Hello! So, I haven’t really gotten into the Dunk and Egg era yet but I recently undertook a project to find fanfics that feature original characters from houses other than Targaryens, Starks, Baratheons, Lannisters, Hightowers, and Velaryons (even if they’re side characters). That evening in the cool hush of the castle sept, Baelor kneels longer than usual, the candlelight wavering against stone as he turns the days reflections over in prayer. Not an uncommon practice for him. After his wife’s death, he'd folded much and more, into prayer, discipline, duty.
He rises still in contemplative stillness, deciding to walk the tourney grounds and pay a brief visit to his son and the knights attending. A reminder for himself as much as anyone, that true knighthood was vow over spectacle.
He does not see the petite cloaked figure paused on the bridge, head bent deep in thought, the direction of the next steps uncertain. As she turns to go, the two collide.
Baelor reaches out quickly to catch her before she stumbles.
“Forgive me, Ser.” The woman says as she straightens to face him. “I was not watching my steps.”
