Waitlist
Waitlist stress is real and there is almost no info out there about Berklee’s waitlist process/numbers at all. Anyone heard about getting off the waitlist for fall 26?

Curious what everyone here thinks. Here's the full interview if anyone is interested. https://youtu.be/y0q7HPIlDUI?si=1t470sU4YajB5vQt
Hey everyone,
I’m currently working through page 29 of Volume 2 of William Leavitt’s A Modern Method for Guitar and I’m struggling a bit with the D triad section.
I’m especially confused about:
1.the fingering choices Leavitt suggests
2.how and when the position shifts are supposed to feel/ occur
3.why certain triads use repeated fingerings that seem awkward at first
4.how to practice the page efficiently without getting lost
If anyone here studied at Berklee or has worked deeply through the Modern Method series, I’d really appreciate any explanation, fingering advice, or practice tips. Even a short video or picture explanation would help a lot.
Thanks!
This is a question for all the Berklee alumni out there doing music (so, still professionally musicians, but in ANY capacity). What is your take on core music? I know it's claimed to be at the heart of Berklee education, but I am wondering if it's building such a strong musicianship as some people think? Did studying Harmony, Conducting, Counterpoint, etc. help you and turned out to be helpful in your professional career? Or do you still look at that as a waste of time? Just curious as I keep hearing all sort of different takes on this (and now even the AI thing-- let's NOT talk about that)
Hi! I got admitted to the songwriting and production master at Berklee NYC but I am having doubts about going. I am looking to speak to recent graduates who can tell me more about the quality of the program as I can't really find anything substantial online. I was shocked by the questions asked on the audition and would love to hear firsthand how people experienced the program.
I have received 30,000$ from Berklee and I'm currently waiting for a grant from my home country for 35,000$. This would obviously cover my tuition but the costs would still be quite high considering I'm an international student. Aside from this I'm already a part-time audio professional working as a FoH technician and doing small studio production/engineering jobs. I have no shortage of knowledge but I would love to extend my network and am eager to learn new tricks and meet people.
If anyone has any connections to recent graduates please link me up! Or write a small anecdote below, I'm sure more people would be interested in your experience as a student.
Thank you!!! So much!!!
I posted here about a month or so ago regarding going back as an adult (38M) learner to finally get my music degree. After many back & forth emails with the advisor and admissions offices, I felt like this would be something I could do. I wrote up my personal statement, got my recommendation letters, and as an extra I submitted two songs I wrote this year in Logic. I got the email back saying they accepted me for the Songwriting and Music Production program!
I'm super ecstatic about this! This honestly was a school I always wanted to go to but for various reasons didn't believe it was anything more than a pipe dream. Granted its online (kinda wish I could get a redo the college life phase of my life), and part time but I'm still a bit in disbelief that I was considered as anything close to being qualified enough to be accepted to Berklee. I am so freaking happy!
I'm halfway through music for beginners atm (took it as a personal remediation class before I started to think about going back) and will start as an official student in June taking Theory 101.
I've been trying to reach out to other students to make friends, connections, network, etc with minor success, and that has been the hardest thing. I'm both kinda introverted but also online schooling ups the difficulty of meeting other classmates and making meaningful connections. But the online program looked pretty robust and something that had a lot of work put into. I don't live anywhere close to MA, so visiting is not something that I would be able to pull off easily w/ a full-time job, but I'm thinking that next year I may go to the On-Campus workshop that is held every year (cant recall the name atm). Unable to go to it this year, unfortunately.
So if anyone wants to connect (be you an online student or a campus student), lemme know and I can shoot you a DM with my contact info, school email etc...
