If you ever wanted to collect antique books, you better start doing it...

I have been collecting antique books for decades and I've always thought it was my little contribution to the world of literature to preserve them for future generations.

Then I read an article this morning that was really worrying. Apparently, AI (as if we don't have enough reasons to hate it) has been buying massive amounts of antique books and destroying them. Honestly, is nothing sacred?!?

Signed copy of Thidwick the Big-Hearted Moose

Hello fellow book enjoyers! My father passed away some years ago, and my grandmother has recently been moved into a care facility. My aunt sent me this box of my father's baby books and ancient photos, and we discovered this book. (In fairness I was going to chuck the whole thing, I have a young child to take care of) But I was wondering if it's authentic or worth anything?

Fremonts First and Second Expedition 1843

I have spent the last 2 days verifying that this is a complete first edition with all maps and plates. Can someone please give me advice on how to sell this quickly?

Review help from antiquarian booksellers and collectors.

Hi! I’m looking for some help from antiquarian booksellers collectors and booksellers for a site I’ve created to catalogue collections, and collaborate in book research/share collections. I’m hoping it’s useful for collectors who are particularly passionate about antiquarian books. I’m an amateur collector and feel it’s useful for me, I just don’t know if it is for others.

If you’d like to give me some feedback, please message me directly so I can expand on what I’m looking to learn. Thank you in advance for your help!

Help solving bookplate mystery

I brought this book recently and it has a heraldic crest or ex libris bookplate but I can’t figure out its origins

Edit: to add some information the book is from 1822 and is Parisian (French) in origin although I am not sure whether the crest is or not, the binding has some sort of initials cypher and it looks like an M and S

What is the value of this edition of Mein Kampf? XXVII

Hello Folks,

could someone please tell me what this book is worth? It is the 27th edition from 1933. Online I could only find editions from the 100th printing and up going for 150€–300€. Does this make the book more valuable, or does the edition number not make much of a difference?

Bought this beautiful copy for 10 euros

I bought this copy of Quatre-Vingt-Treize a few years back on Vinted. There is no date inside, but I did see a few similar copies online, although red. Any insights?

Russia and England 1876-1880, with a signature from the author Olga Novikoff to "General Grant" Ulysses S. Grant

Russia and England 1876-1880 by the Russian monarchist and militant Olga Novikoff (O.K.), signed "with kind remembrances" to "General Grant" Ulysses S. Grant, commander of the Union army during the American Civil War.

Got it for 5 euros ; don't know if it's actually as valuable as other copies of the same book I've found online, nor what the signature from the author to a former american president and Civil war figure could add to its worth, but great find at least. Do you think it's worth taking it somewhere to estimate it further or not?
