RIG not given for bleeding cat scratch

Yesterday around 6pm I got scratched by a fostering stray cat, i accidentally stepped on him so it was my mistake. It bled and i had to clean off the bleeding twice or thrice, and then I went to get tt shot and applied neosporin on it. Today around 12pm I got the first dose of ARV at a shabby govt hospital ( worried about that too ). But they categorised it as category 2 even after observing the wound which I'm confused about because it should have been category 3. Also the cat is chilling in the sunlight balcony and sleeping peacefully. Also cat was born at my home and has been raised for almost 2 years, he comes everyday and doesn't seem rabid

Period late by 5 days. Trying to conceive. When should I do the pregnancy test?

I am 40, amh is 0.16 (i know it is very low) and we are trying to conceive. Now the doctor has given me thyronorm 50 (tsh was 4) and some vitamin D and some more supplements. Have been taking these since the last 7 to 8 days. I am always very regular on my periods, average cycle length is 27 days. (Only once last year it was 49 days) else im always super regular. I was expecting my periods on 16th May. But no sign of that till now. Has the 7 to 8 days of thyroid medicine put my period off gear or am I pregnant? So when should I do the pregnancy test? Has anyone been through something similar?

LOW IRON, B-12 DEFICIENCY, MOUTH ULCERS

so my mom got tested for vitamin B-12 and iron levels because she had frequent mouth ulcers and burning sensation of the oral cavity while eating (she lost around 5-6 kgs in 2 yrs)

her hb level is at 5.1 g/dl and vitamin b12 level of 153.
REPORT SAYS PERNICIOUS ANAEMIA

the doctor said it's not too severe and gave her B12 injections (to be taken everyday for a week) and some iron tablets, along with some stuff to treat the ulcers and acid reflux.

everywhere in google it says a hb level of 5 is severely anaemic and requires hospitilization, and can even cause death?

im extremely worried, is following the medicine plan for the next month and then checking levels fine? or should we seek a second opinion now itself?

(she's been taking the injections and medicines for 2 days now, and her knee is swollen. Is that just a side effect of the medication? or something we should be concerned about?)

What to ask doctors

Hi all , I’ve been on this sub roughly from may 7th as my father (55) was diagnosed with glioma (likely) , the neurosurgeons whom we met after mri spectroscopy scan were like it is mostly glioma and can only day what type it is after biopsy. So most likely we’ll have it this week. But they haven’t provided any additional information. So this time again when we go , we want to ask more clear questions to doctors. So please help me with framing questions.

For context: we initially visited doctor cos my father started to have stuttered speech and was having trouble to find few words. Then later he started to be on dexa 8mg twice a day.

It is still a shock to my system cos what do you mean my life was completely different before may 6th 6:30pm and didn’t even know such terms like glioma and others exist. I’m sorry whoever finding themselves on this sub , I know it really sucks. I really don’t want any new member to enter this sub. Hope everyone who find themselves here , you/your loved ones fight this much more stronger and come back healthier and my loved one too.

Also if anyone had tumor in the same area , please let me know your experiences.

18F, Will doctors care about scars? TW: self h@rm

I really dont know if this is the place to ask this, but I can't find anywhere else.

For context, I have to get a vaccine soon. I have scars from sh on both upper arms, right where the vaccines are usually put. Idk how well excuses will work bc the scars are many and very raised.

There are two things I'd like to know: first, will doctors care or interfere in any level if they see them? I can't let my parents know at all, and because my mother will be taking me to the hospital, I will have to ask her to leave the room during the vaccination, but I dont think it'll make a difference if they inform her afterwards. I have been told that doctors dont really give a shit because of their lack of time/the number of times they've seen these, but I dont know how true that is in india.

Second thing is, can I get the vaccine on my leg/thigh? I think that's the best way to go, but I know that using the upper arms for vaccines is standard practice, and thighs are used just for children. Do you think doctors will agree if I ask hard enough?

I am an adult and legally no longer dependent on my parent; that should be enough of a reason for them to not interfere, right? What do i say if they ask anyway? And if anyone can tell, will it make a difference if they are naval/military doctors, bc I'll be going to a military hospital for this.

Please help me with this, im desperate, and will do anything to ensure my parents dont get to know about this.

Extreme body heat and rashes between 3am - 4.30 am??

Hello! I am 23F. I have always had very bad body heat issues since growing up ( sensitive skin, skin reacting to eating naturally hot/ warm things like ginger, mango) Every summer it tends to get worse. For the past 2 weeks, I have been waking up between 3.00 am to - 4.30 am. My body especially below my level feels very hot. I get rashes. Everything starts itching. My foot feels especially warm. I get this sensation that someone is poking needles in my feet. This episode goes on for about 1 hr. I put powder, sometimes increase the fan speed, sometimes put my feet in water, and apply coconut oil to my feet. My vagina / thighs get warm and start itching too. I am very confused about what could be the reason for this. My sleep schedule is very messed up because of this. Our regular doctor had asked me to rule out thyroid. I don't have thyroid issues, we got our tests done. My blood reports seem to be normal too. My gynac says it's normal for body heat to go up right before period and ovulation. But I'm not sure why it keeps happening to me almost every night. Im genuinely just scared and tired of waking up late/ not having adequate sleep because of this issue..if someone has faced something similar pls help ur sis out! Thank you so much

Eyelash, eyelid corners itch after wearing old glasses from drawer. Father is 48, weight 60kg with 5.6 ft height.

He wore a very old glass kept in the cupboard1.5 years ago. And after that he started getting itching in corner of eyes and very specifically around eyelash ends, the eyelids corner which has the eye lashes. Both eyes.

Doctor gave= cafta eye drop (Alcaftadine (2.5mg/ml)

Toba -Dm eye drops (Dexamethasone (0.1%)+ Tobramycin (0.3%)

And polinase eye ointment (CHLORAMPHENICOL-10MG+DEXAMETHASONE-1MG+POLYMYXIN B-10000IU)

Issue got fixed for 8 month, no itching. But then it started appearing slowly again. Doctor recommended those meds again but it didn't go away again fully and came back but with lower intensity.

Same medicine was bought again over the counter and after using few days it was stopped as Ai told that prolonged use of steroid based medicine isn't good.

The intensity is very less now but we are confused what to do as it still exists with some itching on eye corners too along with eyelash ends.

No flakes, no over watery eyes, no redness ever, no swollen.

Please help, there is hard to find good doctors in our Village. Also let us know if non steroid alternatives exist

URGENT ‼️ HYDERABAD people please Help with the best neurosurgeon

My father was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor in the left parietal lobe, and the past few days have been extremely overwhelming for our family. We’re currently consulting multiple neurosurgeons to get second opinions and understand the best path forward, but I also wanted to hear from people who may have gone through something similar.

Some doctors are recommending a biopsy first, while others are suggesting going directly for surgery and doing the biopsy during the procedure itself. We’re trying to understand the different treatment options and types of surgeries available, along with the pros and cons of each approach.

His symptoms started with speech and language related issues such as:

  1. forgetting words
  2. stuttering/slurred speech
  3. forgetting spellings
  4. spelling or saying words incorrectly

At the moment, he’s taking:

  1. Dexamethasone 8 mg twice daily
  2. Levetiracetam 500 mg twice daily

While I found amazing people (they are really amazing and helped me cope with this uncertainty mentally) on this sub from different states and got cost estimates , right now need more inclined towards Hyderabad best neurosurgeons who’s specialisation is on brain tumors. Everyone we know are suggesting doctors who have specialisation on spine but not on brain. I wanted to post this on HYDERABAD sub but couldn’t because I have less karma on Reddit ( as I was always a silent one on this used to find my self on competitive exams subs but this change in life has brought me here and unfortunately for being silent on Reddit costed me by not being able to post on few subs) So anyone who know THE BEST DOCTOR and which HOSPITAL they are from in Hyderabad that would help us a lot.

Is it alright or should I be worried?

I am a 24 years old male, 173cm, 82 kgs.

My veins are easily found by the phlebotomists.

This is the first time I am seeing this happening after getting a full body blood test done by a phlebotomist sent by one of the biggest pharmacy apps in my country.

I told him it was causing pain but he was in denial and then he interrupted me by saying how smoothly it happened.

After a few hours, I saw this and it is still there.

Should I be worried about it?

Or should I get it checked?

Please help 🙏

I will be grateful to you docs.
