Any mods that makes encountering human enemies more common then creatures?

I’m looking for mods that make human enemies more common in Barotrauma compared to creatures.

Right now most of my runs end up being mostly monster encounters, with human combat (pirates, separatists, hostile subs, etc.) feeling pretty rare or mission-dependent.

Is there any mod setup that shifts the balance more toward:

pirate/sub vs sub fights

faction warfare

hostile human crews

less focus on creatures overall (or at least fewer dominant monster encounters)

Question for each role

Say you had 6 ships identical to one another, piloted entirely by 1 role each

(example: one ship is 5 captains, another is 5 mechanics ect)

which ship would last the longest.

Also what is each roles best respective gear/weapon only they can get

(Like how only assistants can make backpacks)

Playable on small screen?

I'm considering buying this game but the UI and text looks very small in the screenshots and videos on the steam store page. I'd be playing on a laptop with a fairly small screen (14'' 2560x1600)(the high resolution makes scaling a nightmare with many games).

Are the UI and text scalable? I'm wary of eye strain since they trigger migraines for me.

If not I'll give this a skip until I have a different setup.

Wifi/Regex components not working after loading back into game

Doing a campaign with my friends, I set up some basic wifi/regex stuff so we can check the conditions of some things by just saying their name in chat. I got it to work completely fine, but loading back into the game it's extremely inconsistent. Wifi components can still connect to chat just fine, my friend didn't change that server setting and I'm still occasionally getting things to send messages to the chat. But 90% of the time it simply doesn't work, even if I just wire a button in place of the wifi/regex so it doesn't need to read chat to send a message, but it still works only once or twice before it just stops entirely. I double checked everything, I'm still in the correct radio channel, I re-wrote all the regex expressions and double clicked every setting, and it just doesn't work most of the time.

If there is a different thread that addresses this please let me know, I can't tell which component is actually not working here so I'm not sure how to look it up exactly.

what if jobs had more of a identity?

I wish jobs are more specialized tbh, I would love it if classes had restrictions to have more identity other than just perks etc, I always find it weird when all classes can do wiring or all classes
ways I would change classes would be:

engineer would be the only one being able to do wires + only one to be able to use minigame for electricity + passive to have wire vision on and off

captain would be the only one being able to use direction based sonar + more sonar range for captain

mechanic would be the only one capable of using plasma cutter to open up doors (other wise you have to break the door) + only one with mechanic minigame

security would be the only one who can use heavy gear like armor without being slowed down alot

medic would be the only one capable of crafting medicine (if there is no medic you have to buy them)+ they have health scanner hud by default without googles + a chance to not use a medicine scaling with medical skill

assistant would be able change their profession after every mission to have lesser effects of the class specific passives I talked about (like medical assistant or security asisstant etc)

Is there any way to profit from that talent? Also, what's the most profitable item to sell to generate resources if you have excess resources (that aren't alien)? I saw that Hyperizine It sells well.

Peaceful Overhaul

Is there any mod or better yet overhaul that would made Barotrauma not scary and peaceful? Like turning all mobs to mermaids and wound names to "Owie" or something like that? Preferably with retexture of the walls too to make the subs look colorful/cartoonish? We want to play the game with a few of our friends that have weak stomachs and are quite fearful but we just love the mechanics of the game and doing the submarine thing.

I know about We Need to go Deeper but we don't like that one due to milion little differences in how the game works. But if we had retexture of the monsters, subs and environment, preferably with sound and wound names, we could MAYBE install it clientside on the friend PC and play with them.

Changing a friend is not and option, they're good people and we want them.

some questions regarding the gameplay- new player, solo, 8 hours in, barsuk with 1 durability upgrade, just reached european ridge from paying credits

so here are some struggles of mine with this game and some questions i need answered:

my main issue is pretty much the combat as everyone probably expected, i struggle dealing with the threats and the cataclysms they cause. i dont know how to properly combat the enemies without things going downhill. i can deal woth most enemies, its just about detecting them, taking aim and boom threat eliminated... unless the threat manages to get into a blindspot to avoid gunfire which i cant prevent due to sub being too slow. this happens to me A LOT when i encounter those god forsaken mudraptors, they always get out of range, then enter my sub and because of the water my entire crew dies due to pressure, i have 3 suits so even if everyone reaches them in time( which doesnt really happen to me) the rest dies eitherway and theres no time fore to deal with the mudraptors inside and patch everything up, making this particular scenario impossible to deal with. i in fact managed to defeat a moloch boss with unupgraded 2 gauss and a railgun with no victims, i feel like it was only because the moloch positioned perfectly for my railgun to deal it's damage and outdamage the enemy that way. and lastly, why at some point do i randomly loose air in my sub making me suffocate? every system seems online and no water is inside

Tilting Submarine

Disclaimer! This mod is very buggy currently and there is no guarantee I can get it to work the way I want.

Hello everyone! I’m working on a mod similar to my other mod RagdollCam but instead of tilting the player when they ragdoll I’m going to tilt the entire sub when you go up or down while moving forward or backward! I’m also trying to get it to tilt depending on how much water is in that specific side tho that may not be a final feature. The way I intend for it to work is the sub actually tilts including hulls so that if you get suddenly stopped or slammed into the character will fly and be affected by this tilt causing them to move further or less far since the floor will be at a different distance. I also plan for the character to sway slightly with tilting like they are trying to compensate for it and also have issues walking up the tilts if they are aggressive enough adding a new form of challenge to the game. There will now also as a side effect be a form of acceleration causing your character to have to adjust to the acceleration though that may change as it’s just a current effect of it. I’m wondering if anyone has any suggestions for things to change or do and also if I can’t get it to work would people just want a mod that tilts the camera depending on velocity in a certain direction so the sub appears to tilt.

TLDR: entertaining tilty submarine mod is fun but annoying to make but would be awesome if it did work

Wiring help pls im slow

Heyo folks, I'm trying to make decent use of the portable pumps but I also don't want bots dying stupidly. Is there any way I can have the "hatch with buttons" stay locked while there's water? Best guess is have "water detector" send a signal to the hatch but it didn't give the best results.

Singleplayer Campaign Submarine

First of all Hiiii😊

I would like to ask what submarine would fit the singleplayer Campaign mode (One player and 5~ bots)

I dont want it to be too large to handle like Herja or Berilla while it has Tier 3 survivability (unlike dugong 🙄)

[Bug] Barotraumatic causing endless item spawn / infinite loot drop on enemy spawn

Hey guys,

I'm having a really annoying issue with Barotraumatic after the Spring Update 2026.

Problem:
Some enemies (especially various Husk variants, Crawlers, Mudraptors, etc.) continuously spawn/drop items infinitely as soon as they appear. It doesn't always happen, but when it triggers, the server starts lagging extremely hard within minutes and eventually becomes unplayable.

Console Error:
I keep getting spammed with:
[Barotraumatic] Invalid action type "OnDeconstructed" in StatusEffect (Humanhusk..., Crawlerlord, Mudraptor, etc.)

It seems like the mod is still using old StatusEffect types that no longer work properly after the new deconstruct system.

Mods I'm using:

  • Barotraumatic (main suspect)
  • SOFA'S CREATURES
  • Chimera Remake
  • Arakneas' Mod
  • T.S.M Missions + several other smaller mods

Tried so far:

  • Reinstalled Barotraumatic multiple times
  • Disabled Arakneas' Mod
  • Removed and redownloaded the mod

Has anyone else been experiencing this infinite item spawn bug recently?
Is there a fix or a newer hotfix for Barotraumatic that I missed? Or should I just disable it until the author fixes the StatusEffect conflicts?

Any help would be appreciated. This bug is killing my campaign runs.

(Neurotrauma) Low health without injury?

Hello, I am playing single player with the following mods:

-Barotraumatic

-Neurotrauma

-Realistic sonar

-Enhanced Immersion

All of my crew members have sustained great injuries but I've taken the care to keep them alive. For convenience I don't always fully heal my crew if they're very hurt and close to the next station because I'd rather pay the doctor to take care of it, I mostly just make sure they don't bleed out or their brain stops hemorrhaging. But I've noticed as time has gone on that even when I fully clear a person's injuries they don't go back up to 100%, pictured is a security officer with only a bruise at around 60% condition. My mechanic is worst, he's almost dead without any visible reason to explain, and it's not like it's worsening or improving, that's just their new max.

I'm assuming it's due to neurotrauma but I'm not sure. Do the doctors not fix all neurotrauma conditions? Is it a bug? Are the hardships of life on a sub just getting to them? I'm not going to give them pensions. Please advise if you know what the cause of this is and how I can heal my crew.

Orange Boy Powered Shuttle

You could make a shuttle powered entirely by an orange boy. You keep it in the balalst—and don't forget to fill the ballast with toy-like decorations—and you have a motion detector in the ballast which only detects living pets. It's hooked up to a relay component to block or allow a hidden infinite battery or something. This way it seems like the orange boy is powering the ship with its hamster wheel or something.

I wanted to make this, and make a shuttle shaped like an orange boy for it, but I'm not skilled enough for that so I'm giving y'all the idea in case you want to make it. The wiring sounds pretty easy but the decoration is not.

Don't forget to feed and play with your pets. The clowns will cram a hammerhead into your locker if you abuse your pets.
