Remote workers: what do you miss about the office, and what don't you?

I miss talking to the people I like, being forced to get outside, the sense of working together as a team, and the free snacks.

I don't miss being constantly distracted, the long commutes, the endless meetings, the cold, and the small talk.

How old are you, and which decade of your life were you happiest?

I'm 43. I would say 10-20. Lots of friends, sports and laughs. Big family, very few worries - a roof over my head and food were never a concern. Special things like relationships, travel, my own home, and a career happened later, but 10-20 was pretty blissful (apart from some late teen woes, of course!)

Fan ovens - backward step?

35 to 40 years ago, my mum bought a new *electric fan oven. It had a great feature. Door closed, fan on. Door open, fan stopped.

So, opening the door to check the food and you don't get blasted with scolding air. Oh, and the oven temperature didn't dip by about 20c.

Haven't seen that feature in the last 7 or 8 ovens I've had.

Why didn't this great feature became mainstream?

I'm sure a fair percentage of people reading this have never seen anything but electric ovens 🤣

Why is it so hard for shoe shops and companies to accommodate people with bigger feet?!

I’m a woman and a size 8 foot, not only that I have wide feet and the shoes I need to wear have to have a bigger heel and sides to support my feet and to accommodate my insoles.

Why is it so hard for these shoe companies and shops to either not supply bigger shoes or to have them online only, like no I don’t want to buy the shoes so that I probably have to go through the hassle of having a refund.

Plus I swear there’s a big market for women with bigger feet! I’m honestly so sick and tired of not being able to just go into a shop and buy shoes then and there.

Best dentist in Cardiff?

Need to switch dentists in Cardiff and looking for recommendations. Ideally somewhere that’s good for regular check ups but also does more complex work if needed without it feeling rushed or salesy.

I’ve had mixed experiences locally so just trying to find somewhere reliable that people actually stick with long term.

We are looking for a quiet seaside town to have a night away with our dog, ideally not overly touristy but with some nice shops/attractions and possibly somewhere for a pub tea.
Would love a clean, pleasant beach to walk the dog on!
We’re in Greater Manchester, happy to drive a few hours, thanks!
