New bike: Orbea Orca
I did change the default tires to GP5000 32mm, instead of the Corsa Pro 29mm.

getting Headlands 3 as a replacement of my broken Nicasio 2. the frame lively and fun on gravel and rocks.
Nice late afternoon ride on my S9 Matta...smooth
I had previously had an Era White Gen8 Madone, but its life came to an abrupt end when a car hit me at the end of a training ride last July. This is the replacement that I received earlier this year, but hadn't prioritized photographing.
Size 56 (M/L) Purple Phaze
E1 Force is quite a bit more of an upgrade than I was expecting it to be. The braking power and modulation is far superior to D1/D2, and the shifts are crisper, especially on the front. I do look forward to the next groupset being direct mount for an even crisper feeling, especially under load.
... Many iterations of this bike and finally I am happy with the build;
Velocity blunt (Panaracer 27.5 x 2.4) with Custom Hope Vespar hubs, BB7 brakes, SLX 2x10, Surly Cornerbars and a few more upgrades to come...
This is my 2012 Surly Cross-Check. It needed fresh powder coat, but I took the opportunity as an excuse for a whole new build. Everything is new/NOS stuff that I painstakingly tracked down over the last several months. I have some SimWorks Smooth fenders and a Tubus Tara Stainless front rack still on the way.

Wanted to try steel bikes. Got this frame and built it. Now that I see the blue, I kinda wish I had gotten the « naked steel » paint.
Lovely plush ride. For anyone wondering, yes, you will be pushing harder to get to similar speeds as other materials. I have had a TCR before and current is the yoeleo r12. The carbon performance cannot be matched.
Carbon fork, which makes for a weird bike behaviour. It’s booty - heavy. Front end feels twitchy in comparison. While this is not the end all be all steel experience, it gave me enough to get a taste. It’s not for performance. But for a commuter, the position is relaxed, makes for a fun ride and I always end up taking the long way home. That’s all I need to know.
I will not be taking it to the fast club rides. That’s just asking for pain.
I took this pic in 2011. I was my favorite bike. I did three California AIDS rides (San Francisco to Los Angeles in seven days) on it. I hope that someone is still enjoying it.
Plan to finish build is

Posted this a few days ago and it was deleted. Here it goes again. Seems like some shady stuff going on. I clearly didn't break any rules. Let's see what the "Mod" thinks about this post.
Built up this frame as a cheap aliexpress build and its now my favourite bike.
New color. What are we thinking?
