Am I terminated even if I can still login my schedule??

I did something very stupid and I am aware that I did but I had requested 3 days off for July 3-5th due to a family event.. I submitted my requests months prior (February) and I thought maybe that should work and I told my sm about it.. I was talking about it for a while that I have a family member getting married. my days got rejected 3 weeks prior and I asked my sm the reason why but he was so vague about it. I would’ve understood if we cannot call off on holidays or any other reasons but I didn’t specifically called off on July 4th if it wasn’t because of a wedding I could’ve cared less and worked

At first I thought someone else requested the days which I would’ve also understood but in the end no one requested those days so I was confused, I asked my sm I need coverage and I was told to find it and I’m like huh? I tried to find coverage but no one could do it and even one of my psm asked him if she can help but no answer.. I thought he would’ve done the courtesy to at least help ??

I had no choice but to do a no call no show and yes I feel very sorry and stupid for that. The issue is it’s been planned since months I payed for my trip I payed for other things and there was no refund I felt if I didn’t went it would be money down the drain.. I am probably terminated but my manager still made the schedule and I am still able to log in my work schedule app but I don’t know if I’m still in the system or I am out of the system???

Getting trained to become a grey shirt in my 3rd week.

I got hired at my local autozone as a part time sales associate/commercial driver. The store does fairly well, often being the top performer of the main 3 in my area. From the minute they hired me I was already being told they wanted to train me to become a manager. I have some prior sales experience but wasn’t close to as bad as autozone is, I question if this is fairly common? I look at the other red shirts who have been there longer than me and wonder why they weren’t offered a promotion, anything I should look out for or be careful of?

Is it advertised anywhere that AZ replaces batteries anymore?

I saw someone post something mentioning that it is no longer advertised because of too many problems with issues caused by people getting their battery installed. I've noticed that the signage on the front of our store just mentions testing and charging.

I went to the website and the only thing I see is ot mentioning testing, charging, and recycling.

There is a section where it is carefully worded that we will "replace" as help find a new one, not "install".

Also the new people that have been getting hired for the past year or so either aren't going to foundations anymore or aren't being taught how to do batteries because they come in clueless on everything as if thry didn't go to the same "class" that I went to. Granted, they haven't been the most intelligent individuals in general.

Might be getting promoted? Can a psm/asm/sm explain these to me a bit more?

I’m pretty sure I understand but I just want more clarification

Getting promoted to gray shirt after only 3 months but feel bad about a longer term coworker + messy management situation. Advice on learning fast as a new leader?

I’m 18 and I’ve been with AutoZone for about 2.5–3 months. The team has decided to promote me to a gray shirt and while I’m grateful for the opportunity and the trust they’ve placed in me I want to handle this the right way. I have a coworker who’s been here a year and has expressed strong interest in the role so I want to be respectful of that while stepping up effectively. The situation feels a bit complicated because the store and regional managers mentioned that once I’m fully qualified they plan to make some adjustments with the current management structure and have me take on more responsibility. Even though performance expectations haven’t always been met in every area my focus is on being a positive leader who supports the entire team and helps drive better results for everyone. I’m very committed to earning this role through hard work and growth. I’d like to learn as much as possible about the responsibilities operations, team development, customer service standards, and everything in between so I can contribute meaningfully from the start. At the same time I know real leadership comes with hands on experience, and I’m eager to learn on the job while supporting my teammates and putting the store’s success first.
Any tips will be greatly appreciated.

Promotion Advice

First time honestly posting on social media-
(Always been kinda a spectator)

I’m getting promoted to ASM fairly quickly. I’ve been with the company for about 2 years, and would like some advice on how to be a good ASM or some things that they wish they were told when they first started out.

I’ve seen a lot of people talk about this company both positive and negative. It has its quirks but I truly take pride working here at Autozone. I truly want to learn how to lead my new store, and be there for my new team.

That being said I would also like opinions from red shirts in regard to how they would wish to be managed, and some things they would wish management would take a second to listen. :)

To what extent can we be forced to install batteries, headlights, wiper blades etc.?

At our store, these services are treated responsibilities rather than optional. Our DM came down on us over the winter for refusing to install batteries in below 0. And now we’re being forced to install them in temps approaching 100°. From reading on this sub, it seems like these should be optional, and able to be refused for any reason including weather. Am I mistaken? Or is there something I can do to ensure I don’t get written up/fired for refusing to do these free services in extreme weather?

MFs finding shit to bitch about

My store manager has us all in a group chat. Apparently, "corporate has been on his back" about us not getting phone numbers. I've worked at this shithole for over 2.5 years, gone through several DMs and SMs. I've never heard a word about hounding the customers about getting a phone number. It was always WITT. Now most people at our store are getting decent enough WITT, now they want to pull some new shit out they bootyholes to bitch about.

He's now taken to spamming us everyday giving a daily update of the number of "misses" everyone got. They also us not to use our self checkout anymore...

So glad I don't work here full time anymore

Just got terminated

A little over a month in and fired. Two complaints, both from the sm's gf's daughter. I "moved too slowly", despite getting just as much done as the other new guy. DM apparently didn't like me all that much, I'm too quiet, too awkward. I'm autistic. But nothing I can do about that since it's impossible to find an affordable doctor in my area. I like helping people, I like cars, I like working on cars.

They terminated me and didn't tell me before my next scheduled shift(the next day), the DM told my sm not to inform me. I was humiliated and in shock. I had called out for four days because I needed to drive ten hours to be with my bf who was sick. Calling out over text doesn't count as calling out, despite my coworkers doing this in the past. DM told him not to tell me so I would be humiliated.

It was never worth the effort, even at the start. 12 an hour for commercial driving. Also if anyone I know sees this, you already know my gripes with AutoZone, I just wanted to vent some more.

Tbh, shouldve left the second they made me do that chudzone dance. Working retail is dehumanizing.

At the end of my rope

I recently became the Store Manager of a very busy location that averages well over 100 customers a day. We have a crew of nine employees, including myself, but it honestly feels like I’m running the store alone.
My CSM doesn’t seem to care, my managers have to be hand-held through even the most basic tasks, and my DM offers little support beyond cutting hours for what is already a ghost crew. The only people who consistently do their jobs are the red shirts, and at least they stay on the counter and help customers.
A perfect example is the core bin. After truck dropped it off, I intentionally left it sitting there for three days. Instead of anyone taking the initiative to put it away, every manager who worked simply kept stacking more cores on the end where the daily returns go. Not one person thought to organize or put away the core bin without being told.
I’m beyond frustrated with this job, my employees, and AutoZone’s management structure. Honestly, I can’t even place all the blame on the DMs anymore. They’re stretched incredibly thin and overloaded with tasks from the regional team, to the point that it’s amazing anything gets accomplished at all.
To make matters worse, I haven’t had a single day off in three weeks without someone calling in or leaving early. At this point, it feels like I’m expected to carry the entire store on my own.

Not a plumber by trade, plumbing my new house. How does this look?

Besides the super messy primer, how does this look? Will be inspected by city to follow upc. Not a plumber, I am a general contractor building my own family home.

*TRIGGER WARNING* 2017 Discovery battery change

Thankfully it was still morning and the battery comes out as soon as you remove the strut brace and a couple cable connectors to clear the way up.

PT PSM Pay

Hey everyone,
I’m currently a part-time Rising Star in NY making $17/hr. My store manager recently told me that our district is looking to promote internally rather than hire externally, and because I have open availability (24/7), she thinks I’d be a good fit for the next step.
This also seems to line up with the fact that our Regional Manager, Regional HR Manager, and Regional Loss Prevention Manager have all been in the store recently.
For those of you who’ve been promoted from PT Rising Star to PT PSM what kind of pay increase did you get? I’m mainly trying to get an idea of what to expect in New York if the promotion happens.
Thanks!

Mike Ferendelli

AutoZone's social media accounts has been under pressure after claims of LP manager Mike Ferendelli making statements praising the shooting at Pulse Nightclub.
