Normal Garage Assembly?

I recently bought a house from a builder. This is how the interior of the garage doors are finished - exposed 2x4s around the entire perimeter of the doors. I’ve always had finished openings/jams in prior houses. Is this normal? What sort of risks does this carry overtime?

cracks

This is the back of my garage. I generally try to keep the gutters cleaned out but there are times when the water overflows out of the gutter on this corner. the pouredd wall extends about 6 feet into the ground.

I Just happened to notice these 2 cracks.

How screwed am I?
