Lish, Rhyne, & Angel are the first trio to have 20+ points and 3+ steals in a game

Defensively, she’s been an absolute difference-maker for the Dream, whose defensive rating is 14.9 points better with her on the floor than off of it. That’s (by far) the best mark in the WNBA; the Dream allow 14.9 more points per 100 possessions with Reese sidelined, per Hoops Junkie.
The next best defensive rating point differential? That belongs to Jackie Young at -11.5. The Las Vegas Aces are 11.5 points per possession worse defensively when Young is sidelined, and it shows. But Reese’s defensive on-off numbers are in a league of their own.
Part of that is due to her switchability and length, but part of it is due to something far less quantifiable: a motor and energy that few hoopers embody.

26 — Angel Reese (2024)
24 — Angel Reese (this season)

Ladies and Gentlemen, Elvis has left the building! The Atlanta Dream snap the losing skid against the Aces, and rightfully doing so in dominant fashion.
JC brought immediate impact on both sides of the court
Madina Okot was productive off the bench
Naz with some big stops
But more importantly it was the play of Rhyne Howard, Angel Reese, and Allisha Gray.
While Howard struggled to shoot the ball, she did the little things on defense and made some big baskets late.
What a bounce back from Angel after all of the ridiculous trolling she received after botching several layups on Sunday. She goes for 21 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists. And played amazing defense against the GOAT Aja Wilson.
And then Lish was classic Lish
It always feels so good to beat the Evil Empire!!!
Here’s the deal
Atlanta Dream clinch a playoff berth this weekend with the following scenarios
Beat LA Thursday and Phoenix Saturday, AND Portland loses Friday to Toronto
We can clinch on Monday IF
WE Win all 3 of the remaining road games on this road trip.
Either of these scenarios will clinch a playoff berth
Her lower left leg is an issue I’ve noticed she doesn’t have a ton of stability in that leg. She’s had a couple instances she “blew a tire” on layups where her leg is giving out.
She won’t land on it either if you notice she comes down on her right leg almost every single time

Ideally, which team do we want to play in R1? What seed do we want to be at and what’s most likely considering the remaining schedule?
If playoffs started today, we’re at the #5 seed playing Fever in Indiana.
Tbh a lot of the frontcourt issues stem from Bri not being healthy. Angel’s been forced to play the 5 most of year, while Karl stubbornly plays Naz like 30 min a game. Naz is a fine floor spacer, and communicates well but she is simply too small on defense and teams are attacking her. Even when she plays good defense, her opponent easily shoots over her.
Angel has finishing issues yes, but the defense/rebounding tends to fall apart when she’s off the floor.
Bri’s injury has put this team in a tough spot this season because two starting bigs are basically playing out of position. And Karl refuses to play Madina in favorable matchups.
Dan (GM) is going to have to make some decisions in the offseason.

whats the answer
First off, English is not my first language so forgive my ignorance here. I tend to pronounce everything deliberately and phonetically out of habit. Everybody pronounces her name the same as the name "Ryan" (RYE-un). My girlfriend's sister is named "Rhyne" and her name is pronounced the same as "Rhine" as in the River (rhyming with "fine" or "line"). So which is it? Every time an announcer says "RYE-ANNE" under my breath I say "Rhiiiiine". Are people just mispronouncing it or is Rhyne Howard's pronunciation different than the literal spelling?
