Support long time local business and force Kern County to take accountability and give fair treatment! This business needs the community more than ever right now. He has done a lot for many. We just need a signature.

Hart Park is becoming unsafe — and the County needs to address it. Community petition inside.

For years, Hart Park has been a place for families, kids, visitors, and local businesses. But the park’s infrastructure has been deteriorating for a long time — and now it’s reached a point where it’s affecting public safety and even forcing a long‑standing community business to shut down operations because of unsafe conditions.

Here’s the issue:

• Structural damage and foundation problems have been reported in county‑maintained areas
• Safety hazards have gone unaddressed
• A business that has served the community for years has been impacted
• If the County says the area is unsafe for a business to operate… how is it safe for the public?

A group of us put together a community petition asking Kern County to:

  1. Conduct a full safety + structural inspection
  2. Release a public report
  3. Create a remediation plan with timelines
  4. Treat the affected business fairly
  5. Ensure Hart Park meets basic public safety standards

This isn’t political — it’s about public safety, transparency, and accountability for a park that thousands of people use.

If you care about Hart Park and one lick business who has kept the visitors coming, please consider.

Do You Remember Station 3:16?

Circa 2003-2005, I have this high school memory of going to Station 3:16 and being part of a filming of a music video of a Christian rock band. All these years, I thought it was Third Day, but I’ve never felt like I could find the song. We were all jumping around, supposed to be making it look like a live concert, but it was the one song over and over!? I can’t remember the band name, or the song, but I can remember they signed my red converse. I thought the song had to do with waking up late or something about getting up for school!?! Anyone with a better memory of that era of cool Christian kids in town?! 😂☠️ I’d love to tell my kids that I was in a music video for a band I probably still listen to! 👀 It’s a long shot , I know !

Teachers, Nurses and Unions just backed Steyer. Plus, PG&E spent millions to badmouth him, so that’s worth my vote for Steyer right there.

Who are you all considering?

Trying to find Vogue in the Movement's first album

Vogue in the Movement was a pop punk/powerpop band from Bakersfield, California. They were active between 2006-2010.

You can find some of their later music still available here: https://vogueinthemovement.bandcamp.com/

Members were: Conner Crawford (Guitar/Vocals), Chris Puckett (Vocals), Seth McConnell (Drums), Ryan Sanders (Guitar), Bryce Nichols (Bass).

I'm trying to locate their first release called "Try to Make It Honest". I can't find anything from this album online anymore. If I'm remembering correctly Conner was lead vocals on this one before Chris took over.

If anyone still has it please let me know, I'd love to be able to hear those old songs again.

NO on measure A— it’s being sold as a way to fill Board of Supervisor vacancies, but becoming a charter city leaves us open to years of lawsuits funded by taxpayers. Vote NO.

Kern County voters are being told that Measure A is a narrow, administrative proposal about how to fill vacancies on the Board of Supervisors. But that framing leaves out the larger reality: this measure would fundamentally change Kern County’s governing structure by converting it into a California charter county.

And once that happens, the county could face years of expensive political and legal conflict that taxpayers ultimately would be forced to fund.

Prices on PG&E are going up, the new sewer tax is coming, and we are paying millions on lawsuits already in town because of “mistakes” by local gov employees. Don’t try to sell this charter city stuff to us,

NO on Measure A.
