going to the game tomorrow, what should i know ahead of time?

this will be my first pro sports event so i have truly no idea what to expect! i’m SO excited, started watching the W last year after never knowing a thing about any sport.

we are staying near the airport & plan to uber there, sitting in section 105 row C. i have a few questions and would also love any other pro tips y’all might have for me!!!

what time should we aim to get to the arena?
what should i wear? does it tend to be cold in the arena?
is section 105 in gateway a pretty good view?
moreso a general question, what is the etiquette for going to a home game but pulling for the away team? i loveee AR, rhyne & lish BUT it’s PB5 til i die. ATL crowd seemed so hype for their team against the aces and i’m not trying to piss anyone off hahaha

any other tips or good to know things that y’all can let me in on would be much appreciated!!! thank you!

Just an FYI This reddit is for Atlanta Dream Fans.....There are subs to talk crap about our players but this isn't the place...

If you want to troll or only critique Atlanta Dream players leave!!! Go post in other W subs. Lets have a great season! Go Dream!

I don't know how to cheer for Angel Reese.

I hope she proves me wrong, because I am still cheering for her (while she's on my team).

Game 1 she was ranting at Okot, just all over her, in the few minutes they shared the floor. Way to build up the rook. But that block to win was awesome! Then I have to watch her zero post moves. Just a flail and hope to get fouled, pout if you don't. And the hissy fits if she doesn't get the ball when she wants it? This isn't the Sky. We're trying to win a championship. You're at best the 4th best player on the team. Stop with the too small taunts and flexing while losing like in game 2. We're here to win, not be a showcase for your double double streak on a losing team.

That said, she makes passes most bigs miss. If she doesn't pump fake a three and travel like she did twice against the Aces, then I love the ball in her hands. She attracts a crowd and kicks it out well or makes really solid interior passes for layups.

I cannot stress enough what a great rebounder she is. As long as she has competition. She misses easy box outs and did in the Aces game. As the announcers were praising Okots plus minus, it was just Reese not being there. Someone needs to get in her ear and let her know that she is not a WNBA star yet. No matter what Instagram likes and announcers say.

Hawks fan here

just finished the game. immediately hooked. wanna finally make the conscious effort to actively support this team. was looking to get some need-to-knows here.

what i do know:
-Rhyne Howard is our star
-Angel Reese was our big acquisition this off season
-(off a one game sample) Madina Okot is a future starter

questions from one game:
-is Allisha Gray is the Robin to Rhyne’s usual Batman?
-is Jordin Canada typically expected to have great games like this?
-is Te-Hina Paopao the future?
-is Angel Reese usually better? i’m expecting it to be a coin flip game to game. seems like Okot already reliably does a lot of what Angel was brought in to do.

if there are any other Hawks fans in here, can you give me the closest Hawks equivalent of every player in this Dream core?

Angel has to breakout today

The aces aren’t particularly big at all allow a ton of rebounds and points in the paint. transition should be money and using screens she could see herself in a lot of mismatches. With no rhyne Howard this is her time to be more involved with the offense too.

Aneesah morrow is 6”1 she put her head down and fearlessly attacked and despite being inefficient she got 16 and 11. AT has two bad shoulders she got 20.

And listen it’s Aja Wilson you’re gonna get blocked but if you can get 15 on Aja you can get 25 on the rest of the league

Also with rhyne out I’m ready to see Indya nivar aaliyah nye and Izzy get some real minutes
