Need to explain the subscription system with Avid

I am providing screenshots of the issue. I have a perpetual license but cannot open Pro Tools. I don't even know where to begin explaining this. There are 3 images. Active perpetual product, expired one-year subscription, and all visible licenses expired.

I cannot open ANYTHING. Serioously, call me a moron but this makes no sense to me. Help!

Avid Locking Down Third Party Shared Storage In Upcoming Media Conposer Release

What a joke. While everyone else is opening up their architecture, Avid lock everything down to rinse users for money with their inflated prices. And now they’re closing up the ability to use third party storage for project sharing.

Trim tracked shot

I’m doing some screen inserts in Avid MC and I would like to provide 25 frames handles to my client.
So I extend with 25 frames handles and track it. But when I trim off the handles my track gets offseted.

Is the approach I’m doing wrong or is it just Avid MC how is bugging?

Does FilmLight offer seasonal deals on Baselight for Avid?

Hello,

do they offer Christmas, Easter, Black Friday, etc. deals? And if so, how have these deals been like?

Thanks!

Avid 2025.12.2 released today.

New release of Avid today. It's a maintenance release, no new features, just bug fixes.

What is the rationale behind Avid dating their releases if they don't use the current date? Calling it version 2025.12.2 seems more confusing than calling it v14.12.2 or whatever. The whole point, I thought, of dating the releases is so the use knows when it was released. Do other companies do this? Will Apple release iOS 26.9 in 2027?

Is there any other way to contact Avid?

I teach at a university and want to bring Media Composer to my students. The Avid website has pages about educational programs and helping students, and I’ve reached out to them through the various “get in contact” options on their website but have never heard back.

Does anyone here happen to have a direct contact to someone at Avid, particularly in sales? Or another suggestion for how to get in touch with them?
