Audi A6 3.0 Is it timing chain?
Hello so the problem occurred on the strat up. I’m concerned about my timing chain because it’s really expensive fix

Installed a Wireless Apple CarPlay kit into my older Audi recently and honestly it makes the car feel 10 years newer 😭
Still keeps:
• OEM look
• factory controls
• steering wheel buttons
• original MMI system
No ugly tablet screens or cheap stick-on displays.
Probably one of the best mods I’ve done to the interior so far.
What third-party extended warranties do you guys normally use after the manufacturer warranty expires? I have a 2019 A6 3.0T and I am debating on whether to get one or put away the money for when needed.
For those that have warranty, have you been successfully able to use it to fix issues or given the run around?
I have some estimates in the range of $4000-5000 for 48mo/100k miles.
It’s been a good run, but tomorrow my 2015 A6 C7 will be going to a new home. I will miss it a ton..
I have an Audi A6 c8 21. In previous services I’ve been told that my brake pads have some decent amount of life in them however. When I’m breaking from 80/90 sometimes less if I have more people on the car I hear a groaning sound accompanied with vibrations, the car dies brakes but it doesn’t instill much confidence, I’ve been a Chevy bolt and it brakes better. Wanted to know if anyone has experienced this before. Also a weird grinding like noise is heard when braking on slippery surfaces.
Note that braking from other speeds is completely fine
I got a 2012 A6 3.0T with the last time I saw it 144k miles. I'm gonna be swapping my truck out for it soon and I've really wanted to mod it for awhile. Reading and researching, I've had some doubts come up in the mileage area since she is decently high mileage, has a slight oil consumption problem that I think is a leak from my shitty job of a rushed oil change, but she got the timing chain done about 8-10k ago now. It's been driven slightly since I left so I'm not sure about the exact mileage. But overtime here I want to get it to stage 2 tune area with the upgraded cooling, crank pulley, tune, possibly driveshaft centering support, but I wanted some experts since I'm not the most well versed in german engineering if its even worth it to sink 5k+ into a 14 yr old car with 144k miles in it? and yeah its paid off.
Has anybody seen this? Worth it?
Bought this clean title c7 Audi a6 with 139k miles a few days ago from someone who got it from an auction. The asking price was $3,500, but I managed to bring it down to $2,900.
The only issue is that the radiator fans only work when the A/C is on at full speed, it also has a catalytic converter malfunction code.
Do you guys think it was a good deal?
Also, any idea what could be causing the radiator fan issue or how to fix it?
Hey everyone, I’m trying to figure out an intermittent issue with my 2016 Audi A6 3.0T Quattro and wanted to see if anyone here has dealt with something similar.
The issue happens pretty randomly. Sometimes the car will drive perfectly fine for days, then out of nowhere it’ll stall/shut off when I come to a stop. I’ve noticed it seems more likely after driving the car for a longer period during the day.
A few things I’ve noticed:
I get a “Faulty Auto Start/Stop” message sometimes
The car occasionally shakes a little when I park before shutting off
It’s about a 50/50 chance whether it immediately restarts after stalling
If it stalls and I just hit the start button while still “on,” it cranks but struggles
If I fully power the car off first, then start it again, it usually fires right back up normally
The problem comes and goes — it can disappear for days and then happen repeatedly again
Battery was tested around 85%
Battery was replaced/reprogrammed already

I had said no to a new plug-in hybrid but she absolutely wants this A6 and I don't dare say no. I got an offer I couldn't say no to. Now I can have my car in peace and this one is pretty nice anyway. Peace at home is important and now I get to do my thing
hello everyone..
i have a older A6 that needs tyres all round
it's a 2005 A6 Quattro with the V6 3.2 FSI petrol engine
can anyone comnent about which are the best tyres and why ?
I don't just mean brands, i mean grip rating / tread pattern etc
i live in SW England which can be very wet - and rhe roads are awful
is it really just as simple as 'get 4 tyres, the best you can afford ?
I am aware that some of the former top brands have dropped in quality - Pirelli for example
thanks !
I can’t seem to find a good video to replace the bottom light strip. Is there another issue possibly? I can remove the tail light fairly easily I’m just not sure where to go from there.
was told/ hoping it’s my belts. Both of them are loose. Any chance anyone knows what’s wrong?
I have a 2017 audi a6 quattro prestige 3.0 that has this master cylinder in it. I ordered one off ebay and they sent the 2.0 model. All oem sites are out of stock and say I need to buy a bunch of different parts. Any help would be appreciated
