Kept falling asleep on the bus, so I added Location Alarms to NeoAlarm

I kept falling asleep on the bus while returning from tuition and overshooting my stop by a couple kilometers, so I built this lol. The idea is simple: pick a destination, choose a radius, and NeoAlarm rings when you get close instead of at a fixed time.

Uses MapLibre map with OSM/OpenFreeMap tiles, Photon for search, and optional OpenCage reverse geocoding.

Instead of continuously polling GPS, it uses Android geofencing + passive location updates for a two-tier privacy/battery friendlier approach.

The app also tracks health states so it can show when a location alarm is not actually ready, such as:

- location permission missing

- background location missing

- location services off

- geofence not armed

- already inside the target radius

I tested it multiple times on my Samsung, plus power-saving mode to make things a little harder, over my usual IUT-Uttara route and it fired successfully near the destination. Except if I force stop it from settings in which case it didn't fire, will look into that next, but afaik it's intended behavior from Android.

Built fully automated YouTube channel with JavaScript

Everyday it uploads 1 video of how much of the years has passed

How it works:

  1. Simple JavaScript operations to find current date, how much of the year has passed etc.
  2. It uses gemini api to find a historical event that happened on this days of a previous year
  3. A video is generated using Remotion
  4. YouTube data api v3 is used for automatically upload the video on You Tube
  5. A bash script is written to run the script
  6. A crontab is setup on my Mac mini to automatically run the bash script once a day

100% hands free and automated

I want to build social media automation with python/N8n

Firstly I'm a small entrepreneur in the print on demand field, I have a small team. For the last 5 years I have sold pod products like t shirts on reddit but in 2026 it's not profitable anymore. That's why right now I'm trying to shift on Facebook and open some pages and groups in various niches. I post ai generated content on my pages and groups. I see some good results on my pages and groups and last month I got monetization on one of the pages. this month I already earned $120 from the page. so I am to scale up this strategy with automation. Open to discuss with anyone.

Thank you.

Hello everyone,
Big update for Speedometer: Driving Tracker - the CarPlay app is now live!

Getting approved for CarPlay in the driving task category is tough and one of the hardest CarPlay categories to get through Apple’s review process, so this honestly means a lot.

You can now track drives directly from your car’s screen while also getting insights that many built-in dashboards simply don’t provide.

Another thing I’ve been heavily focusing on lately is making driving memories feel more visual and shareable instead of just raw numbers.

Some newer features include:

• Stunning trip sharing layouts with customizable stats
• Beautiful 3D route playback
• Full-screen route replay with speed-colored paths
• Video recording with live speed + map overlays
• Fuel tracking, maintenance logs, expenses, and reminders
• Vehicle-based trip analytics and comparisons
• iCloud sync for trips, fuel logs, maintenance records, and more
• Privacy-first experience with no ads or tracking

The goal is to make it feel more like a complete driving companion rather than just another GPS speedometer.

Would genuinely love to hear your feedback or ideas!

I built a Windows desktop app to organize fonts + color palettes in one place

I built TypeHue, a Windows desktop app (Soon for Mac) for managing fonts and color palettes in one place. It is free to download app with 7-day free trial.
I’d love honest feedback on the workflow and UI/UX from Windows users.

Created this app to test how having an app on playstore feels.

I created this app with my team using Flutter 3.5k+ downloads. The main goal for this app was:

  1. Create an app and test how it performs.
  2. Create something our own(With not too much high expectation)
  3. To solve all in one model problem. Avoid multiple subscriptions on different AI platforms for user who just need text based conversation
  4. switching between models in same chat.

Then evolved the app a bit with 3 new feature. The face locking to AI generated content is really good on our end because of our prompt building research. But stuck at some point.

1. Headshot: Added 34+ popular templates. User just uploads their selfie or capture it--> 3 different headshot generated based on template. No prompt needed. It's on template. Professional images and many more viral templates are there as well.
2. Feels: Upload a selfie you get 4 sec short video based on your selected template of environment. This feature is for those who have their favorite persons last photo but want to see them smile or express their feeling.
3. Voice Reels: Provide the script or write story shortly, select multiple photos, select voice artist, select font--> A voice over rolling image reel with voiceover is ready for you within a minute. It automatically holds the text caption at the center of the reel for better viewers point of interest. This feature is my favourite.

Now what I need:
I need your honest feedback and scope of improvement of this app. What is lacking on my app and what other features that I can consider to make it really usable. I did test and trial on some features like generating videos using AI and AI generated image with just a story user writes. But the cost is huge like 3$ per video of 30-40 second. But the quality was really good.

here is the app link:
Playstore have all the features. Website doesn't have Voice Reels. Need your advice and feedback for the app.

Seeking advice from people who are at where I want to be

So I am about about to graduate in about a month or so with CS degree from a reputed private uni. I just still don't feel quite ready yet. I wish I could say that I worked hard during my undergrad years, but there were a lot of variables that had pushed me down so I couldn't really work as hard as I wanted to. But I have been trying since to get better everyday.

Been applying to jobs, internships and every opportunity I see but most of them have been rejections so far. I know I have it in me, I am capable but its just been a bit discouraging. It feels like I am running out of time. I am almost 27. Yeah I know I am late to the party.

I just want to focus on getting myself industry ready in the next 2-3 months. From where I am standing, it just seems like there is so many things for me to do right now. Like should I learn a new tech, should I build a another project, should I grind interview questions or just focus on problem solving etc. I know there is no straight path to anything but having no path at all is making me feel lost and affecting my productivity.

I am just confused what I should invest my time in at this very stage in my career.

Would appreciate any insights and guidance.

A Small Project to Help Developers Save Time

As a student developer, I realized I was spending more time searching for useful resources than actually learning or building.

So I started creating a small open-source project to organize things like developer tools, AI resources, cybersecurity resources, UI elements just using prompts, and study materials in one place.

I’m still improving it and mainly looking for honest feedback from other students and developers.

What kind of resources do you usually struggle to find online?
And what would make a platform like this genuinely useful for you?

Which tech sector has the best future outlook?

Hello everyone,

I am a final-year Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) student currently trying to plan my next career steps. I am feeling stuck and confused about which tech sector I should focus on for the long term.

I am trying to choose between:

Web Development

Software Engineering

Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning

For those already working in the industry, which of these fields currently offers the best job security, growth potential, and future outlook? I would highly appreciate any advice, personal experiences, or guidance you can share!

Thank you!

Need to validate an idea

Hello guys,

I use many AI tools while applying for jobs, but most of them only solve small parts of the process. So I was thinking about building a Chrome extension that can:

  • Read a job description automatically
  • Reconstruct and optimize the CV based on the JD
  • Generate personalized cover letters
  • Auto-fill application forms
  • Help create or optimize LinkedIn profiles/posts

The main goal is to make job applications faster and more tailored for each role.

Do you think this is something people would actually use?
And what extra features would make it more useful for you?

Would love to hear honest feedback.

What language or stack should i focus on as a last year CSE student?

I've sparse knowledge about java, c++, python and little JS.
But i decided to hone in on something specific. (i am doing projects on python)

I see most of my seniors either go with java or JS, TS(web dev)
in some cases Laravel.

So i wanna ask people in the industry, is it really worth it to master Python?

or pls drop any suggestion/advice you have for me.

Subject Guidance

Hello, thought this might be the right place to ask

I saw this Bachelor Of Computer Science (Hons) Mobile Computing And Networking - on this uni website

  1. Is this degree worth it in today's market?

  2. By the time I graduate, will there actually be jobs available or will AI have eaten most of them up?

Would really appreciate honest takes from people already in the industry.

I built a Sahih Bukhari app for Urdu, Arabic & English readers — would love honest feedback

Assalamu Alaikum,

I built a Sahih Bukhari app to make authentic hadith reading simpler and more accessible, especially for Urdu readers.

Main features:

• Complete Sahih Bukhari

• Urdu / Arabic / English support

• Fast hadith search

• Bookmarks

• Notes

• Offline reading

• Resume reading

• Clean customizable UI

I built this because many apps felt cluttered or lacked the reading experience I wanted.

I’d genuinely appreciate honest feedback:

What should be improved?

I Wanted My Browser to Feel Peaceful Instead of Distracting — So I Built This Islamic Homepage

Alhamdulillah… after almost few months of working on weekends and slowly building things piece by piece, I finally released Islamic Homepage v1.02 🌙

https://preview.redd.it/jqczf1rrf41h1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=19bf61b10dcd45d50efb6f50db2c090fa48ed0c6

https://preview.redd.it/pqsuisqrf41h1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=f8282a1e1d1c41d4cc935f92e74d26a5336c6bc7

https://preview.redd.it/4j3q5uqrf41h1.jpg?width=1600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4a6ef5fc24abac78b99d8c63ad4a0d542346b333

🔗 Chrome Web Store:
https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/islamic-homepage/jnmepdjjfgiicgcjlhiakhhpplehdgfn?authuser=0&hl=en

This project actually started from a very simple thought.

Most of us spend hours every day in front of a browser — coding, studying, working, attending meetings, scrolling endlessly. And somewhere in between all of that, it becomes very easy to lose track of Salah, time, and sometimes even ourselves.

I kept thinking…

“What if opening a new tab could remind someone about Allah, even for just a few seconds?”

That idea slowly became Islamic Homepage.

The first version received far more love and support than I ever expected (not released in chrome webstore). People used it daily, shared feedback, suggested improvements, reported bugs, and honestly… that support is what motivated me to continue improving it.

So for the last several months, I spent most of my weekends redesigning and rebuilding the experience.

This time, the goal was simple:

Create something minimal, peaceful, eye-pleasing, and realistic — something that feels calm instead of distracting.

Some of the things added in v1.02:

✨ Accurate prayer times with live countdown
✨ Multiple calculation methods + Hanafi/Shafi support
✨ Forbidden prayer time indicators
✨ Daily Quran verses with translation
✨ Dynamic 24-hour day/night backgrounds
✨ Procedural stars and smooth nighttime atmosphere
✨ Smart location system with manual city search
✨ Lightweight animations optimized for performance

One thing I’m genuinely grateful for is the community around this small project. Seeing 400+ people actively using it daily and sharing thoughtful feedback was something I never expected when I first started building this.
