Joao’s name

Does anyone else feel enraged on Joao’s behalf that so many crew members mispronounce his name? It’s actually not that difficult so it’s either laziness or a micoraggression. It drives me nuts every time I hear someone called him Jo-el or Jwaa.

Was there not a cleanliness standard for cabins?

Some of the crew cabins look awful, was there not a standard that was supposed to be kept or was that only in earlier seasons / not under captain Jason?

Why is Mike getting into everyone’s business?

Why on earth, is Mike such a lazy gossip, who spends more time talking about Alessia and her flirty behaviour while having a boyfriend than concentrating on his tasks? Alessia’s behaviour is NONE of his business.

Aesha letting Margot do service on the last charter.

I’m baffled by this decision especially after Margot was caught drinking while doing service? And Aesha not even discussing it with Jamiee first? I like Aesha but whyyyyy did she do that?? She even acknowledges that no other Chief Stew would allow such an arrangement

Joy is such a queen

Her level of directness and complete absence of f*cks to give is so incredibly refreshing. Women talk about other women not being "girl's girls" but IMO, Joy is far and beyond the best kind of woman. I would be friends with her in an instant.

She is honest with everyone, gender regardless and prioritizes herself above everyone. She is not susceptible to intimidation and that's a rare quality.

I absolutely adore her. I hope she sticks around. She is so much fun to watch.

Bring S2 Adam back

Doing a S2 rewatch and I’m realising Adam was such an underrated crew member. We need more mature, down to earth, crew members with very hot accents to balance out the usual crew drama. C’mon, the guy has to buy his mama and sibs a house, bring him back Jason!!!

i really don't like ben

i'm watching season 4 and i find ben so unbearable. he treats and talks to people like shit and gets upset when people have an issue with it but also expects everyone to "have his back" bc of trauma or wtv it's just giving double standard. i've watched him on other seasons and didn't like him on any season he's been on and i hate that they keep putting him on😭

Why all the added sound effects??

I’m rewatching, and almost done with season two, and the amount of sound effects they’ve clearly added.. like the gulping, and such.

Why was this needed?? If I was crew and saw they added these sounds to me drinking, I’d be mortified. lol

Dream Team Bravo Crossover

Below Deck Mediterranean has turned into a💩 show.
Literally
Messy, classless guests, to bring what? My FF button getting worn out…

Dream crossover, Down Under, with Captain Jason, an elite crew, it would be so fun.

Lisa V, Lu DeS, Sophia, Kathy Hilton, Tilly…+ one more.

Classy silly fun, no insane screaming, immature, FF.

There maybe a broken glass, but not thrown at anyone…

It’d have to be a big boat, they come with a lot, as they deserve to with their success.

I would love this….

Who is a worse bosun? Jamie Sayed or Wihan du Toit?

I just watched season 1 and i thought to myself, “wow Jamie is an awful bosun.” But then I remembered that Wihan exists lol

Ben 😖 so up his own behind on season four

Just starting season 4. Seriously, I was hoping Ben wasn’t as much of an arse as I remembered him as being. Hopes dashed. Poor souschef. Makes me think Tzarina was quite different to most of the other chefs on the show.

Ellie slayed this season

I’m sure this is a controversial opinion in this sub but I think Ellie absolutely SLAYED this season. Sure she had some drama but she worked so hard. I was expecting not to like her based on her previous season but she completely changed my mind!

I’ve always been a huge Daisy fan but I’m getting the feeling she is over reacting a lot towards the end of the season regarding Ellie. I’m wondering if she was expecting Ellie to fail with Ben and she’s resentful that they are actually getting along and Ellie is holding her own.

Please tell me if I’m delulu

Ryan Rant

Edit: misspelled Aesha’s name in my rant mode. Fixed now

Just started watching season 1. I’m not a psychologist and I know this is reality TV but Ryan’s behavior during the season is a perfect example of the serious strain volatile men with no self awareness place on the women around them. Allow me to explain:

  1. In the bar he makes a giant scene about these men “disrespecting women” (which should have been called out) but in the process puts several people in harms way by throwing/breaking glass and almost starting a fight. Despite his belief that he is the the one true champion for his female coworkers, he ignores Tumi’s request to let it go, makes his own anger the center of attention, and refuses to consider how his actions might have been wrong and likely made the night more stressful on the girls he was claiming to defend.
  2. While asserting that he doesn’t put up with disrespect towards women, he constantly belittles/degrades Aesha and her work through the entire season.
  3. He goes off on Tumi in front of everyone. Tumi, who has been incredibly patient and calm with him, gets yelled at for rightfully telling Aesha the nasty things he said behind her back. Ryan tries to make it seem like TUMI is being toxic and once again turns a night that was supposed to be a break into an uncomfortable and unenjoyable situation for her and Aesha.
  4. The one woman he seems to treat with respect is Magda and ONLY because she agrees with his opinions e.g. his baseless bashing of Aesha. Ryan already believes he is right in all these situations and Magda just gave him more ammunition to fire at the other stews who were already having to pick up both of their slack.

I wanted to write about this because I have experienced this exact attitude/behavior many times. Of course women can have the same flaws and can also cause undue stress and emotional labor on others around them. But men like Ryan (Ryan on the show don’t know him in real life of course) will never even consider those consequences or the extra emotional weight they’re forcing the women around them to carry.
