N160 SS vs N250 — what should I buy?
I’m a college student and my dad is getting me a new bike. Budget is max ₹2 lakh.
My main requirements are:
- 35+ km/l mileage
- Reliable and not too expensive to maintain
- Something I actually enjoy riding
I’ve been riding my dad’s 2007 Splendor for around 3 years, so I’m not completely new to riding.
I’m currently stuck between the N160 SS and N250. Both are around the same price right now.
The N250 looks much better to me and honestly, I really want it. But I’ve heard about the wobbling/stability issues and that’s making me a bit hesitant.
The N160 SS seems like the safer choice with more features and radial tyres, and probably better stability. But I’m worried I’ll end up wishing I had bought the N250 instead.
So should I:
- Get the N250 now?
- Go for the N160 SS?
- Or wait for the N250 update?
Would especially like to hear from actual owners about mileage, stability, maintenance and reliability.
Opinions on a used P150
I am a 21 year old who wants to buy his 1st bike for commuting. I don't have the budget for a new bike, so I was looking for a used one, and came across a bajaj p150 2023 model.
The details for this bike are as follows:
• Bajaj P150 mid 2023 model
• ~24500 kms driven
• Was dropped once which damaged the rear panel (has been ordered and will be replaced by him) and the bike brake reservoir was also damaged which has been replaced.
• The rear brakes feel very weak, and the gear wear a little stiff to change.
• Everything else was good, good speed climbing, good handling, didn't start in one try, but started in the second (might be since it was standing there for two days), good thread on tyres, and everything is working.
Do y'all think I should get this, and what would be a great price to get it for?
Authorized Bajaj service center broke my ABS, clutch, and instrument cluster over a routine sprocket job — now refusing warranty over a "missed service." What are my options?
So here's the full story, because I think people should know what "authorized service" can turn into.
I took my Pulsar N160 in for a routine chain-sprocket kit replacement plus rear brake pads — total bill ₹3,500. Signed off, paid, rode home. Bike was completely fine. Meter, ABS, clutch — everything working exactly as it should.
The sprocket job took two days, and the bike never actually made it back to me in that time. Before handing it over, they told me the instrument cluster's RPM readout dims when I redline the engine — I'd never had this problem before, and it surfaced while the bike was still in their custody, not after I'd driven off. They said it's under warranty and they'd fix it for free.
When I went to collect the bike, the new cluster they'd installed turned out to be faulty on their own admission. So they put my old cluster back in and told me to come back in about a week for the real replacement — no fixed date, nothing in writing, just "we'll call you."
Here's where it gets worse: leaving that visit, my ABS is suddenly dead. Tyre skidding under hard braking, no matter how carefully I braked. I go straight back and they flat-out deny anything is wrong with the ABS. I have to demonstrate it live on the road in front of them before they even admit it's broken. Their solution: ride without ABS for about a week until the new cluster part shows up.
Not happy with that, I file a complaint through the Bajaj customer care helpline. A manager calls back, apologizes, says she'll expedite it, and tells me the replacement part is coming from Pune — about a week out.
A week later the part arrives and she calls me saying it's urgent, to come in immediately. So I drop my classes, leave work, take a Rapido, and hand over the bike for the day.
2-3 hours later, she calls back and tells me — after already taking the bike apart — that they can't do this under warranty after all. Reason given: it's been 18 months since my last service, and my odometer is about 700km past the 10,000km service milestone. This is a bike I use for a 2km commute to college and back. No unusual mileage, no oil degradation, nothing that would actually justify forcing a service just to keep a warranty claim on damage THEIR team caused. She said she'd try to push it through as a free favor with management but wasn't confident.
By this point the cluster assembly has been opened and reinstalled twice. And on top of the original issue, I'm now dealing with:
ABS — still not working
Clutch — a different mechanic found the clutch wire itself is damaged; they've given it so much free play that only the last \~10% of the lever actually engages the clutch
Rear brake light — stuck on at full power permanently, even with the engine off and the brake untouched, which is going to kill my battery if it stays like this
The original jerks issue the sprocket kit was supposed to fix — still there
None of this — cluster, ABS, clutch, brake light — existed before I brought the bike in for what should've been a simple sprocket change. I'm a student, I can't keep dropping classes and work every time they call me in to "fix" something they broke the last time.
On top of all that, one of their mechanics also mentioned — almost in passing — that he'd updated the ECU at some point during all this. Nobody asked for that, it was never part of the original sprocket job, and it was never disclosed to me until he just casually brought it up. I don't know for sure if it's connected to the cluster/ABS/brake light issues, but an unrequested ECU update happening somewhere in the middle of all these electronics going haywire feels like more than a coincidence.
I'm not against paying — I told them I'm fine paying for the actual replacement part itself, that's a fair cost. What I'm not okay with is being charged or stonewalled for damage I didn't cause. , I'm done making special trips for their mistakes. And if this doesn't get resolved properly, I'm prepared to take this to consumer court — this feels like a clear case of them using a technicality to dodge responsibility for faults their own technicians created.
The next time the manager yells at me saying how dare u complain against us it's your fault you didn't get it serviced
Now come and get a full service done then we'll see
So — has anyone dealt with something like this? Is the "missed service voids warranty on unrelated damage" excuse even legally solid, or is that something a consumer court would throw out? Should I file with the National Consumer Helpline first, or go straight to a consumer forum? And can they even legally flash/update my ECU without telling me first?
Any advice from people who've actually pushed a complaint like this through would help a lot.
Finally bought N160 top model from Flipkart.
Hi guys,
Bought the N160 Top Model from Flipkart 2 days ago! It’s my first bike, so I’m really excited to start riding it. Hoping to have a great experience with the bike! ❤️🏍️ [OC]

BSIV KTM RC 390 and BSIV Bajaj Dominar 400 interchangeable parts
I own a 2017 RC 390 and I want to know whether I can swap the rider and Pillion footpegs from the Dominar 400s? The service center guy just straight up told me that the new gen3 duke's footpegs won't fit into my bike.
I know these two bikes share some similar components.
Since, it's getting harder and harder to find new replacement parts for my RC 390.
Can anyone help me on this and yeah can someone make the list for interchangeable parts between the two bike!
Trying to change the front number plate position.
Planning to remove the number plate holder and place it below the headlight, has anyone done this before? I saw some youtube videos of using NS400Z’s number plate holder with some modifications.
Just worried about any issues, so if anyone done this, please share your thoughts.
RS200 UG review
Hi, I am planning to buy Pulsar RS200 UG as my first bike. I've done some research and read several reviews about that the engine cuts out/stops once you go above 120 km/h. Have any of you experienced this? I suspect it might be a chronic issue since there are quite a few comments about it. Since this is a newer model (2025), I believe they haven't found a solution yet

Need help to verify about platina bike engine.
I have Bajaj platina 125 bike and when I went to repair it ,some repairing shops told me that platina 125 bike only has single ignition plug and mine has 2 ignition plugs, so they told me my bike engine head was replaced, but I asked from some of other repairing shops and they told me ,nah platina 125 bike has dual ignition plug system,I'm confused and don't know who to trust?
Any idea how to verify whether my bike has dual plug or single plug system?
Need guidance for that 🙏

My D400 is Bleeding
This happened just after a 20 mins ride, I parked my bike and then came back after an hour to see this.
There have been minute leaks before from the engine, which every time I tell the service guys and they claim it's fixed. But this was the first time I saw so much of Engine oil leak.
Should I still give it to Bajaj Service centre or try out a local service centre.

Its been 1.5 years since I bought this beautiful machine and this was my first paid service. Its been over 6 months since last service.

Does anyone else’s 350cc ns400 lose power for half a second and then pickup again. Getting a jerk like you get when fuel is low. Especially in second gear.

Unbearable back pain while riding N250
Need advice from N250 riders
I’m travelling around 120 km every day on my Bajaj Pulsar N250 — 60 km in the morning and 60 km in the evening. And my height 6.0f
I’m experiencing unbearable back pain while riding, especially during/after the long rides.
For anyone who rides an N250 for long distances:
- Have you experienced similar back pain?
- Is it mainly due to the riding posture or seat?
- Would changing the handlebar/seat or riding position help?
- Any recommendations for making the N250 more comfortable for 120 km daily?
Looking for genuine advice from people who have experience with long-distance N250 riding.
