Double desk microphone help

Double desk microphone help

Hello, I was wondering if anyone had any mic recommendations or suggestions for me and my husband's desks. We're set up next to each other with Blue Yeti snowballs, and have issues with audio bleed when playing games or on discord. I know that upgrading to dynamic mics will probably be the way to go, but need some guidance before buying anything.

Help with design

I want to design an L shaped gaming desk but I have two issues

There is a local fabricator who uses VERY strong wood and VERY strong steel bars

Which will make the desk thickness in the front 7.5 cm

3.5 cm wood

4 cm steel bar

My height is 174 cm and gemini says that the height should be 72 cm to set properly, is the 7.5 cm too much for my arms and legs positioning?

Also the dimensions in the picture is 180×60 120×60 I want a depth of 80 cm in the main side and 60 cm in the return side, will it look bad? What are better dimensions

THANK YOOOOU

Ultrarm vs Ergotron

I have purchased 2x Ultrarm Vision Monitor Arms. It serves my purpose quite well to support my 57 inch and 40 inch monitors. However, I havent seen many reviews of Ultrarm like other brands. I have seen many brands being discussed on Youtube but they always skip Ultrarm. The most discussed brand is Ergotron. However, even their HX model has less rated capacity than Ultrarm Vision.

The Ultrarm has great quality but I don't know if other brands like Ergotron offer better quality. I have never compared it against another brand physically so I cannot say for sure which is better.

Any thoughts?

Wondering what I can do differently

This is what it is right now. Thinking of probably getting a monitor arm, but not sure which one

Edit: Got some pretty good recommendations. Most of it being a monitor arm which was on my list. I’ll definitely look for a bigger mouse pad and stuff to add to the walls. Thanks for the feedback!

Monitors, Monitor Arms, and possibly adding a "3rd" screen

BL;UF

  • Can I use a 15-32" monitor arm? My 22" monitor would be positioned vertically and a 34" one in standard position allowing for more clearance horizontally
  • For Law School (and in general for work) is having a 3rd monitor worth it? I can swap the HDMI of my main monitor to Display Port and find a cheap monitor on FB Marketplace for like $10-25

For context on what I'm running with right now:

HARDWARE

  • HP Victus 15" (Intel i7, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 8 GB vRAM, 16 GB rRAM)
    • For paying $800, I gladly accepted the restrictions of no Thunderbolt)
    • If I'm gaming I usually unplug the setup completely so the Docking Station doesn't override and try and use the Intel onboard graphics (which stink)
      • usually just Minecraft tbh
    • Most of the time I spend on the rig is studying, reading, and writing case briefs. It is nice to have notes on one monitor, material on another, and then possibly a 3rd for email and communicating with other students
  • HP G5 Docking Station (USB ports)
  • Monitors
    • LG 34WQ500
      • Main monitor, need recommendation for arm - without the stand it weighs 13.2 lbs - so normal arms should hold it but they all say they cap out at 32" and 15 lbs...so shouldn't the 34" work because it is under the weight
      • Want arms to get the screen slightly higher and get eye level on the middle of the screen instead of the upper third
    • HP LA2205wg
      • vertical position currently sitting on a textbook to get on level with the ultrawide. But would want that also to be slightly higher as well if possible
      • Leads to the 34" monitor arm question since it's vertical more space is cleared up for the main display.
    • Laptop internal monitor (in use, but once my keyboard on order arrives - it will be closed and not in use)

Need some advice on refining my space

Just moved into a new place, so I’m finally starting to put together a proper workspace. Please ignore the boxes between the desk and display cabinet, they’ll be gone soon.

I’m pretty happy with the overall direction, but I’m struggling to refine it into a cleaner, more polished setup.
A few things I’m trying to work out:
- Speaker placement (angled on the desk vs raised on a desk shelf?)
- Whether a desk shelf would help clean things up and give me somewhere to tuck away the keyboard and mouse.
- The best way to use my MacBook Pro, gaming laptop, monitor, and iPad without making the desk feel cluttered.
- What to do with the empty walls and corner so the room feels a bit more finished.

It’s a bit of an odd space since it’s also our spare bedroom, and I wanted to keep my display cabinet in here too.

I’d love any suggestions or ideas to make it feel a bit more refined and cohesive.

Looking for guidance on KVM switch

What I’m hoping to accomplish:

I’m looking to setup a two pc workstation. I want to use a KVM switch to allow me to use the same keyboard and mouse for both PCs. I’d also like to have a dual monitor setup where I can run both monitors on pc number 1 and to be able to switch to where each pc will have its own monitor. Hopefully that makes sense.

Any recommended units for this?

DP for one monitor and HDMI for the other. One monitor is 4K if that matter.

Thanks!

Looking for a breathable office/gaming/Nap? chair to upgrade!

Sooo the basic regular gaming chair I have isn't cutting it, and I'm getting older. So I tend to fall asleep in my chair while surfing or watching YouTube... I wake up with my head down… I lift my head and I have neck pains from the snooze I didn't intend on taking... and I can't lean back in my current chair... doesn't have that option. I just upgraded my desk recently now I'm looking for a good overall chair I can game, chill and once in a while nap in...

Any Recommendations???

Thanks in advance.

Planning to upgrade my desk setup, 25" or 39" desk depth?

I have a plan for an "endgame" desk setup with 3 27in monitors on arms (using a single and double arm) with an eventual "endgame" PC using the Lian Li O11 Evo XL case.

My current desk is a 4ft x 25in with a dual 27 in monitors on a double arm and a Fractal North PC case along side with speakers, Switch 2, and PS5. My initial plan was getting an IKEA Alex Desk with a 96in x 25in desktop but then I went on Facebook Marketplace and saw good deals on a butcher block that has a same size and the 39in depth.

I guess my current use case with the new desk plan is obviously to game but the extra space is nice where I can move the mouse and keyboard so I can write on a notebook, play cards, work on model kits, and sometimes eat on my desk without moving all that stuff off my desk to on my bed. Trying to decided if its worth getting the extra space.

Deciding between a 240w GaN station AC+USBC combo and a standard usbc hub anyone run one?

My desk current have 3 power bricks+ a surge protector with two laptops and a monitor is driving me nuts. Looking to consolidate into one GaN station with AC sockets, so I can kill the power strips too.
Options: MFish E-Tank (240W, 3x AC + 4x USB-C) vs UGREEN Nexode 300W (300W, 4x USB-C + 1x USB-A). Catch: the UGREEN is USB-only, so only the E-Tank kills the strips. Trade-off: AC sockets vs 60W more USB-C.

Anyone run either? Do the ports renegotiate/drop on hot-plug?

Finally Got the seating dialed in right

Been focusing on fixing up my space for long hours. Standard office seats just weren't cutting it for back comfort. The hbda ergonomic chair keeps the lower back pressure completely relaxed during long sessions. Posture feels so much better honestly.
