Apple refunded $1,240.19 instead of the full $1,380.19 after I returned my iPhone
Hi everyone,
I purchased an iPhone 18 Pro Max (Glacier) on September 27, 2026, for $1,380.19 and traded in my iPhone 11 Pro Max for $140.
I later returned the new iPhone. Apple refunded me $1,240.19, but I'm confused because my original invoice and credit card shows that I was charged $1,380.19 for the new phone.
To clarify:
- Original charge for the new iPhone: $1,380.19
- Trade-in value for my iPhone 11 Pro Max: $140 (received separately)
- Refund after returning the new iPhone: $1,240.19
- Difference between the original charge and the refund: $140
I have contacted Apple Support multiple times, and they keep asking me to wait 24–48 hours. I'm still trying to understand why $140 difference has not been issued.
Has anyone returned an iPhone purchased with a trade-in and experienced the same refund breakdown? I belive I should be receiveing the full $1,380.19 refund for the returned phone, or $140 for the trade in. What should i do ? I went to apple store as well and they donot handle these situation. I had returned the phone and traded the phone in store.
I'd appreciate advice from anyone who has dealt with this situation.
Thank you!
