Colin's letters

Say what you want about the kid (I still don't understand the hate honestly) but the fact he wrote letters for everyone, including baylens bridesmaids, is really thoughtful and it seems like he wrote them all from the heart. What a tear jerker this episode was!

A somewhat serious question. How distracting is it for Colin to be telling a story or explaining something and then Baylen tics all over it?

I'm just imagining at the start of S3E12 "And now I'm just waiting on" "Dick" "approval."

Like how hard is it to just continue the conversation without busting out in giggles. I understand her tics are not controllable, but they often have perfect comedic timing.

Was that it??

Either earlier on in the season, or in promo interviews, Baylen mentions that they will be getting deeper into other things she struggles with, like bipolar disorder and endometriosis. At some points I wanted to quit watching because of all the forced drama, but I stayed, waiting for the storyline to shift. Next episode will be the end of the season, and now I’m looking back confused.

Was the struggle with bipolar storyline (I don’t know a better word to use) just her forgetting her meds when going to Myrtle?? And endometriosis; was that just going to the doctor and kinda getting a whole lot of nothing?

It’s frustrating that this season is just wedding planning and family drama. I’m interested in Baylen’s story because I’m someone who struggles with many chronic physical and mental health conditions, and I see myself in her in many ways. I just wish there were more a focus on disability advocacy and acceptance, which used to be something Baylen seemed passionate about. But I guess that probably doesn’t bring in the views (and $$$’s).

S3 E9, Sammie and Baylen talk after the Bridal shower.

Sammie reaction was shitty! If someone comes to you about how they feel, then you start playing the victim... ew. I get that Sammie has anxiety and OCD but come the fuck on. She's like "oh me, me, me." You show up the day of Baylen's bridal shower to set it up?!? If I was Baylen, I would be pissed!

Allen.

Say what you want about him... but what you CAN'T say is that he doesn't care about Baylen and her well-being.

The "safe space" he made for her to take a moment to breathe and gather her thoughts, or if she genuinely needed space for a moment, was absolutely beautiful.

Allen really loves his daughter, and it shows.
The bond they have is irreplaceable.

Way to go, Al.
Father of the year award goes to youu!

Edit to add: the scene where she showed her dad the dress, and he broke down crying, and she told him she loved him so much, that he's the best dad in the whole world, he's her hero, that he's been her rock her entire life, her backbone, and her support... I was 😭 like a baby.
(I don't have a dad to walk me down the aisle so I was super emotional)

Hot take…

I think baylens mom is REALLY pessimistic and negative and feel like that’s where Sammy gets her negativity from as well. The whole time since the rehearsal up until the ceremony her mom was commenting on her tics but also almost felt like she was wishing something went wrong!

Colin and the Horse

Ok so I am a fan of Colin, however I’m wondering since he wanted to ride in on a horse so bad was he ever around horses? Does he know how sensitive they are and how horses feed off your energy? Colin was so nervous…not good. No wonder the horse took a dump lol.

Sammy and her flying fear

First things first, I do not blame Sammy for having a fear of flying mixed with her anxiety/OCD. My questions are; is she scared to travel? Can she not drive? Is she trying to stay away from her family? I'm generally curious.

Wedding Rehearsal episode

Am I the only one crying during this episode?! I LOVE seeing people in love and seeing people have so much joy and happiness🥰😭 I love weddings. Bayley and Colin are perfect together. He is so patient with her. He isn't worried nor judgmental regarding her tics. And the horse surprise was the best!

The three sibling photo

Did anyone notice how Sammie looked when her brother put his arms around her for the photo?

maybe I'm reading too much into this, but she looks upset.

Team Sammie

I’ve heard a lot of shade being thrown at Sammie with no consideration for her own battles with mental health. I hope the wedding showed the haters that she’s got a good heart and deals with her own stuff as best she can. May we all have compassion for each other and approach all people with that - ESPECIALLY when we don’t know first hand what someone has to work through just to show up. ❤️

Collin is either selfish or delusional

I'm new to this show but I just have to express some frustrations with Collin while I'm halfway through season 2.

First, he's insecure about premarital counseling. A very normal thing for couples to do before marriage. He even said it made him nervous because "What if it brings up stuff we aren't ready to deal with?" Then you shouldn't be getting married!!

I'm currently on episode 6 of season 2 and I fully agree with Baylen's dad about Collin needing to find a financially stable job with health benefits. (Which seems to be an unpopular opinion on this sub.) But even Baylen seemed concerned about it. And Collin just didn't seem to care. Like he cares more about finding a job that is fun for him. I understand that he wants to choose a job he enjoys. Who doesn't? But how can you be okay with maybe not receiving a paycheck for months or even a year as he says? Or not having medical care for your wife? It would be okay if he wasn't getting married so young to a woman who has high support and medical needs. But he is. And instead, he's choosing himself and his wants over his wife's needs. This tells me they are absolutely not ready for marriage.

I also find Collin's aversion to getting married on Baylen's family's property to be a pretty big red flag. Mostly because of his reasoning. He says it's because they need to make decisions together without her family's influence. This comes off extremely controlling to me. I absolutely agree that setting healthy boundaries with your in-laws is important. But I don't think that's whats happening here. It seems like he doesn't want to get married there solely because Allen suggested it. And I think Allen is just trying to encourage them to choose a more financially responsible option. If Baylen was adamantly against it, that would be one thing. But she only seems opposed because Collin is. She tried bringing it back up as an option because venues are so expensive, but he just shot her down. He's trying to talk Baylen into asking Allen to back off which reeks of controlling and insecure behavior to me.

Alan’s tie pin

I noticed Alan had a blue ribbon pinned to his tie, and later he shows it to Baylen. I don’t know what it stands for, but it seemed so sweet of him.

Baylen rehearsal

What is with scruffy facial hair on Alan and Colin? For pictures, hope they shave for wedding day. And Mom's rehearsal dress? She seems more hip than that. Wedding ceremony and reception will be such a challenge for Baylen: all eyes on her. At my reception, 550 guests. Grabbing, gawking, hugging. Spun around. Faces you knew, names hard to recall. Best day ever, but exhausting. Hope she can enjoy it and keep tics controlled.

Baylen’s Insecurity

I thought it was very telling when she said that she & Collin would be staying in the same room the night before the wedding (“I COULDN’T be away from him for even one night”) or words to that effect.

Either she was having a serious case of FOMO or she’s incredibly insecure about him and didn’t want him “doing fun stuff” (without her) and hanging out with his buddies.

Was she afraid he’d be drinking? She was jealous that no one was offering to “party” with her that night? 🤷‍♀️

And just as weird, he didn’t fight for traditions sake at all. I think they’re both going to get sick of the control (and the lack of initiative, dependence) very quickly once the honeymoon phase is over.

Horse Girl Rant

When Colin first mentioned wanting to ride into his wedding on horseback, I envisioned him riding some mellow, low-to-the-ground Quarter Horse type thing. But wow. Who the hell picked this horse?? It’s a gigantic, ~17hh spooky Warmblood. In a dressage saddle… with no helmet…
Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for incorporating horses into weddings. But for an obvious beginner like Colin who doesn’t even know how to properly hold the reins there could not be a worse match. The horse spooking at his initial attempt to pet and then later the dogs says it all. Plenty of horses can handle such things but not this one. And I personally believe in putting male beginner riders in western style saddles due to their roominess and “oh shit” handles. A dressage saddle is custom fitted to its rider, who is usually a petite woman. Not ole Big Booty Colin who looks extremely uncomfortable and scared. As anyone would be in his position. The horse is gorgeous and high quality, but clearly better suited for an intermediate to advanced rider. I don’t know how this isn’t a liability. Shame on their wedding planners for whatever “strings” they pulled to achieve this. And shame on that lady riding in with no helmet!

Edit: Guys I really don’t fault Colin at all here! Yeah he’s cringe but I fully believe either production, the wedding planners, or both took his idea and ran with it and failed to vet whatever source that white horse came from. I truly believe they picked the local Dressage nut down the street. I have ridden horses for 24 years and I have seen that lady a million times. Almost every barn and certainly every type of riding has them—the ones who take careless risks like not wearing a helmet or driving the 6 horse trailer home drunk after a fox hunt. Colin is a victim of poor horsemanship!

Rehearsal 🩷💚💜

As a Baylen fan (before the show), & a married woman of 36 yrs & a former wedding planner/director…I’ve seen & had to deal with worse than that!

Look, the rehearsal was exactly like it was because it’s Baylen!🩷
Though it seemed chaotic…they all are! (Maybe no 🐴 horse 💩 poop)😅
But in all the time I’ve been involved with weddings from my own to the many clients/friends I’ve helped over the years, rehearsals are hard! That’s why you have them…to iron out as many issues as possible before the actual wedding. The bride & groom are typically great…but the wedding party was always my trouble makers!🙄

Baylen was gorgeous, Colin was full of love & every one there was there just for them.🩵
I love that she went big! ✨✨
Like Allen said “she planned her dream wedding…not her Tourette’s wedding”! Exactly!👏🏼

In the end, it’s about 2 people who went through a lot of tough times before meeting. They were brought together to heal , accept & comfort each other.💜 These two will be fine…😊

I used to tell all the couples I worked with, “that no matter what happens…at the end of the day, you will be married and starting your life together”.❤️
These are the words my Dad said to me before he walked me down the aisle…36 yrs ago.🥹
