What’s your thoughts on new collab with Mexican Institute of Sound?
To me it sounds like good old Beck, Guero vibes. So far one of the better years for the fandom with new fire tracks dropped that sound like a return to form

Cool and fun track. Definitely get some Odelay vibes at moments.
i LOVEEEE hyperspace, it's one of my favorite albums of him, but I don't know any beck fans who actually like it 😭😭😭
I'm trying to make a playlist to help my friend get into Beck because I told her if she heard the right songs of his, she'd probably really like him. She really likes David Bowie, Sublime, and some Johnny Cash, so I'd love to get some songs recommended from yall for her playlist
Just in from Amazon...was intrigued to find this wasn't the BG/Pallas or Levi pressing, but a brand new pressing made by Conectiv in Mexico (see runout matrix in 4th image). Some copies are stamped "VINYL MADE IN MEXICO" on the shrinkwrap but mine isn't.
First copy was defective with some nasty scratches and scuffs, second is fine. Sounds great too, very full & dynamic. The low end really kicks in right around "Hotwax". I wasn't expecting much for a generic mastering job but this kind of shocked me! Impressive for a LONG single-LP (51+ minutes), and it's not even DMM. Same alt mix as prior vinyl reissues too.
You just have to be cautious of the quality control. I'm reading reports that scratches and scuffs are common on Vantiva/Conectiv pressings, including the current Sea Change.
Does anyone else have this variant yet?
Been sitting with this album for a week now and while originally I couldn't get enough of "Que Onda Güero" these are my current picks.
1.- Gotta be "Scarecrow" for me, could be on Odelay no problem! Fun fun fun!
2.- "Missing" is just awesome
3.- "Farewell Ride" is also quite good, Jhonny Cash vibe and whatnot
Extra: Rental Car is fun!
What is your current top 3
Still not enough
I personally have found that there probably never will be a time when Beck is what everyone is listening to. We simply aren't ready for for him to be everyone's favorite. This kinda goes hand in hand wit the entire concept of individuality between people but my main point is that we will probably not see a time where Beck is universally liked across the globe. Now this isnt to say that there haven't been and aren't times when his music is incredibly popular within certain groups but my main point is that the world just inst ready for this level of musical innovation.
I might just be crazy but let me know what you all think.
Just gotta say tonights concert was simply fantastic! The orchestral backing was impeccable and Beck and co were as tight as ever, great stage chemistry and an engaging setlist.
So glad I went and finally saw Beck! Wanted to see him when he came down to Australia last time back in 2023 but sadly had to skip because of work committments, more than made up for it by going tonight!
It was a wonderful event. The songs sounded incredible with the full Symphony Orchestra. In particular, "Round The Bend" was very beautiful.
I think my favourite moment of the night was when the orchestra had left, and Beck was exploring the stage. He couldn't resist banging the enormous gong at the back, and then deadpanned "I think I just unlocked my 17th chakra".
I found this sticker at Wuxtry Records in Athens, Ga. I’m so excited!!
