They finally got me!

Well I remained completely unscathed after the large API removal that happened some days ago, somehow managing to continue using my API key up until today despite not doing anything to even try and be discrete.

Some time in the last 30 minutes though, they finally deleted the key/app. The annoying part is that they also deleted an app that I was using legitimately that had absolutely nothing to do with Apollo.

I said before that once I was gotten, I would be done with Reddit. I don't particularly fancy risking my account by using one of the shady workaround methods. I hope the devs of Reborn can have some fun with their work before Reddit inevitably finds ways of permanently locking people out.

Issues logging in

I have followed all the instructions on getting a new API key from the GitHub page, but I'm still met with the blank {} screen when trying to login. Any other suggestions?

Issues with playing gifs in nsfw albums

GIFs in albums work normally, however when loading nsfw gifs in albums it just gets stuck loading? Anyone else have the same issue or is there a fix for it?

Edit: just tried it with normal gifs and the issue persists. Post example sfw gif album

[Request] Bring back support for video uploads (media post)

On the latest version of the IPA app, submitting a new post to a subreddit only gives me the option to create an image post. A few weeks ago there was also a “media post” option that supported both images and videos, but that seems to have disappeared.

Is there one method of side-loading Apollo that is objectively better than the others?

I have Apollo running on my iPhone using Sideloadly, it was simple to setup and I was able to create and use a new Apple ID to protect my main Apple ID. I’ve also seen a lot of people using AltStore and SideStore.

I’m curious what method you used and why, is there anyone who has tried multiple and can talk about their experience using them?

Sideloadly made it very simple to sideload but I have to refresh weekly. It’s supposed to do it over WiFi but my PC is never on when it attempts and iTunes is sometimes not open… it’s fine and I don’t mind doing it manually for now.

[Request] Can we get an AI post summary please?

Hey, thanks so much for working on this wonderful project, i come from r/HydraClient, and one thing it has that is really useful is that it has an option to Enable AI to auto summorize big posts (posts and comments, but both are toggleable), it saves so much time and it works amazingly well, i wonder if such a function is possible to impement here too?

Thanks!

Apollo is working on iOS 27!

Half an hour of messing around and it seems stable.

Edit: The only graphical glitch I’ve found so far is when you swipe to go back, the post, on which you swipe, gets highlighted like you’re trying to open it.

How do I find out if my API key has been removed?

Have all user APIs been removed/revoked? About a month ago I used mine to reinstall Apollo, and now I get the infinite loading screen. I have tried to install Apollo reborn with the credentials I had saved but it will not work, and I cannot locate the api key on old Reddit like I had before. Any help is much appreciated.

Widgets! (Coming soon…)

For those who have been asking for Widgets to work again, here’s a small teaser of something coming soon!

Huge thank you to the devs who are keeping this app up and running. Just a small request, can we have some additional dark themes too?

For some folks, keeping it either black or white can cause some issues in readability.

Can we have something like the dark theme we have in twitter app, like the Dim theme in twitter.

I remember when the api crackdown was happening & thinking "aight, ima ride the apollo train until the wheels fall off, then hop on the official app"

Now i might never need to😭😭thank you to the devs again!

Note

We're aware of reports that Reddit has started revoking some users' API keys. Please see our new updated instructions for workarounds.

AltStore, SideStore, Feather sources can be found at https://apolloreborn.app/#download

  • Fix a crash when sharing a post to Messages or Mail from the share sheet — the system compose controller was misidentified as an Apollo composer, leaving GIF-toolbar injection timers that dereferenced the dismissed share UI and crashed (#378: u/nickclyde)

Thank you so much

My api key was revoked. Luckily I discovered this. I am back at it. The reborn app is better than what I was using. Thanks for your time and effort to keep me running.
