Was Cacofonix's music bad, or just ahead of it's time?

Given the Gaul's reaction to the Beatles parody in the books (its bad, while everyone else there loves it) I wonder if Cacofonix is a genius born too early, or is in fact just terrible? The gods clearly also hate it, but maybe its like old men not appreciating modern music?

Invictissimus

The year is 50 BC. In Antium lives young Marcus Sebastianus, seemingly ordinary Roman man. In reality, he is the son of Nolanix, outlander from Gaul, known to the Senate and People of Rome as superhero VIR VICTOR. At 17 years old Marcus finds out he inherited his father's powers and decides to be his own hero, known as [titlecard.jpg]

I have a question About the countries that Asterix visited

Who were all of the gods from different pantheons that appeared in the story of the Asterix franchise?

Chess game / Marble / Mayfair

Hi everyone,
my father has one of the Asterix themed chess boards, in marble and tin figures.
How do you estimate the market value? And does anyone know how many circulations exist? Because on his certificate it says „no. 1098“, but I wonder how many there are in total.
Thank you

Fulliautomatix Art

I usually omit Fulliautomatix’s apron whenever I draw him but his apron is always too small on him in the comic!

Also I prefer his ginger hair as opposed to his blond hair.

my Tomadachi Life Asterix, Obelix, and Dogmatix

After buying a stylus for drawing in this game I took my hand at making a Dogmatix pet, it’s been a hit with these two.
I wanted to have them live in little huts, so I made a small sub-island for them to have that looks Gaul-esque.

List of Hodder books?

Hi all, first post here but a long-time Asterix reader.

Does anybody have a really good reference list of Asterix titles published in the UK? Particularly the Hodder / Brockhampton ones from the 60s/70s/80s, and with release dates, covers, other details?

In particular, I've recently started to add the Brockhampton/Knight Books B&W paperbacks from the 1970s to my collection, but I'm unclear how many there are. I've seen a solid reference webpage to eight titles having been published in this B&W landscape format, but I've also seen tentative references to other titles elsewhere. But unable to get a definite answer.

Just for reference, this is the list of B&W titles I've seen comprehensive confirmation of:

  • Asterix The Gaul (1972)
  • Asterix in Britain (1972)
  • Asterix and Cleopatra (1973)
  • Asterix the Gladiator (1973)
  • Asterix the Legionary (1973)
  • Asterix and the Big Fight) (1976??, TBC)
  • Asterix in Spain (1976??, TBC)
  • Asterix at the Olympic Games (1975??, TBC)

There are other entries showing as published by Knight Books on the British National Bibliography and I've seen a copy of 'Switzerland' that says it was first published in 1972, but not sure if these are the B&W ones or the later colour A5 editions.

Any pointers to good reference sites welcomed.
