I love my Higgins

Truly, Art meets function. Does anybody know if anybody’s making quality ashtrays today? this is a piece from the 60s, one of several I have. where have you people been all my life?

Ashtrays of the Starfleet?

I got a very science fiction feel for this piece. Maybe it would’ve been in George Jetson‘s house. I think he smoked Chesterfields.

Made this Kanye’s Yeezus Ashtray

Made this Yeezus-inspired ashtray by hand using air dry clay and acrylic paint.
The CD part took the most time since mixing the colors to get that reflective effect was way harder than I expected without making it look muddy.

Thinking of making more hip-hop inspired pieces soon, would love some feedback.

Chimney? No chimney.

So for my first number, the king of my ashtray collection, I’m not sure if this is a chimney ashtray or if it’s supposed to hang by a rope. I’ve seen both, but this is my pride and joy. Does anybody know what glaze this is called?

My MCM “Fat Lava” fireplace shaped smoker ashtray.

Fat Lava is a style of Drip glaze on pottery items in the 1960-1970’s popular in Germany Italy and Canada. It’s also a smoker ashtray with a chimney.
