Couldn't be more proud of the decision

Couldn't be more proud of the decision

Past month was an absolute gauntlet with work and life hitting heavy. I was feeling pretty stagnant and just needed a win to reset, so I finally decided to reward myself with a piece I’ve had my eye on for ages.

Honestly, for the longest time, the ultimate goal was a Rolex GMT Pepsi. But when it came down to the wire, pulling the trigger on one just started to feel completely absurd.

Mechanically speaking, a GMT complication does the exact same job regardless of the price tag, and I couldn't justify paying a massive premium for a brand name that doesn't actually offer any incremental value. Rolex has just become this hyper-visible status symbol that's completely oversold around the globe. Plus, with the sheer amount of superclones out there, the magic and authenticity of owning one kind of wore off for me.

I realized I didn't want a watch that everyone recognizes from a hype video. I wanted something genuinely unique—a piece that most people have never actually laid eyes on in person. Stepping away from the mainstream hype and going with the Baltic felt way more rewarding. It’s just incredibly refreshing to wear something that stands out because of its design and rarity, rather than a forced waitlist or a crazy price tag 👐🏽

Bought this as my dress piece, but can't help throwing some sport into it 😁 wish it was more than 30m water resistant

Baltic Hermetique 37mm - Too small for a larger wrist?

Hi everyone,

I've been eyeing the Baltic Hermetique for a while now, and I absolutely love the design and the vintage vibe. My only hesitation is the 37mm case size.

I have a relatively large wrist, and I'm a bit concerned that the 37mm might look too small or disproportionate on me.

Does anyone here with a larger wrist have experience with the Hermetique? How does it wear in person? If anyone could share some on-wrist photos or general thoughts on the proportions, I'd really appreciate it! If there is anyone else like me out there, please post some pictures in the comments!

Thanks in advance!

Replacement Rubber Strap

My rubber sport strap is breaking on my dual crown. Has anyone found an adequate replacement for sport strap in the US.

I bought one on Amazon but the color isn’t quite right. Mostly looking to match the color.

Aquascaphe MK1/MK2 Bracelets

Does anyone know if both of these variants use the same bracelet? I have an older flat link from the MK1 and I'm considering getting the MK2 Aquascaphe

A diver losing the bezel insert is really disappointing... the watch dates back to May 2023 so I can't even invoke the warranty, dare I say be careful not to lose your insert!

Dual Crown Black Vs Blue

I'm wanting to get the Aquascaphe Dual-Crown. I've always wanted the blue dial but now the black dial has started to pull me.

If you own one, what color did you pick and why?

Anyone out there with both I'd love to hear your take on it!

Please give me your biased opinions

I’ve recently decided that a faux-patina, blue skindiver is what’s missing from my collection. I have an Aquascaphe classic on the way, and I think it looks amazing. I love the subtlety of the dial, and I don’t care about lume or some of the other shortcomings that I have heard about. I think the blue is almost perfect.

But, marketing is getting to me, because I’m worried about the difference in movement and lack of Swiss bonafides. I have found the Vulcain Nautique Skindiver for only a few hundred dollars more, and I don’t want to regret going with the cheaper option. Although, to be honest, I think I like the styling of the Baltic better.

Is there any chance someone here has handled both and has an opinion? Or is anyone so in love with their Baltic that they can say why it should be chosen over the Vulcain? Thanks!

Baltic MR01 stunner

An absolutely incredible looking watch with a perfectly vintage size and style that arrived today. I'm blown away by the window case back movement and breguet dial. Timegrapher reads +1sec/day which far and away beat expectations. Fits snug on the wrist and I can't take my eyes off of it. The only drawback I've noticed so far is it feels unexpectedly light in weight and the brass micro rotor is rather noisy. This aside, I'm falling for this new piece and couldn't wait to share.

Snagged a aquaspache sb01. But need more straps.

The original rubber strap had apparently snapped. Do it shipped with this blue curved waffle strap which I adore.

But I want more, so after some fruitless hours of arguing with AI I'm hoping that someone can gimme a pointer. Anyone have any hot tips for rubber straps that are curved. Or steel links (except Baltics own steel link that is)

Aquascaphe Classic on Lion

Had to Chat these images bc I couldn’t find any good ones on the interweb.

Anyone have any real photos of this combo of blue gilt on Baltic Leather in Lion?

Any opinions on this combo?

Aquascape classic

Hi any advice about the sharpness of the lugs on the aquascape classic?
I love the watch but I’ve cut my leg when wearing shorts and scratched my daughter when picking her up.
Has anyone used a jeweller to maybe brush the edges off?
Don’t want to ruin the watch but that’s twice now and it’s a pain

Debating a purchase

I’m expecting my second child in early 2027, and I’d like to commemorate the birth with a watch that I can eventually pass down as an heirloom. Right now, I’m seriously considering the Heure du Monde.
For those who own one or are familiar with it, how do you feel about the movement? Is it something you would expect to be serviceable and reliable for decades, assuming it’s properly maintained?
I currently own an HMS from Baltic, and while I absolutely love the design, I wouldn’t say the overall quality has completely lived up to my expectations. I realize it’s roughly one-third the price of the Heure du Monde, so I’m not expecting them to be directly comparable, but it has made me a little more cautious about making the right choice for a watch I hope will stay in the family.
I’d also love to hear opinions on Baltic’s flat-link and beads-of-rice bracelets. I have the straight beads-of-rice bracelet on my HMS, and while I think it looks fantastic, it feels less substantial than I’d hoped and the buckle has a lot of play in it. Has anyone found the bracelets to be a noticeable step up in quality?
Any ownership experiences or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
