Question about Gangster sizing

Hello,

Is the Gangster leather jacket smaller than a Cougar/Brooklands due to the elastic side panels? I have a Cougar in 56/xxxl and that fits me perfectly. Is the Gangster smaller on the waist/tummy? Been eyeing a nice one online but the seller says it’s too small for him although I am a bit taller and heavier than him.
