Looking for an apartment/duplex in/near Athens, GA (not a student)

Hey everyone! I'm currently looking for a 1-2 bedroom apartment or duplex in or around Athens, GA and was hoping you all might have some recommendations.

My budget is around $1,400–$1,600/month, but I'm willing to be flexible for the right place. I'm looking for somewhere that's in a safe area, well-maintained, and preferably pet-friendly (if possible).

I'm hoping to move within the next month, so if you know of any apartment complexes, duplexes, private landlords, or upcoming openings, I'd really appreciate it! I've been checking Zillow, Apartments.com, and Facebook Marketplace, but I know some of the best rentals are found through word of mouth.

I'd also love to hear about any places I should avoid.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations!

Deep House Cleaner Recs?

Hey fellow Athenians!

I'm moving into a family home that was being rent out for a bit but the previous tenants abandoned the lease and completely trashed the home :( It was boarding on hoarder territory with huge piles of trash stacked in every corner but luckily we were able to get everything cleared out before bugs became an issue.

I need any recommendations that are priced fairly for a deep house scrub down. The home itself is not big, it's only 1,248sqft but I need it done ASAP so I can begin my move in.

Please HELP!! Thank you <3

Looking for 1B1B or studio recommendations

Hi everyone,

I’m an incoming PhD student at UGA starting this fall, and I’m currently looking for housing in Athens. I’m mainly interested in a studio or 1B1B apartment, ideally under $1,300/month.

I’m hoping to find a place with a good living experience overall: reasonably quiet, safe, responsive maintenance, and not too many major issues with pests, noise, or management. I do have a car, so it doesn’t have to be walking distance to campus, but a reasonable drive to UGA would be nice.

I’ve been looking at some apartment communities and Zillow listings, but it’s hard to tell which places are actually good to live in. I’d really appreciate any recommendations, personal experiences, or places to avoid.

Thanks in advance!
