I have a 2014 Audi A6, 3-litre diesel. Really lovely car to drive, but one that drives me nuts.
I have already had a major transmission issue which required a new transmech unit (?) - a $4000 ‘investment’ after the previous one failed.
Since then, no issues until recently.
A month ago, I went to start it, and it couldn’t manage more than one pitiful little attempt to crank it over, and the entire dashboard lit up with ‘system failure’ for pretty much everything.
I got a local mechanic to come out. Hooked up to his system and jumped it, and everything went back to normal. I assumed a one-off rayher than a battery problem.
Again, no issues until yesterday when it did it again, so I jumped it again, and away I went - for about 15mins - and then it completely shat itself on the motorway.
This time, it was a flatbed journey home where it’s now sitting there mocking me.
I’ve kicked the wheel. Nothing
I’ve sworn at it. Nothing
I’ve told it that I prefer BMW. Nothing
I even said that Audi was lucky to win at Le Mans in 2014. Oh yes, I played dirty. But nothing worked.
So, maybe a battery change …but it’s bloody Audi ffs. Nothing’s easy. A simple battery change then needs a re-calibration of almost everything by a computer module I don’t have.

Any suggestions? Anyone?

I’m relatively new to the world of VAG diagnostics and programming, and I’m trying to learn as much as possible from people with real experience.

I’m especially interested in ODIS, GEKO access, and how OEM-level diagnostics and online/offline functions work in practice. I’d like to understand what is actually needed to get started, as well as the real differences between OEM tools and aftermarket solutions.

Right now I’m also working on a retrofit project on an Audi A6 C6 (2005) where I’m trying to install a 2009 instrument cluster into the older car. Because of that, I’m dealing with things like component protection, adaptation, and coding, so I’d really appreciate any advice or shared experience from people who have done similar swaps.

In general, I’d also like to learn more about module adaptation, coding, replacements, and how everything ties together in the VAG ecosystem in real-world conditions.

My goal is to understand the system properly and build solid knowledge, so any guidance, tips, or explanations would be highly appreciated.

Ich muss gerade einfach mal Dampf ablassen und bin gespannt, ob es anderen Audi-Fahrern ähnlich ergangen ist.

Mein A6 Avant e-tron ist etwa einen Monat alt. Seit Anfang an häufen sich bei mir gleich mehrere Probleme mit der App und den digitalen Funktionen:

- Der digitale Schlüssel (den man extra bezahlt!) bzw. die Einrichtung (mein iPhone 15 Pro ist kompatibel) funktioniert gar nicht.
- Die Ladezustandsanzeige des Akkus fehlt komplett in der App
- Die Standklimatisierung ließ sich nicht über die App starten – ausgerechnet während der aktuellen Hitzewelle

Ich habe unzählige Screenshots an den Support geschickt und das Auto für zwei Tage in die Werkstatt gebracht. Ergebnis: Ich habe es heute unverrichteter Dinge wieder abgeholt, nichts wurde behoben. Und weil das laut Werkstatt "kein gravierender Fehler" sei, hätte ich angeblich auch keinen Anspruch auf ein Ersatzfahrzeug. Also bin ich die zwei Tage mit dem Bus hin- und hergefahren, weil ich nicht einsehe, für einen Fehler zu zahlen, den Audi verursacht hat.

Für ein Neufahrzeug in dieser Preisklasse finde ich das ehrlich gesagt ziemlich enttäuschend.

Frage an die Community: Hattet ihr ähnliche Probleme beim A6 e-tron oder anderen aktuellen Audi-Modellen?

Looking to buy 2016 A6 with 76,500 in metallic blue/nougat brown interior at a used dealer Wednesday if all checks out. Car looks mint and clean, but apparently dealer has been driving it around as personal car for the past few weeks it’s been there im assuming. Should I be concerned with this? The dealer has it listed at $15,500 with one original owner. I’m planning on trading in my 2013 Passat at 190k with a lot of bumps and bruises on it to make the deal a little more bearable- car comes with 6 month warranty. Is there anything I should be concerned of at this mileage? I know the water pumps have a tendency to have issues, but anything else I should look out for? And does $15,500 seem reasonable?

Found a 2019 with 24k in great condition. Dealer maintained. Comes with convenience pkg and cold weather package.

My research is showing that the 2019 is a bad year for the A6. I want the car, but I’m worried that I might be buying a lot of problems. Can anyone who owns a 19 a6 with the 3.0t give their opinion?

Title. Thinking about tuning my 2017 A6. Just wondering what the most reliable stage 1 tune is. Don’t plan on launching the car/go to Mexico. It’s my daily so probably just a tune and a few bolt on goodies to wake the car up.

Hello everyone. I have a 2016 a6 c7. The MMI system is pretty poor and outdated and I want to upgrade it. It's the RMC software version so as far as I learned I'll need to update the hardware. Has anyone on here done this before and have any recommendations on any specific brands or what way to go about it in general? Is it something that is DIY-able?

Has anyone successfully swapped out the front windscreen washer jets on the Audi A6 C8 to get a modern mist/fan spray?

I just moved over to a C8 and was really disappointed to find out it uses the old school triple stream spray pattern instead of a wide curtain mist. My Golf Mk7 has the mist style and it covered the glass so much better.

I know the stream style is factory design for the C8, but I am looking to retrofit fan style nozzles from another VAG car.

Anyone know if this can be done or done this mod? What part numbers did you use for the swap? Did you manage to keep the heated nozzle function working? Was it a direct plug and play fit under the bonnet?

Any advice, links, or part numbers would be massively appreciated!
