked my drive again with a total format. I'm done saving passwords in browser managers. Seriously, if you’ve downloaded anything from that site, assume your accounts are gone. Change your passwords from a different device right now and turn on 2FA for everything you own.

Download Windows Autorun.exe = https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/autoruns

Open Autorun.exe after download. And go to Options - Scan options - Enable Virustotal

Check for any RED Entry that are called PP/DD or anything similiar.

I’ve got screenshots of my inbox if anyone cares. It’s all in German, but it’s basically a wall of "Suspicious activity" alerts and support tickets with Discord and Battle.net trying to recover my accounts. I even panicked and downloaded BitDefender (lmfao) just to double scan.

I'm only posting this because I noticed the Subnautica 2 download has almost identical flags. I can't 100% confirm it's the same, but after seeing u/harshprajapati's thread, I wouldn't touch it.

The people who got access to my Instagram etc, started spamming more than 500+ people in my DMs/Discord dms etc about some crypto scam involving fake screenshots of Elon Musks twitter like this : https://imgur.com/a/K7gGOKM

-------------

Ive trusted Anker games for a long time and hadnt had any issues most of the time. And i can guarantee you i dont have these malicious files from anywhere else, im super careful most of the time, only browse on the same websites i trust and know, and the only things i download are from either Steam, people i trust, and in this case, Anker Games. Im also not a boomer. Ive been on pc and into gaming for the past 15 years, and literally never caught something, at least nothing im aware of. The only exception when it comes to "false positives" i ever made, was for ankergames, and here we are.

Feel free to download DEATH STRANDING 2, and check for yourself, but it feels like especially the most recent games past "1-3 years" have been an issue a lot of times when browsing through reddit.

PS : I genuinely dont give a fk if you believe me or not. Go ahead keep downloading. I downloaded at least 20 games from Anker games over the last 2 Years, nothing happened, until it did. The reason im sure of it is because AnkerGames was literally the only place i even downloaded anything on my fresh windows.

Forza Horizon 6 unpacking error

Hi everyone, I got an unpacking error while unpacking the zip file. I tried to downloaded it twice, so it's not a download problem. Has anyone else had the same problem?

Followup Post on the "Infostealer" Thread

TLDR If you dont want to read much, else, continue reading below.

>!Downloaded Death Stranding 2 and Windrose from Anker Games on my gaming setup and it contained an infostealer (my best guess). A couple days later, Discord and Instagram were hijacked, passwords changed by attackers.!<

>!The malware planted two executables (DD.exe / PP.exe) in C:\Users\[Name]\ set to auto-run on every boot, giving persistent access to browser-saved credentials. Everything browser-saved was compromised: Discord accounts, Battle.net, Riot/League, Steam accounts without 2FA. Attackers then used the hijacked accounts to spam 500+ people with a crypto scam. Had to nuke and reformat the drive twice. According to brainrot Reddit, im an old boomer who just "clicked on an ad and downloaded something haha"!<

Mods closed my original post without comment but left all the misinformation up, so here’s the simplified version for the people not suffering from terminal Reddit brainrot.

Apparently the official conclusion is that I “downloaded an ad.” Which is honestly impressive considering I literally stated I have TWO separate setups, and the one that got hit is basically a locked-down gaming/streaming PC that only has Steam, Twitch, YouTube, Discord, and a Chromium based Browser with literally only Ankergames, YT, Twitch, and Instagram bookmarked and used.

Not the other machine where you could actually argue I might encounter sketchy websites because of work-related stuff. Nope. Clearly I just woke up one morning after 10+ years online without malware issues and decided to click “FREE_GAME_2026.exe.” that magically appeared on what website exactly?

What’s even crazier is this apparently all-knowing advertisement also knew exactly what game I was downloading, copied the executable name, matched the file structure, used the official logo, and blended in perfectly. I guess this "ad" was a military-grade shapeshifting malware developed by the Evil Avengers.

I also never said Ankergames is “100% unsafe.” I explicitly said I never had issues before and this was the first time something happened. But people online can only process two opinions: either a site is perfectly safe forever, or it’s a cybercrime operation run out of a cave. The concept that piracy sites can be generally fine while still carrying risk seems way too intellectually demanding for some of you.

And yes, piracy itself is risky. That’s reality. I don’t care how many people say “I used it for years.” You are still downloading repacks, third-party uploads, and redistributed files. Acting shocked that something could eventually go wrong is like entering a casino and being emotionally devastated that gambling exists.

The only actual mistake on my side was importing old passwords because I was too lazy to manually write my long random-generated ones from my phone.

The entire reason I even made the original post was simply to warn people to check their startup entries, browser sessions, autofill data, and might think about deleting saved passwords if they use piracy sites at all. I never told anyone to stop using Ankergames. But apparently giving a basic security warning and report on my experience caused some people to react like I personally attacked their religion.

Your anecdotal evidence of "No bro, i used Ankergames for so long 100% safe" is literally as meaningless as MY POST, saying im pretty sure some Ankergames files are unsafe. You cannot prove your case, i cant either.

All im saying is, check your system, download the Autorun sTU from the official Windows page, and check yourself.

And now, you NPCs can all go jump to the comments i cba, its a old burner account. Downvote me all you want.

PS : Grammar checked by Claude, just to make sure this time there is no "bad wording" accident.

Question regarding CS.RIN

In game features tab there's always written "sourced from CS.RIN" and the discussion page, but if I look on Main Forum in CS.RIN websites there are already cracked games, and in the forum where they share clean Steam files there isn't the game. I just want to try to apply a steam emulator to a game just for fun

Is this normal for cracked games? 44 antivirus detections on uplay_r1.dll

I downloaded Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist from ankergames and Windows Defender immediately detected a virus.
The suspicious file is called uplay_r1.dll.

I scanned it with VirusTotal and it got flagged by 44 out of 71 antivirus engines, which honestly surprised me because I’ve seen cracked files get flagged 2–3 times before, but never this many.

So I wanted to ask:

  • Has anyone here downloaded this game from AnkerGames before?
  • Do you think this is just a false positive or actual malware?
  • Has anyone else had problems with uplay_r1.dll
