Where tf do you find the actual SM scheduling/attendance policy?

Real question for the other zoners/managers on here.
Is there an actual written policy somewhere in Znet about Store Manager scheduling/attendance expectations?

Like:
required closes
Sundays/weekends
minimum hours
call-outs
coverage expectations
etc
I keep hearing completely different answers depending on the store/district and I’m trying to figure out what the actual expectation is supposed to be.
Anybody know where it’s hidden in Znet or Doc what document/training it’s under?

Does Autozone sell distilled water?

The antifreeze concentrate says mix with distilled water.

Is there a part number or SKU for distilled water?

Any reason Zoners aren’t organizing?

Autozone is already notorious for low wages and high stress, but with all these new stores being opened it’s got me thinking. Can we go on some sort of strike to fight for better pay? Would it require us to unionize? We know corporate actively fights to keep labor costs as low as possible at the expense of employees, but opening hundreds of new stores across the world with 0 going back to employees feels like a slap in the face. We’re only worth as much as we reject the status quo.

Found this life-hack. Is it safe to do this before my 1,000-mile road trip?

It says 'no injury to tyres' and that 'a boy can re-groove perfect non-skids at first attempt,' so I figure I'm good to go, right?"

Looking another job or perhaps a transfer OUT!

So, we have this fairly new redshirt at work. At first I was excited to have another female close to my age to work with. That was UNTIL her personality really started to show.
First time I closed with her (Me a Gray shirt, her my closing red)- She took the WHOLE positive terminal off and put the battery in backwards when she changed a battery. Being a gray shirt I told her that we don’t have to take the whole terminal off with the battery and that she had put the new battery in backwards. She had a meltdown called the SM in tears and told him I was being mean and speaking hatefully to her. My SM has worked with me for years and has never once heard me speak hatefully to anyone so he didn’t buy into that. She shut down and didn’t do ANY work that night just stayed on her phone and walked outside to smoke.

Two days later when she and I worked together again she asked to speak with me. During this conversation she totally insulted me. Told me I had “Resting Bitch Voice” and even though I didn’t do anything to her, my voice made her not like me, and that she would rather eat glass than ask me for anything. Being a Gray shirt I HAD to keep a professional demeanor I held back SO many things I wanted to say. My SM upon hearing about this said nothing to her, did NOTHING to her but got onto me.

Second time I worked with her SM wasn’t there. She harassed me the entire shift. Interrupting me and speaking loudly to the customers about NOTHING right in the middle of me cashing them out. She would come up behind me and sing at the top of her lungs while I was auditing drawers, She shook the counter when I was doing a return while loudly exclaiming to the customer that she was indeed drinking that night. I looked at her and said “Please stop shaking the counter” she looked at me, got all huffy, puffy and retorted in a loud hood rat tone “What did you say to me?!” I replied and once again said “I said stop shaking the counter please” all shift long I kept taking the high road.
(Mind you she is a red shirt and I am a PSM)
Another PSM who had been watching this go on all day heard her on the phone to her girl saying “That blonde bitch ain’t seen my full petty yet, but she will soon” well that PSM called the SM and told him “PSM is not the problem our new red shirt is the problem” and filled him in on the Bullshit that she had done and said to me all day.

Two days after that I close with her. SM is there he takes us in the back and wants us to hash it out. She rolled out with the “offended by everything, ashamed of nothing attitude” acting innocent. I explained to her that her behavior is harassing and borders on bullying. She just pulled one of those loud fake laughs and said that since she was a little woman and black there is no way she could be a bully. SM STILL crawled up my ass. This throughly pissed me off. Later my SM told me he got onto me, even though I did nothing wrong because, it was fair that since he got onto her he had to get onto me too. That night at closing she again did no work and stayed in commercial sitting on her ass and eating, left me up front all alone. I told my SM (no big about me doing the store by myself I can handle it, but again NOTHING was said to her) She still harasses me, SM does nothing. She has insulted the military in front of me, (I’m a Vet, Family is full of Vets (mother, father, bio sister and she knows I have a child in the military) insulted Southerners in front of me calling us slow, dimwitted and inferior. (She’s from up north and relocated here to the South). She has also tried to say I am racist as well (I’m white but She does not know my son is half Vietnamese and my adopted Sister is blacker than she is) I have always kept myself professional and not once did I engage in her behavior. But she cries victim and I get my ass chewed out. Now I’m a PSM that is trained across the board in the store. I can handle, DIY, commercial, have a valid MVR, paperwork is always on point, PCI’s are always done and store stock always put back up basically everything. My Former SM caught wind of what I was going through and asked how I felt. I told him that as a PSM I felt my SM did not have my back and after hearing the whole story offered me a position in his store. He told me that my current SM should have stopped her behavior from the start, and that he would be proud to have me in his store and he would have my back. So Zoner to Zoners do you think I should tell AZ to kiss my ass or accept my former SM’s offer and ask for the transfer?

Stuck in a loop

Hello all. Ive been trying to go into the comerical specialist role for the longest now. Im comming up on what is a year at autozone at 19 years old. Ive loved the experiences ive had. But experinces doesnt pay bills. We all know starting its 12/hr. That isn't nearly enough. I bust my ass for my store all day. Im a comerical driver with still not pay increase. Ive been comerical specialist when the actual specialist is out. Ive proved time and time again I can take up the task which is comerical. Even PSM its really not hard. Ive done all the task the manager traning workbook has asked of me. All I get is "soon we will talk". Im not one to cry or beg. But when its constant let downs. I grow tired. I had to transfer stores cause my first store was so small we didnt even have comerical. On top of that they promised me a promotion to PSM. What did they say? I have to earn it. They went and hired a lady. Who she was very cool. But ended up quiting bc it was "too much". Before then I had transferred. Again promised the same. My store manager, said he was working on it. I believed him because he is a family friend and he said he was talking to my district manager. Showed proof as well. Then they transferred him to another store shortly after we got Inventory. Ive grown tired of this because my new store manager has said the same. Now its been nothing but slow. After a altercation that one of my fellow Co workers had with a customer resulting in him being let go. I thought that position would finally be mine. Only to be told nothing once again. Our CSM stepped down to CS. He was traning me to be CS. So when our CS quit I thought it would be my turn. No he got his friend to be his CSM and he became CS. Now ive worked my ass of 40 hours every week. To be told nothing and mislead. Truly is hard to love a place Im very good at. When I cant even get a promotion for my skills. Im bilingual. I know cars because me and my dad work on them. He is a ASE mechanic. Now im at a point where idk whether to just leave or stay and wait some more. Please give advice!

Thanks.

I don't need a caliper.

You're just trying to sell me stuff. I don't need a caliper. Or a hose. Or new brakes. Just the rotor. I'm a certified master tech.

AutoZone system glitch holding $260+ for a year. Chime denied the dispute. Any DMs or store managers know how to override this?

Hey y'all, looking for advice from actual AutoZone employees, managers, or anyone who has dealt with this corporate system BS.

Long story short: About a year ago, I placed three online orders totaling $261.05. I never picked them up. The physical parts are still in their inventory, and they still have my money.

I contacted AutoZone corporate customer service twice. An agent named Arthur literally admitted in writing via email: "We are sorry to hear this you never picked up these orders... we would advise you to dispute the charges with your bank." They straight up told me their retail system physically will not allow them to press the refund button because it’s past 90 days.

To make it worse, Chime is completely useless. I filed a dispute and a reinvestigation, attached the literal screenshot of AutoZone admitting they have my money/parts and telling me to dispute it, and Chime’s brain-dead automated system still denied it twice.

I’m done dealing with the front-line email bots. I am preparing a formal Demand Letter to send to corporate headquarters in Memphis and looking into filing a CFPB complaint against Chime, but I want to know if there's a way to get this handled remotely.

For the store managers or District Managers here: I’m currently away at Job Corps and can’t physically go into an AutoZone store in person to fix this. Is there an internal system workaround, corporate ticket escalation, or a DM override that can force a remote refund (like corporate mailing a check out or forcing a digital credit) to settle this without me stepping foot in a shop?

I have all the receipts, order numbers, and the email chain proving they have the money. What is my best move to force their hand? Appreciate any inside insight.

The latest batch of extra miler stories.

Do these people even work at the same company as the rest of us? Taking off during rush hour to pick up a control cable from a dealer for a comm customer? Delivering bottles of oil to someone stuck on the side of the road?

I got nothing against helping a customer in need. Hell, Toyotas with 17825 starters are becoming a running joke at my store now that I've replaced three or four of them in the parking lot when the ones in the vehicle lasted just long enough to make it to our store before giving up the blue smoke.

But I don't know of ANY stores where someone can up and take off without creating a catastrophic workload increase on the people still inside.

Hiring and Background Check

This may be normal for Autozone or retail automotive stores, but I have not seen this before. I have a family member who applied with the local Autozone, had an interview, and was offered a job, all within the span of a few days. Autozone sent them a formal electronic notice, I think it was email, with a start date, all the salary and benefit info, etc., and said it wanted them available on Monday, May 11. They accepted the offer, which arrived on a Monday afternoon, and they then gave their current employer one week's notice so they could be available to start on the requested date at Autozone. Monday comes around, and the store says, "We are still waiting on your background check." WTF? Is that normal? I have never heard of a company making a formal offer of employment with a start date, only to then tell the new employee, " We have to now wait for your background check to see if you qualify".

The family member is now jobless and has no idea how long the background check will take. They had previously worked for the same company for 7 years in an automotive repair shop. Now they have no income. Has this happened to you, or is this normal for Autozone hiring?

Thanks in advance for any advice or insight into how Autozone hires. The family member is extremely excited to begin a career with Autozone, but now feels they are being strung along and need to start working. They have bills to pay.

FYI - Position is retail/delivery; they are 25, have no criminal history, never been in a car accident, and have worked the same automotive service station job since high school in 2019.

I'm tired of AutoZone

Our store is overrun with homeless people and District manager won't do anything. Every morning we clear them out and every night they come back.
