Apollo Reborn is coming to Mac.

Apollo Reborn is coming to Mac.

We’re still a little way off sharing anything concrete, including timelines, what it will look like or how it’ll be distributed, but we’ve been keeping one more thing quiet.

Apollo Reborn is coming to Mac.

It’ll be a thoroughly Mac-assed Mac app - this isn’t simply the iPad app running on macOS. It is designed specifically for macOS and built around the features, interactions and little platform conventions that make a Mac app feel like a Mac app.

There’s still a lot to build, so we’ll have more to share when it’s further along.

In the meantime, work on the core app very much continues: we’re hard at work on 3.5.2, and hope to have fixes out soon for some of the bugs and crashes people have been experiencing.

For now, consider this your teaser. 👀

u/corderjones — 9 days ago

First look: Apollo Reborn’s new iPad layout

We’ve been quietly experimenting with a proper iPad experience for Apollo Reborn, one that makes much better use of the larger screen, with a native iPad sidebar, multi-column browsing and a dedicated post view.

It also takes advantage of more of the features that make iPad apps feel at home on the platform, including keyboard shortcuts, menu-bar commands and other iPad-specific interactions.

There’s still plenty left to build and refine, but we wanted to share an early look at where it’s heading.

To set expectations, this is currently a back-burner project rather than an imminent release. Stability, performance, crash fixes and improvements to the core app remain our priority. We’re hoping to make the new layout available as an experimental option in an upcoming update, giving people the chance to try it early while we continue building and refining it.

Thanks to all the people who have suggested ideas for the iPad layout or requested it on our various platforms!

Apollo Reborn 3.5.1 — Swipe Through Galleries, multireddit upgrades, vote breakdowns, private crash reports and more

https://preview.redd.it/bkoh62e751ih1.png?width=4040&format=png&auto=webp&s=d460aa44bb7d1424a73e5556604797d632ca2aea

TL;DR

Apollo Reborn 3.5.1 is a feature-packed follow-up to 3.5.0.

You can now swipe through gallery posts directly in your feed (and swipe up over fullscreen media to open comments), multireddits gain Gallery View, in-app renaming, descriptions and custom icons, posts show approximate vote breakdowns, and a new private, local-only Crash Reports system helps you send us better bug reports without anything ever leaving your device automatically.

There's also a clearer Header Style picker with a new progressive Blur option, an opt-in Apple Translate sheet, full-screen subreddit banner and icon viewers, improved AI Summaries model pickers, Apple Vision Pro hover and multiwindow support, four new Liquid Glass app icons, and a large collection of crash, memory, media, layout and posting fixes — including several for the iOS 27 betas.

⬇️ Download

Grab an IPA from the GitHub release and sideload it using your usual tool, such as AltStore, SideStore, Feather or Signulous.

Sideloading sources can be found on Apollo Reborn

Find your best way to install

Not sure which installation method to use? Try our interactive Apollo Reborn installation guide.

Answer a few questions about your device and Apple account, and the guide will pick the installation path that will actually work for you — complete with step-by-step instructions.

Which variant should I use?

  • Apollo-Reborn-3.5.1-GLASS.ipa — the iOS 26 Liquid Glass appearance. Most people using iOS 26 will want this.
  • Apollo-Reborn-3.5.1.ipa — the standard build without the Liquid Glass interface.
  • GLASSICONS variants — include the Liquid Glass icon pack.
  • NOEXTENSIONS variants — remove the app extensions for signing setups that require fewer extensions.

Not sure? Try the GLASS build first.

✨ Headline features

Swipe Through Feed Galleries

Gallery posts can now be paged through directly in the feed card — no need to open the post to see every image.

Cards size themselves more intelligently as you swipe, transitions into fullscreen are seamless, and a new Swipe Up for Comments gesture opens the real comments screen right over fullscreen media.

(#805 — @jordanearle)

Multireddit upgrades

Multireddits now support Gallery View, can be renamed and given descriptions directly in the app, and can carry custom icons.

There's also a new option to hide multireddit descriptions in the Subreddits list if you prefer a more compact layout.

(#799, #837 — @icpryde)

Vote breakdowns

Posts now show an approximate breakdown of upvotes and downvotes, and your own comments include author-only insights.

(#802 — @jordanearle)

Header Styles

The Scroll Edge Effect setting has been replaced with a clearer Header Style picker, and a new progressive Blur option joins the iOS 26 Soft and iOS 27 Hard styles.

(#843 — @jordanearle)

Private, local-only Crash Reports

Apollo Reborn can now record crash reports entirely on your device.

Nothing is ever sent anywhere automatically: reports stay local unless you open one, review exactly what it contains, and explicitly choose to attach the sanitized report to a bug form. You can inspect the exact JSON that would be shared, and delete reports at any time from Settings → Privacy → Crash Reports.

This should make it dramatically easier to diagnose the crashes that are hardest to reproduce.

(#824 — @jordanearle)

Apple Translate

An opt-in setting lets Apollo's post and comment Translate action open the native Apple Translate sheet on supported iOS versions.

(#812 — @DeltAndy123)

View Banner and View Icon

Subreddit headers gain full-screen View Banner and View Icon actions, with tap-and-hold access to customization options.

(#845 — @icpryde)

🚀 Smaller features

Search improvements

The Search tab supports pull-to-refresh for subreddit discovery, trending results respect their limits reliably, and Random NSFW Subreddit is now its own row.

(#788 — @JeffreyCA)

Better AI Summaries

Cloud AI Summaries gain searchable Gemini and OpenRouter model browsers, working defaults, provider attribution on generated summaries, and clearer service errors.

(#778 — @jordanearle)

Easier-to-find settings

A reddit.com Web Sign-In row now lives under Accounts & API Keys, and the Apollo Reborn hub gains a Theme Manager shortcut.

(#855 — @jordanearle)

Apple Vision Pro

Apollo gains gaze and pointer hover effects plus multiwindow support when running on Apple Vision Pro.

(#759 — @rebelancap)

New Liquid Glass app icons

Four new Liquid Glass icons — Original Apollo, Halo, Aloppo and Pixels — join the picker, and the Apollo Classic, Helios and Jryng artwork has been refreshed for iOS 27.

(#784, #800, #804, #819, #842 — @IllIIllIllIllII)

More reliable Open Reddit Links in Apollo

The recommended automatic Safari routing has moved into the Link Companion app, while the manual and legacy fallback extensions are retained for setups that need them.

(#786 — @jordanearle)

🔧 Fixes

Networking and media reliability

  • Remove avoidable stalls, bound caches and concurrent downloads, preserve animated album media when saving or sharing, and make uploads and share-link resolution more resilient. (#728 — @ryannair05)

Comments

  • Fix newly posted or edited comments appearing blank or incomplete until the thread is reopened — including missing usernames, flair, scores and timestamps. (#808 — @icpryde)

Crashes and memory

  • Fix major crash and memory regressions affecting video-heavy threads, translated or recovered comments, native video comments, and profile-tab long presses. (#796, #823, #829, #844 — @icpryde, @jordanearle)

Gallery and media

  • Fix silent hosted videos, ignored NSFW blur preferences, iOS 27 menu crashes, frozen search-result videos, and blank or permanently compact link previews. (#767, #769, #781, #789, #807 — @jordanearle, @JeffreyCA, @icpryde)

Profiles, subreddit headers and themes

  • Fix flickering and layout issues including unreadable context menus and duration pills, indistinct read posts, uneven row highlights, misaligned profile cards, stuck refresh offsets, and Pixel Pals drifting behind the Dynamic Island. (#846, #848, #849, #853 — @icpryde, @jordanearle)

Posting, translation and moderation

  • Fix long composer titles, an unsafe Text editor Post button, untranslated media-post bodies, poll flair, search state, long translated titles, and incorrect moderator-row routing. (#780, #793, #795, #835 — @jordanearle, @icpryde)

Lists and navigation

  • Fix lists becoming stuck beneath the tab bar on iOS 27 or hiding their final rows on standard builds, and smooth out legacy hide-bars transitions. (#821 — @jordanearle)

Keychain

  • Prevent account recovery and Settings Backup from triggering repeated keychain passcode prompts. (#777 — @jordanearle)

🧪 A note about iOS 27 betas

This release fixes several issues reported on the iOS 27 betas, including lists getting stuck beneath the tab bar and media context-menu crashes, and adds the iOS 27 Hard header style.

Beta behaviour can still change before the final release, so remaining beta-only issues are prioritised when they prevent the app from working, risk data loss, or appear likely to remain in the final version. We will keep testing as Apple releases further betas.

🐛 Found a bug? Want a feature?

You can submit a bug report directly from inside Apollo Reborn — and with this release, you can now optionally attach a sanitized, fully reviewable crash report to it.

Reports and requests can also be submitted through the website:

When reporting an issue, please include your iOS version, Apollo Reborn version, build variant and signing method wherever possible.

If you are using an iOS beta, please also include the exact beta version.

Apollo Reborn Update: Link Companion Improvements and v3.5.1 Preview

A few updates on the Apollo Link Companion, Bring Your Own AI support, and the upcoming Apollo Reborn 3.5.1 release!

Apollo Link Companion Update

Apollo Link Companion has been updated and should now open Reddit links in Apollo much more reliably.

For links from Messages, Google, Mail, and other apps to reach Safari, the official Reddit app must not be installed. Otherwise, iOS may send Reddit links directly to it before Safari or the Companion extension can handle them.

Setup

  1. Update or install Apollo Link Companion through TestFlight.
  2. Open Apollo Link Companion once after installing or updating it.
  3. Open Settings → Apps → Safari → Extensions.
  4. Select Open in Apollo (Companion).
  5. Enable Allow Extension.
  6. For now, disable Apollo’s older Open in Apollo extension to prevent the two extensions from conflicting.
  7. Set website access to Allow on Every Website—not Ask or Deny.
  8. If you use Safari profiles, enable the extension for each relevant profile. Private Browsing may also require separate permission.
  9. Force-quit and reopen Safari, then try a Reddit link.

You can find the TestFlight link under Apollo Reborn Settings → Open in App → Open Reddit Links in Apollo.

The instructions included with Apollo Reborn 3.5.0 are outdated and will be corrected in 3.5.1, so please follow the steps above for now.

If links still don’t open

Paste this link into Notes, long-press it, and select Open in Apollo Reborn Opener:

https://open.apolloreborn.app/open?url=https%3A%2F%2Freddit.com%2Fr%2Fapolloapp

This resets iOS’s per-device preference for open.apolloreborn.app. If the option does not appear, delete Apollo Link Companion, reinstall it from TestFlight, open it once, and repeat the test.

Apollo Reborn 3.5.1 will update the older extension so it can remain available as a manual fallback when the Companion extension cannot handle a link.

Bring Your Own AI fixes

We are aware that some users are currently experiencing issues with Bring Your Own AI keys. These problems will be fixed in the upcoming Apollo Reborn 3.5.1 update.

In the meantime, please use the following models:

  • Gemini: gemini-3.6-flash or gemini-flash-3.5-lite
  • OpenRouter: openrouter/free

Apollo Reborn 3.5.1 will also add a new model picker, allowing you to choose from a list of models available for your configured API provider and key rather than entering the model manually.

Other improvements coming in 3.5.1

Gallery improvements

  • Adds NSFW content support to Gallery View (including sound!)
  • Fixes several crashes that could occur while browsing galleries.

Polls

  • Adds post-flair selection to the poll composer.
  • Sends the selected flair when submitting a poll.

Moderation

  • Replaces the crash-prone legacy banned-user action controller with a scoped action sheet.
  • Preserves Apollo’s original View Comment and Edit Ban actions.

Subreddit navigation and search

  • Keeps immersive subreddit banner artwork correctly aligned when the search inset changes.
  • Preserves the current subreddit search and its state during completed or cancelled interactive navigation transitions.
  • Prevents long subreddit titles from overlapping the translation globe control by correctly recalculating the available navigation-bar width.

There are also several smaller UI fixes and general stability improvements included throughout the update.

iOS 27 beta

We are aware of several bugs affecting users running the iOS 27 beta.

While iOS 27 remains in beta, we are not prioritising immediate fixes for every beta-specific issue. Apple may change or resolve some of these problems upstream before the final release.

We will continue reviewing compatibility throughout the summer and address the remaining issues once the behaviour of later iOS 27 betas becomes clearer.

Apollo Reborn 3.5.0 — Gallery View, redesigned profiles and settings, Reddit Polls, Chat, Badge Book, BYO AI and more

TL;DR

Apollo Reborn 3.5.0 is one of our biggest feature releases yet.

It introduces Gallery View for browsing subreddit media, completely redesigned (and customisable!) profile and subreddit headers, a rebuilt and searchable Settings, the ability to vote and create Reddit Polls, modern Chat and Moderator Mail, a new Badge Book, expanded AI Summaries with bring-your-own-provider support, and an improved way to open Reddit links from Safari using the new Link Companion app (available via TestFlight).

This release also enables ProMotion in patched IPAs, significantly improves scrolling performance, makes Imgur media work without a personal API key, redesigns the Liquid Glass icon picker, and includes a large collection of posting, preview, navigation, translation, moderation and media fixes.

⬇️ Download

Grab an IPA from the GitHub release and sideload it using your usual tool, such as AltStore, SideStore, Feather or Signulous.

Sideloading sources can be found on Apollo Reborn

Find your best way to install

Not sure which installation method to use? Try our new interactive Apollo Reborn installation guide.

Answer a few questions about your device and Apple account, and the guide will pick the installation path that will actually work for you — complete with step-by-step instructions.

Which variant should I use?

  • Apollo-Reborn-3.5.0-GLASS.ipa — the iOS 26 Liquid Glass appearance. Most people using iOS 26 will want this.
  • Apollo-Reborn-3.5.0.ipa — the standard build without the Liquid Glass interface.
  • GLASSICONS variants — include the Liquid Glass icon pack.
  • NOEXTENSIONS variants — remove the app extensions for signing setups that require fewer extensions.

Not sure? Try the GLASS build first.

✨ Headline features

Gallery View

Browse the photos, GIFs and videos from any subreddit in a dedicated media gallery.

Gallery View uses a filterable waterfall grid and supports fullscreen paging, sorting, sharing and saving media. Open it from a subreddit’s menu whenever you want to browse its media without moving through the normal post feed.

(#746 — @icpryde)

Redesigned profiles and subreddits

Profile and subreddit pages now have immersive artwork, prominent avatars, themed stat cards and a much richer visual hierarchy.

You can choose between New, Classic and Native layout densities, while Social Links now load substantially faster than before.

(#696, #697, #722, #758 — @jordanearle)

A completely rebuilt Settings experience

Settings have been reorganised around the things you are trying to accomplish rather than Apollo’s underlying implementation.

The redesign includes clearer sections, improved support flows and a unified search that can take you directly to an individual setting. Search is immediately available on the main Settings screen, while pull-to-search remains available throughout the experience.

(#637, #695, #758 — @jordanearle, @icpryde)

Badge Book and Trophy Case

Profiles now include a Badge Book for browsing Reddit achievements.

Apollo’s classic Trophy Case has also been restored, bringing account trophies back into the redesigned profile experience.

(#689 — @jordanearle)

Native Reddit Polls

Apollo can now vote in and create native Reddit Polls.

Poll support is currently behind an opt-in setting. Because Reddit poll votes cannot be changed after they are submitted, Apollo shows a confirmation step before casting your vote.

(#643, #735 — @jordanearle, @DeltAndy123)

Modern Reddit Chat and Moderator Mail

API-Key-Free accounts can now access Reddit’s current Chat and Moderator Mail experiences directly from Apollo.

Users with a personal Reddit API key can independently choose whether Chat and Moderator Mail use Reddit’s modern interfaces or Apollo’s legacy clients.

(#658, #740, #750 — @icpryde)

Bring your own AI provider

Apollo AI Summaries now supports your own:

  • OpenRouter key
  • Google Gemini key
  • Custom OpenAI-compatible provider

There are also new controls for the minimum post length required before summaries appear and the amount of detail included in generated summaries.

(#674, #687 — @nickclyde, @icpryde)

Open Reddit links from Safari

The new Link Companion app provides a universal Open Reddit Links in Apollo flow.

Safari links can be sent directly into any sideloaded or rebranded Apollo build without relying on a fixed bundle identifier or showing the usual custom URL-scheme confirmation prompt.

(#685 — @jordanearle)

🚀 Performance, icons and smaller features

ProMotion and smoother scrolling

Patched IPAs now enable ProMotion on supported devices.

This release also reduces main-thread work throughout feeds, translations, link previews, avatars and Liquid Glass navigation, making scrolling and navigation noticeably smoother.

(#724, #731 — @jordanearle, @icpryde)

Redesigned Liquid Glass icon picker

The Liquid Glass App Icon picker now includes featured icons, browsable icon-pack cards and more reliable detection of the currently active icon on sideloaded installations.

(#668 — @DeltAndy123)

Compact built-in feed rows

A new Hide Feed Descriptions option removes the descriptions beneath the built-in Home, Popular, All and Moderator rows in the subreddit list.

(#692 — @icpryde)

Modmail subject counter

The Message Moderators screen now shows a live character counter for Reddit’s 25-character subject limit.

(#751 — @icpryde)

🔧 Fixes

Media and previews

  • Make Imgur images, animated media and albums work without a personal API key, including additional fallbacks for networks where Imgur is blocked.
    (#729 — @jordanearle)

  • Fix rich link previews reserving the height of a full card when the linked site has no image, and prevent oversized preview images from overflowing the main-thread stack during row layout.
    (#686, #741 — @icpryde)

  • Fix inline comment images shrinking after their comment is collapsed and expanded again.
    (#675 — @icpryde)

Posting and account handling

  • Fix API-Key-Free posting so post flair opens correctly, user-flair emoji limits match each subreddit, newly posted comments display your flair, and multi-image galleries are assigned to the account that submitted them.
    (#669, #670, #733 — @icpryde)

Comments and translation

  • Keep translated comments stable while their vote state updates.
    (#676 — @icpryde)

  • Fix the Info Row comment action firing a haptic or opening comments when the touch becomes a scrolling gesture.
    (#739 — @icpryde)

Moderator Mail

  • Fix modern Moderator Mail briefly exposing half-rendered transitions or flickering the subreddit icon while typing a reply.
    (#749 — @icpryde)

Appearance and themes

  • Fix Apollo Reborn Settings backgrounds, cards and separators retaining stale colours after changing the app appearance or active theme.
    (#734 — @DeltAndy123)

Liquid Glass navigation

  • Keep navigation titles visually centred between leading and trailing button groups.
  • Preserve edge fades during interactive swipe-back gestures.
  • Balance the padding inside trailing navigation pills.
  • Keep menu controls visible throughout their morph animation.
    (#671, #693, #730, #753 — @icpryde)

🧪 A note about iOS 27 betas

We are aware of a few issues affecting Apollo Reborn on the current iOS 27 betas. We are reviewing them and will continue testing as Apple releases further betas.

Because beta behaviour can change before the final release, beta-only issues are not currently being prioritised unless they prevent the app from working, risk data loss, or appear likely to remain in the final version.

We will address any remaining compatibility issues as iOS 27 approaches its public release.

Apollo Reborn 3.4.2 (PRE-RELEASE) - Sign out bug fixes and more!

\

PRE-RELEASE (Please read!):

> ⚠️ This is a pre-release test build. We wanted to get it into people’s hands to confirm the sign-out fix works across a range of setups before pushing it broadly. > > There may be minor rough edges. Because it’s a pre-release build, it will not show up in AltStore, SideStore or Feather yet — you’ll need to grab the IPA from the GitHub release below and sideload it manually. > > Once we have a few confirmed “it fixed it for me” reports, we’ll release it more broadly to the sideloading stores in the coming days.

TL;DR

Apollo Reborn 3.4.2 fixes the bug where your Reddit account kept getting signed out after force-quitting the app or leaving it in the background — the one that survived reinstalls, signing in again and clean installs.

It also includes a handful of smaller fixes and the new Synthwave Liquid Glass icon.

If you’ve been getting logged out constantly, this is the build for you. Please test it and let us know whether it fixes the problem.

🔍 What was actually going wrong?

Apollo stores your signed-in account in the iOS keychain.

Two of Apollo Reborn’s own code paths — API-Key-Free sign-in and settings restore — were creating the account’s keychain entry without explicitly setting the protection level Apollo expects.

iOS therefore created the entry with a different protection level from the one Apollo specified when reading it.

The account still physically existed, but Apollo’s normal read could not find it. Apollo then concluded there were no saved accounts and wrote an empty account over the valid one.

The result: signed out after restarting the app or leaving it in the background.

The reason it was so maddening is that the keychain entry is normally created only once. Later sign-ins update its contents without correcting the protection level it was originally created with. It also survives deleting and reinstalling the app.

So:

  • Reinstalling didn’t help — the keychain entry outlived the app.
  • Signing in again didn’t fix the underlying problem — the existing entry was updated rather than recreated correctly.
  • One Apple ID could work while another didn’t — different signing identities can use separate keychain entries, each with its own history.
  • Many maintainers couldn’t reproduce it — their account entry had already been created correctly by an older sign-in path.

🛠️ How we fixed it

The fix has three parts, shipped together:

  1. Prevention — both affected writers now set the correct protection level when creating an entry.
  2. Repair — already-broken entries are corrected in place the first time the recovery path detects them.
  3. Recovery — Apollo can temporarily find and load the account even when its normal read misses, preventing it from being overwritten while the repair happens.

This was a real team effort.

u/jordanearle drove the affected-user investigation, organised testing, analysed the debug logs, identified the destructive empty-account overwrite, and built the recovery and write-protection machinery.

u/DeltAndy123 then pinpointed the precise protection-level mismatch, fixed the two code paths creating malformed entries, and added the one-time in-place repair.

Huge thanks to everyone who tested and sent logs — this genuinely couldn’t have been solved without real-device data. 🙏

After installing this build: if your valid account data is still present, Apollo should recover and repair it automatically.

If an earlier build has already overwritten it with an empty account, you may need to sign in once more after updating. It should then remain signed in.

⬇️ Download

Grab an IPA from the GitHub pre-release and sideload it using your usual tool, such as AltStore, SideStore, Feather or Signulous.

Which variant should I use?

  • Apollo-Reborn-3.4.2-GLASS.ipa — the iOS 26 Liquid Glass appearance. Most people using iOS 26 will want this.
  • Apollo-Reborn-3.4.2.ipa — the standard build without the Liquid Glass interface.
  • GLASSICONS variants — include the Liquid Glass icon pack.
  • NOEXTENSIONS variants — remove the app extensions for signing setups that require fewer extensions.

Not sure? Try the GLASS build first.

✨ Features

  • Added the Synthwave Liquid Glass app icon to the in-app icon picker.
    (#663 — u/IllIIllIllIllII)

🔧 Fixes

  • Fixed accounts being signed out after force-quitting or backgrounding Apollo on sideloaded installs.

The account’s keychain entry could be created with the wrong protection level, making it invisible to Apollo’s own read. Apollo would then mistakenly overwrite it with an empty account.

Entries are now created correctly, repaired in place on already-affected devices, and recovered while the repair happens so the account is not wiped.

    (#677, #681, #682 — u/jordanearle, u/DeltAndy123)

  • Added inline playback support for more short-clip links, including streama.in and streamff.link, and followed the moved dubz and streamff CDNs.
    (#665 — u/icpryde)

  • Improved loading performance for the full Community Highlights list.
    (#661 — u/icpryde)

  • Fixed Video Hold Speed remaining stuck at the hold speed after scrubbing a fullscreen video.
    (#667 — u/icpryde)

  • Fixed the Mod Queue filter menu anchoring to the wrong position in Liquid Glass builds.
    (#679 — u/JeffreyCA)

  • Fixed the Search tab suggestion padding and adjusted the Random Subreddit icon’s stroke weight.
    (#680 — u/icpryde)

  • Fixed the Apollo Classic Liquid Glass icon on iOS 27.
    (#666 — u/IllIIllIllIllII)

🐛 Found a bug? Want a feature?

Because this is a test build, reports are especially appreciated:

If you were getting signed out and this build fixes it, please leave a quick comment confirming that.

Those reports will help us decide when the fix is ready for the wider release. 🙏

Are you still having logout issues in 3.4.1?

Hey! If anyone still having logout issues in 3.4.1 can comment and reply with a few details:

iOS Version: (e.g. 26.1)
Install method: (e.g. SideStore)
Paid or free apple dev account: (e.g. Paid account)
Using LiveContainer: Yes/No

Ideally, if you can also export and share logs from the app that would be helpful.

We're keen to figure out the issue - hopefully 3.4.1 helps some people as in our testing it improved, but seems to still be happening.

UPDATE (16/07/26): After doing some research this seems to be an upstream bug introduced in recent SideStore / LiveContainer updates. I believe this has been fixed in the latest nightly releases, so hopefully that’ll be stable soon and may solve this. Will do further research tomorrow and will keep folks posted.

UPDATE (17/07/26): We have identified and fixed a bug in Apollo - a hot fix that resolves this issue will be released in the next day or two.

Which would you prefer we add?

Just testing some new bits 👀

And for those asking, 3.4.1 is coming soon - few of the maintainers have been busy so we haven’t been able to get it out yet. Will be ready soon!

New: Easier bug reporting and feature requests

Hey everyone!

We’re working hard on a new release to fix some of the issues introduced in 3.4.0, hopefully including the sign-out bug.

In the meantime, we’re changing how we collect bug reports and feature requests going forward.

Bug reports

Please report bugs through report.apolloreborn.app, or soon through the new in-app button under Settings → Apollo Reborn.

The form asks for some basic information about the issue and lets you attach screenshots, videos, GIFs, or logs, which should make it much easier for us to investigate problems properly.

Feature requests

Feature requests should now be submitted through request.apolloreborn.app, or soon through the in-app button under Settings → Apollo Reborn.

This is powered by Fider, a community feedback tool that lets people submit ideas, discuss them, and vote on the features they would most like to see.

Before submitting something new, please search first to check whether the idea already exists.

If you’re technically minded and have a GitHub account, feel free to continue reporting issues there as usual. You’re also still welcome to post feature ideas here for wider community discussion.

However, Report and Request are now the official homes for these two flows, so AutoModerator will begin directing bug reports and feature requests there.

Thanks, and happy Apollo-ing!

This is a major rebuild of Apollo Reborn’s theming system, with a unified theme hub, a 50-preset Theme Gallery, AI-generated themes, imported themes, saved custom themes, editable forks of gallery presets, font controls, and a crash kill-switch that preserves your last working theme with one-tap re-enable (#558, #576: u/jordanearle, theme presets by u/harshb16)

• Add a 50-preset Theme Gallery with built-in themes including Dracula, Catppuccin, Gruvbox, Nord, Tokyo Night, and more. Gallery presets apply by reference, so preset updates can be shipped cleanly, and any preset can be forked into your own editable copy (#558, #576: u/jordanearle, theme presets by u/harshb16)

• Add font controls to Theme Manager so themes can change more than just colours, letting custom themes define their own visual personality more fully (#558, #576: u/jordanearle)

• Add a Colourize Vote Arrows option to Theme Manager so idle up/down arrows take the accent colour, while cast votes keep Apollo’s native green/blue-violet indicator (#580: u/jordanearle)

• Extend the active theme accent colour to tweak-drawn UI. Settings screens, the GIF picker, sign-in buttons, AI summaries, the follow pill, and more now follow the active theme’s accent, or the stock theme’s accent, instead of defaulting to blue. Includes legibility guards for near-white accents (#586: u/JeffreyCA)

• Add theme image sharing to Theme Manager. You can export any custom theme as a shareable QR card with a mock post preview of its colours and font, then import it back via Camera, Photo Library, or Files (#581: u/icpryde)

Live comments, navigation, and app behaviour

• Add Follow New Live Comments for the Live Update sort. New comments pin to the top while you’re at the live edge, and a floating “N new comments” pill lets you jump back to the newest without losing your reading position. Toggle in Settings > General (#535: u/icpryde)

• Add a Magnify Info Row loupe to the post stats strip. Press and hold to pop up a card, slide to pick an action, and release to fire it. Supports upvote, open comments, timestamp, upvote percentage, and translate. Toggle in Settings > General (#566: u/icpryde)

• Add an Open in App screen in Settings > General that consolidates all per-app deep-link toggles for Bluesky, GitHub, Steam, and YouTube, plus a Default Browser picker (#547: u/icpryde)

• Improve subreddit feed search with Keep Search Bar in Place on. Results now appear directly below the search field, the nav bar stays visible after opening a result and returning, and the subreddit header hides while searching to prevent Liquid Glass bleed-through (#534: u/icpryde)

• Add Move Tab Bar to Bottom for iPad in Settings > General to dock the iPadOS 26 floating tab bar at the bottom instead of overlapping the search bar (#557: u/icpryde)

• Add a Show Detailed Profiles toggle in Settings > Apollo Reborn > Media, on by default, to revert profile pages to Apollo’s compact stock layout. This also folds in the former Social Links in Profile switch (#536: u/icpryde)

AI summaries and translation

• Improve Apollo AI Summaries (#532: u/icpryde)

• Tapping an idle summary card now opens it automatically once the summary is ready
• New Open Summaries Automatically toggle expands cards on completion, off by default
• Cards reopen in the state you last left them, tracked per thread
• JavaScript-heavy pages are retried so they summarize instead of failing
• Tapping a page with nothing to summarize now shows a “Nothing to summarize” card
• Cached summaries now expire after 7 days

• Add per-item translation language markers. Tap a marker to toggle just that comment, post body, or feed title between translated and original. There is also a new Tap to Translate mode that translates only the items you tap (#564: u/icpryde)

Media, video, and uploads

• Add a Comment Link Host picker in Settings > Apollo Reborn > Media Upload Host to post comment images as plain Imgur or Img Chest links instead of native Reddit uploads. This lets you add images in subreddits that disallow media comments (#573: u/icpryde)

• Extend Share as Video to Streamable and Redgifs link posts, showing the correct full-width poster at the true aspect ratio and including audio in exported clips (#540: u/icpryde)

• Make the Hold for Video Speed gesture configurable in Settings > Media. Pick any speed from 0.25× to 2× while holding, or turn the gesture off. A haptic tick plays when it engages (#545, #531: u/icpryde)

• Add a Picture-in-Picture entry button to the fullscreen video player so you can send a video to the in-app miniplayer directly when autoplay is off (#569: u/JeffreyCA)

• Show the Picture-in-Picture button in the fullscreen player for spoiler and NSFW-tagged videos, which never autoplay inline and were previously missing the button even with autoplay off (#584: u/JeffreyCA)

Moderation, deleted comments, and notifications

• Add a Public Sticky from Subreddit option to the moderator removal “Notify user via…” menu, which posts the removal comment under the subreddit’s mod-team identity instead of your own account (#537: u/icpryde)

• Add a Deleted Comments settings sub-screen, a Show/Hide shortcut at the bottom of the comments ⋯ menu, and a new Passive mode that recovers deleted comments for a single thread on demand. Passive mode switches back off when you leave the thread and does not touch the global toggle (#572: u/icpryde)

• Add Bark Notifications for free Apple ID sideloads. This relays push notifications through the free Bark app, configured in Settings > Apollo Reborn > Custom API, on builds without a push entitlement (#578: nickclyde)

Icons and privacy

• Add three LGBTQ+ Liquid Glass app icons: Pride, Progress, and Trans (#529: u/lilacvibes)

• Add Helios Liquid Glass icon variants, with eight new app icons: Helios, Halo, Cryo, Parallax, and Ultra combinations (#590: u/IllIIllIllIllII)

• Add Anonymous Install Count in Settings > Apollo Reborn > Privacy. This helps the project estimate active installs, app versions, build variants, and iOS versions with a once-per-day check-in that can be turned off anytime. It does not collect Reddit account data, Reddit activity, feature usage, device identifiers, or Reddit content (#589: u/jordanearle)

🔧 Fixes

• Fix muted Picture-in-Picture videos pausing background music when Enable PiP When Leaving App is on. PiP now only claims the audio session for deliberately unmuted playback and hands it back when dismissed (#569: u/JeffreyCA)

• Fix the modmail conversation layout under iOS 26 Liquid Glass so text no longer bleeds behind the status bar and the tab bar no longer overlaps the compose bar (#543: u/icpryde)

• Fix Redgifs posts on the modern v3.redgifs.com host showing a dead link card instead of an inline video player (#568: u/icpryde)

• Fix multi-image Img Chest album posts producing a dead imgur.com/a/… link instead of an Img Chest album, and render the album cover inline in the feed (#554: u/icpryde)

• Fix Show Deleted Comments freezing the app on heavily moderated threads, and deleted comment text rendering larger than regular comments (#541: u/icpryde)

• Fix an intermittent crash in Show Deleted Comments caused by two comment bodies rendering on different threads at once (#563: nickclyde)

• Fix spurious “REMOVED BY MOD” chips on subreddit sidebar stats and on post and comment bylines in subreddits with author flair when Show Deleted Comments was enabled (#516: u/icpryde)

• Fix AI summary cards rendering as a tall empty gap when reopening a thread by tapping it a second time (#544: u/icpryde)

• Fix comment avatars intermittently failing to load. Transient failures now retry with backoff, and avatars are cached to disk so revisiting a thread needs no re-downloads (#530: u/icpryde)

• Fix Share as Image pushing the Share button off-screen on small phones when Include Post Details was on, and gallery posts showing as a link card instead of the image collage in that mode (#553: u/icpryde)

• Fix subreddit list rows not showing a tap highlight when Modern Subreddit Dividers or Subreddit List Enhancements was off (#556: u/icpryde)

• Fix the user flair emoji counter always showing /10 instead of the subreddit’s real per-template limit (#533: u/icpryde)

• Improve the Show Deleted Comments enable warning to lead with a plain performance caution instead of implementation details (#565: u/icpryde)

• Fix Theme Manager display glitches. Ambient theming now applies in the Manager and Gallery, the search field no longer inherits the Separators override, SF Mono text is scaled to match other fonts, legacy theme names show proper spacing, and the cell label no longer reverts to “Theme” after navigating back (#580: u/jordanearle)

• Fix the Magnify Info Row loupe popping when holding the username/subreddit line or starting a scroll near the stats row. Activation now hugs the stats row and ignores swipe-like gestures (#586: u/JeffreyCA)

• Fix search result rows staying stuck at full hero height when a link preview resolves to a compact card, leaving the small card atop a large blank gap until you scrolled away and back (#597: u/icpryde)

• Fix Bluesky link-preview cards whose long title or body text overflowed past the card background in the feed (#577: u/icpryde)

• Fix several API-Key-Free mode reliability issues. Auth cookies stay current across Reddit’s rotations, stale sessions are re-harvested silently, native image uploads and the Submit Post drawer work again, and rate-limit responses are no longer mistaken for session expiry (#562: nickclyde)

Coming soon: Theme Manager 2.0

We heard the community feedback on Theme Manager 1.0, and we agree it wasn’t as smooth as it could have been.

So we’ve been hard at work polishing Apollo’s Theme Manager, and we’re excited to tease some of the improvements coming soon.

2.0 is a major upgrade with a smarter theme engine, custom fonts, AI theme creation, shareable theme cards, a built-in gallery, and a cleaner Themes hub for managing everything in one place.

You’ll be able to browse included presets, generate a theme with AI, tweak it manually, change Apollo’s app-wide font, and share themes as image cards that other users can import.

We’ve also reworked a lot under the hood to make themes more stable, more consistent, and much smoother than the first release.

Huge credit to harshb16 for the theme data behind the gallery presets, and u/iChopPryde for their work on theme sharing cards!

Is UKGE a psyop?

My partner and I were convinced to go to UKGE with some friends this year. They are playing in TCG events for a game we don't play the majority of the event, so we're fending for ourselves for most of the 3 days.

I'm truly struggling to find things to do besides walk around and buy games and accessories. I've been told I'll have a hard time doing everything I want, but I'm really struggling to find anything to do. Most of the scheduled events seem RPG or TCG-focused, which isn't really up our alley. On the board game side, everything we've seen leans more toward lighter party games.

Is there a place I'm missing where people are organizing gaming sessions? We are generally into heavier games (GMT, Splotter, etc) and it would be cool to play games we wouldn't normally get to the table at home.
