Just germinated at coco what ec start?

Hello!! This is my first run on coco, I’m going with autopot with 50%50% perlite coco. What ec would you run in the first weeks it doesn’t even have the true leafs and they’re yellowing yet. I adjusted ph 5.8 and 0.4 ec but I don’t know if this is enough or what.

Thank you.

Growing Cavendish banana

Hey! I've been experimenting with the Autopots and I can tell you that growing bananas with Autopots is super easy! I started with some pups but these two photos are ten days apart. Everyday I have to stop the pups from propagating which is a sign that the plant is doing really well. I came to the conclusion that they with outgrow this area much faster than I planned so one of them will become a house plant and the other I'll try to see it through. I got the Super Dwarf Cavendish Banana variety.

it's been a few weeks now...

...since i posted my way of growing autoflowers here, which received some sort of shitstorm and even got deleted by a mod, as i sow directly into the pot and turn on the systen from day 1, which seems some sort of blasphemical sin 😁

i was told i'd be trolling, killing my plants and get "bad fruit" and stuff.

so i waited a bit .. and now like to show a video of the situation today and ask your opinions again.

plants (left to right) are ~ 13, 11 and 9 weeks from seed.

Struggling with humidity in week 5 flower

Hi, as the title states I'm having issues keeping my humidity below 50% even currently with the lights off, I know the use of fabric pots with the autopot system can contribute to this, has anyone found an efficient way to tackle this?

-I'm thinking the effect of the tower fan also blowing over the liquid in the tray is to fault too.

-Due to current temperature and climate the RH and external temps can be up and down. I've managed to get it down to 43-45% but not consistently and temps can be vary from 24.6°c - 28°c as the heatwave has gone temporarily but I'm getting temps of up to 32°c at lights off

Extra info:

3x3x3 Mars Hydro Tent -Single plant week 5 flower

20L fabric Pot in the 1pot XL tray

5" inline/exhaust running 24/7

Oscillating tower fan on High (with on and off down time to avoid possible fire hazard) in rotation with 2 clip on fans that are on 24/7 at varying heights for the canopy

Portable aircon unit w/dehumidifier mode being ran 3hours on 6 off in the room.

All bottom vents open most of the time due to total darkness in the room.

Exhaust going out of the window along with the portable AC

1x 150w Mars Hydro at 100% & waiting to put on a generic 50W on the bottom to support under canopy light once RH dialled in.

Plant Structure

What are the pros/cons of medium sized plants like these vs shorter/denser or taller plants? My Veg stage was short (I don’t recall exactly / they were in solo cups prior) and these shot ip pretty high. How is internodal (sp?) spacing? Any insight on ideal plan structure appreciated. Thank you!

Right nutrient advice please

Hi, I’m using this stuff…hydro/coco, and assumed it’d work as it ticks both boxes if you like

What I found was to the contrary…I get the desired EC on the fill but the nutrients quickly separates and solidifies onto the bottom of the tank, taking the EC down with it….and that’s simply not good enough

Any recommendations please? I’m in the UK…

…this, and I’m currently using a small aquarium/pond pump to circulate, would a wave maker help? Only issue is the suction pad won’t stick to the side of my tank 🤷🏻‍♂️

Considering 6 or 9 in 5x5

Hello all.

After 2 weeks germinating seeds I got 9 alive :).
I got 6 from hsc 4 granny pie and 2 hyper za and 3 super skunk granel they i put for backup. I have the 6 setup autopot with 3.9 gal I’m going 50/50 coco perlite in the first instance I tought to put only the 6 from hsc and give a better vegetative time but having this 3 super skunk alive is like… I don’t want to kill them but I’m afraid that they’re not well stabilized and I’m going to have problem with them plus the hsc ones.
What would you do?? You would purchase another 3 pot to add to my 6 system or you would not put more than 6 in that space.
Thank you so much .

Slime Reservoir and Plants Deficiency

Hi everyone,

I am dealing with a nightmare slime/biofilm issue in my AutoPot setup and desperately need some advice because nothing seems to work.

Here is my setup for reference:

- 25L reservoir
- 50/50 coco/perlite mix correctly buffered
- Nutrients line all salt-based, using TerraAquatica/General Hydroponics TriPart with CalMag supplementation.
- pH 5.8 and 1.8 EC
- Reservoir temperature 20 ~ 22c degrees celcius.
- VPD 1.2 - 1.6
- Going to Week 5 of Flower.

Here is everything I have already done to try and solve it:

- Deep cleaned the entire system multiple times using bleach.

- Used long pipe brushes to physically scrub the inside of all the lines.

- Completely replaced all the hoses and plastic fittings/connectors with brand-new ones.

- Started running a low preventative dose of bleach in my main reservoir.

- Opened new nutrient bottles in case any were cross-contaminated (though not probable, as every nutrient bottle has its own pipette).

Despite all of this, the slime keeps coming back. At first, I was preparing the reservoir and 2 days later it was already cloudy with a lot of slime/biofilm and the PH dropping a lot (as shown in the second photo). After all the intensive cleaning and hardware changes, the reservoir is much clearer now (I can see the bottom of it), but I still find slime appearing around day 5 or 6.

Interestingly, I've noticed a pattern: it always appears in the valve trays first, and only after some time does it start to show up or cause issues back toward the reservoir.

To test if it was coming from inside the pots, I recently performed a top-down flush on the pots using a water and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) solution. Surprisingly, NO slime, chunks, or signs of root rot came out of the bottom drainage holes—the runoff was completely clean, indicating the core substrate and roots inside the medium seem healthy.

Has anyone ever experienced this specific issue where the slime seems to take over the trays first, even with a clean res and brand-new lines? How did you finally fix it? Could it be hiding on the root control discs, the pot plastic, or somewhere else?

Any help or insights would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

Grow lights. Mammoth, AC Infinity or anything else

Pictures are more for attention and to show what I’m using now.
I want to upgrade my light. I have a 4x4 tent I want a light big enough to fit corner to, something that doesn’t run too hot, and I would prefer tunable spectrum but not a deal breaker.
Right now the front runners are the expensive mammoth 8 bar tunable nova sun series with the uv upgrade and the AC Infinity EVO 8.
If you have any experience with either of those lights let me know. If you have any suggestions I would appreciate it.

Nitrogen Toxicity 🤔

Pretty sure I know why my flowers stayed small.

Dark green + clawing = Nitrogen toxicity

Following the Canna Coco chart was too strong for autopots systems. What I researched is that with this types of systems, becase the water with nutes is always available, should use lower ec.

Wanted to share this here in case someone is wondering how much to feed. At least this is my experience

Learning as I go. Next run will be better

***Autopots for Dummies***

Is there a video or book out there that will demonstrate in great detail how to use an autopot. I've watched several videos almost to exhaustion but I haven't found that one video that makes it click for me. I've been growing about a little over 5 years and I just don't get it, it seems complicated to me and maybe it's because my grow space is really small but I just don't know. I've watched videos directly from Autopots and again I've held off from purchasing and Autopot system because it just didn't click. I know that I'm not the only one that has held off from purchasing because it seems complicated if someone wanted to sponsor me and show me going through the steps to figure it out I would do that which would be a great help to the community. If this video does already exist please connect me with a link!

How is it looking?

2nd grow using my Autopot, first using Cropsalt. This is my buds at 62 days, I just switched to using the Cake. Pretty much a novice growing and this is an autoflower, how are the buds looking?

I have done a few other grows using a self watering base or hand watering. I have to say, the autopot with Cropsalt has been my biggest and most healthiest plant so far.

I will say, the biggest issue with this grow (that I know) is my 2x4 tent does not work well with the autopot system, the plant gets too large and with negative pressure in the tent, smashes the sides of the plant.
