r/AusPostComplaints

Just give a call or ring the bell instead of sending to the lpo for collection. Just put it in a locker . Fucks sake.

Ordered a part to get my rwc. Asked them to drop it of in the building collection but no they want to ruin my day and throw it in the local lpo which opens after i go for work and closes before i leave work. Genuinely why can auspost just hold out their closing time till 7-8 pm.

Or just throw it in a locker where i can collect it after work. How do we take delivery from the lpo Without taking a day off.

Atleast open early or just close Late

Raising stamp prices to $1.85 while cutting local deliveries down to a crawl is insane.

So the ACCC is greenlighting the jump to $1.85 for a basic stamp from mid-year, and AusPost is already planning to hike it by another 20 cents in 2027 and 2028. Can someone explain the logic of charging more for a service that they have actively made worse? Local letters take over a week now under the "modernized" timetable, and half the time my gas bills arrive after the actual due date. If the letters section is running at a massive loss, maybe stop blowing millions on corporate rebranding and actually deliver the mail.

Auspost International Compensation

Hello! I sent a teapot to the US. I did not pay insurance but the item was under $100.

The item was clearly labelled fragile and the teapot arrived damaged. Do I have any chance at getting compensation for this? I'm not sure how to go about it as i've never had to do it before, especially with an international parcel.

I also have plenty of photos from the buyer.

Any help would be appreciated :)

How to let postman in AusPost keep in the front door

Instead of putting in AusPost 1.2km far from my home without calling and ringing bell?
I bought 2 packs of 11kg soil and he took an attempt photo of unknown road where even not in front of my home🤯
Last time he came and he didn’t ring, I was waiting him and saw he just came, and took a photo and ready to leave.

Way to go Auspost

When attempting to claim for an apparently destroyed item shipped from NSW.

“…MADELEY WA 6065 I am sorry to report this item has been affected by a truck fire. That truck departed Sydney, NSW on 14 March 2026, loaded with Parcel Post items heading to Western Australia. We are working as quickly as possible to retrieve and recover any items from the truck but unfortunately your item has been destroyed. As the incident was not caused or contributed to by Australia Post, I am unable to provide compensation for the contents. “

Why pay insurance when they refuse to compensate for an item destroyed in an Australia Post truck? It’s ridiculous of course.

Did your shipping costs just jump again this week because of the "May Surcharge"?

I just went to send a medium satchel and realized the fuel surcharge has hit 12% for May (up from 4.8% last month). I'm hearing it might hit 19.5% in June. Is it even worth selling on eBay/Marketplace right now when the shipping cost is nearly half the item's value? Is anyone else seeing "Delivery Fees" on their online orders being adjusted after checkout because of these monthly surcharge spikes?

Facebook Marketplace Tracking Concern

I bought an item on Facebook marketplace and the guy agreed to ship it,
He sent me this screenshot: when I put this number into my tracking nothing pops up and I get an error message. It also doesn’t look like all the other tracking numbers I get.
Should I be concerned???
If it’s not a tracking number, what is it?
Please let me know.

Why do tracked letters take so damn long to register?

I send a mix of small parcels via Aus Post business labels, and tracked letters using Aus Post prepaid envelopes. When I lodge them at the post office directly everything is fine. But when I drop them in the mail collection at my work (collected daily) the parcels get registered and marked as "on its way!" quickly while the letters can wait up to three days as "pending" before being registered. This is so frustrating, what is behind the delay?
