Good afternoon people.
So I’m ready to purchase the Benelli M4 3 position adjustable stock.
Does this provide enough positions for the average user?
The question is anyone who has either replaced their stock or purchased the LE which has this stock as standard equipment.
Thank you.
I have a Holosun 509T that I’d like to run on my M4 EXT and co-witness with the irons. I reviewed the specs for the Scalarworks mount and it seems like the 509T does not co-witness. Does anyone run an enclosed optic on their M4 EXT that provides co-witness? Does anyone run a 509T on their M4 EXT? How’s the co-witness?
Stippled it myself and man it’s tedious work, but she’s grippy now
Big thanks to everyone here who helped me finally decide on which shotgun to get!
I have a T-2 I want to put on my M4, but the Scalarworks Sync mounts seem to be unobtainium. Does anyone know of a spot that’s got them in stock? I feel like I’ve scoured the entire internet. Theres plenty of SYNC/02’s for the Beretta A300 and 1301, but just this one benelli mount is impossible. The other Sync/01’s besides the Micro are all in stock too.
Picked this up new about 2 months ago, got about 400ish rounds through it, and it's been awesome
Added a shell tactical mag tube extension, shell tactical charging handle. Wolff spring upgrade and max room follower
Midwest industries handguard, streamlight protac hl-x, and Velcro shell holder
Also got the shaffer machining m lok mount for the streamlight pressure pad
The optic is just a cheap osight I got to see if I liked that style optic. It's worked so far but I'm going to upgrade
Still want to do an oversized bolt release and some QD mounts for a sling.
Unfortunately due to NY law the stock can't be adjustable so I'm stuck with this fixed stock.
Picked this up at a LGS used. $1489 before taxes, $1617 out the door. There is a nick in the frame plus some marking that can probably be cleaned off. I've never worked on a gun with this metal so I would appreciate input on the proper way to clean the marking off.
Anybody ever deal with Numrich Gun Parts? Reputable?
Hey guys I have a benelli m4 I’ve been tryning my hardest to “break in” I’ve shot 440 rounds through it so far mostly the heaviest duck pheasant buck and slugs I can find to break it in. It mostly functions ok while actually firing however it has a major issue on every reload and also it does it once in awhile while shooting. Now I’ve taken it fully apart excluding the trigger group internals 4 times basically every 100 round range trip I’ve been fully degreasing and heavily relubing everything to rule out anything lube or cleanliness related. The “ jam”clears if I smack the bolt handle forward with my hand ( sorta like it doenst have enough recoil around tension but I’m sure it does)
So tonight I took it all apart again to try to look really good for any abnormal wear spots and degrease and maybe try to polish a few spots carefully. So I found many spots with abnormal wear and wondering what some gunsmiths on here might think which area would be the problem I need to fix I don’t really wanna have to pay to send it in and wait months to get it back and so far customer service has been absolutely terrible just ignoring my questions.
The bolt tail has some sharp edges mushrooming at the rear that keep getting worse every 100 rounds.
The bolt carrier latch has some wierd edges on it where it seems to be biting into the bolt release/ shell latch.
The trigger group has a heavy worn line in it that kinda coincides with that.
There’s a little dent in the bolt carrier group looks like they dropped it lightly at the factory maybe before finishing it.
By the follower there’s a pretty worn area looks like where the shells come out maybe that’s bare aluminum
Typical wear front if the bolt carrier where the 2 pistons hit. But also a 3 spot that’s quite scratched on that face.
The bolt carrier slides freely in the rails with trigger group out all feels well there
The hammer and the shell lift lever ( I don’t know the correct term) both have a little peening on them
Gun is run dripping wet with good lube each range trip to rule out any dryness issues and completely stripped of any dirt or old lube each trip.
What would you think would be catching ? The tail in the recoil tube?
The brass colored shell lifter sharp edge catching on the bolt release/ shell latch?
I put a picture of what it’s doing on a reload a sharp smack lets it chamber 3/4 the time it runs without jams for the 7 shells but in the reload you gotta smack it and maybe 5 out of 100 times it jams.
I can grab more pictures of the wear parts if needed. I’ve only found maybe 2 other threads on the whole internet with this issue and no resolution been trying to figure this out for months less
Curious what folks here might recommend? I already have a factory SBS M4 Entry model that I absolutely love and want to get a companion in the full size category.
I have an opportunity (assuming stock is still there) to get a M1014 for around $1300 new through a friend at my LGS but it seems there is a lot of back and forth on what it can be fed and obviously I’ll want to change out the bolt release, shelf and tube extension.
Alternatively I could just get a M4 EXT for a hair bit more and get the benefit of the choke system which my SBS does not have. Seems the bolt release is already enlarged so the shelf swap would likely be it.
Penny for your thoughts? Besides the thicker barrel and just the M1014 being what it is, would there be any reason to not just get the EXT?
Can’t wait to break this in!
I don’t care for the whole “AI Drone Guardian”.
Just love how it comes fully decked out.
Finally have my dream shotgun on the way. It has the original handguard and I’m just curious what’s the best route to put a light on it, a barrel or tube clamp or a m-lok handguard.
I see a lot of “complaints” on here about finish, loading issues, figment, etc on the newer m4’s. I got my M4 in 2022 and have had ZERO issues with anything. Did they switch up where they’re made or what they use for finish/parts (if they outsource for parts) or are people just being picky?
Honest question... When doing maintenance, is it a bad thing to over oil? Last time I did any sort of cleaning was a year ago. I oiled inside the receiver rails where the bolt carrier slides back and forth. I also oiled the bottom of the bolt carrier where it slides inside the receiver. After 150 rounds through it, I've noticed a lot carbon build up happening. I'm seeing it on the argo pistons as well when I look inside. Hopefully it's not an issue. I'll be cleaning her up and oiling tomorrow after the range.
