I’ve been doing a lot of research and I’m seeing a lot of different information. I see some sources say summer temperatures average 24°C-26°C and that it rarely goes above that, but I also saw someone say it can get up to 40°C sometimes. I just want to know the average temperature in the summer, and how often do heatwaves occur. Also is there an exorbitant amount of bugs as well? I’ve been contemplating a move there and I want to be very thorough before I make a decision.

Me llamo Sofía y soy una gata de 4 años. Escribo porque mi pequeña familia está buscando piso en Vizcaya o alrededores y pensé que quizá alguien por aquí pueda darnos una patita.

Ahora mismo vivimos en Italia, pero nos mudaremos muy pronto porque mi humana va a estudiar una maestría en la UPV/EHU y el humano grande (Luca) que trabaja como chef pastelero de alta cocina ha decidido seguirla, se quieren tanto como Iñigo Lekue y el Athletic. Y eso implica que mis humanos y yo debemos mudarnos 1 año y medio.

Mis humanos son tranquilos y bastante responsables. Son personas ordenadas, limpias y muy caseras. No fuman, no salen de fiesta ni tienen hábitos problemáticos. Les gusta pasar el tiempo en casa jugando juegos de mesa, videojuegos, cartas o leyendo. En general, somos una familia silenciosa (yo incluida… bueno, casi siempre).

Estamos buscando un alquiler entre 700€ y 950€ al mes, preferiblemente en Bilbao o alrededores, pero no hace falta estar en pleno centro. Lo importante es que haya buena conexión en transporte público para poder llegar a la universidad y al trabajo.

Y sí tenían alguna, viene la parte importante: YO. Yo también formo parte del pack como líder de la manada. Soy una gata educada, esterilizada y acostumbrada a vivir en piso/departamento. Mis humanos me cuidan muchísimo (como debe ser, obviamente), y la casa siempre está limpia y bien cuidada.

Entendemos que encontrar piso desde otro país no es fácil, así que cualquier ayuda, contacto o recomendación será muy agradecida. Si conocéis algún piso disponible o a alguien que alquile y acepte una pequeña reina felina, podéis escribirnos. Si logran ayudarnos prometo ordenar a mis humanos a ir a alentar al Athletic al San Mames cada fin de semana mientras vivamos en Bilbao.

Kaixo guztioi! Ekainean, amarekin Bilbo bisitatuko dut, eta hiritik kilometro gutxira aurkitu dugu gaztelu epiko hau, Butroeko gaztelua. Hala ere, zenbait jende ikusi dut kexatzen gaztelua eraikitzen ari direlako eta, beraz, ezin delako sartu. Egia al da? Eskerrik asko aurreratzean :)

¡Hola a todos! En junio visitaré Bilbao con mi madre y vimos un castillo impresionante a pocos kilómetros de la ciudad: el Castillo de Butrón. Sin embargo, he visto que algunas personas se quejan de que el castillo está en obras y, por lo tanto, no se puede entrar. ¿Es cierto? Gracias de antemano :)

Hi! My home university is offering Erasmus mobility programme to Bilbao and as I speak Spanish and love their culture, I’m thinking about going there. However, I can’t really find useful information about how an exchange semester looks like at Desto. How hard is it? Is academic stress prevalent? How good are English taught courses? Are there many exams or essays? If you have participated in the programme before or know anything about it could you give me a closer insight? Btw the course is Business Administration Ba.

Summers are getting hotter and last summer was too hot. I tried opening the windows at night and literally hundreds of bugs came in attracted to the lights. So that's out.

I'm originally from Miami and we basically run the AC 24/7/365 I love opening the windows in Bilbao when it's cold, but I can't sleep in the heat!

Hello. I've got a ticket for the Athletic - celta vigo match on the 17th. I need to get to my hotel by the airport for midnight at the latest. I will be picking up my suitcase from the intermodal lockers after the game. I have read that it is very difficult to get a taxi/uber after the game and that there will be long queues for the A3247 bus that goes to the airport.

Can anyone advise me of the best way of getting to the airport after the game and what time I can realistically get there for?

I have been travelling around Europe for research for the last seven years, and I have been living in Spain for the last four while doing my PhD (tengo seguridad social, NIE, paid taxes, empadronamiento). In a couple of months, I will be finishing my phd, and I would like to move to Bilbao as soon as possible (June-July), get to know the city, and later start looking for postdoctoral positions.

Since I am still officially enrolled in a PhD program, I am considered a student. Economically, I currently rely on paro, which is enough for me if the rent is around €400–500 per month.

My question is: is it realistic to find a shared flat in Bilbao without having an active work contract? Are there landlords or shared flats that accept students/PhD candidates in this situation?

Also, apart from Idealista, are there any other forums, Facebook groups, Telegram groups, university platforms, or local websites where I could look for rooms or shared flats?

me mude a bilbao hace un año desde un pueblucho mas pequeño de bizkaia, llevo un rato buscando algun colectivo/academia que ofrezca clases de dibujo en vivo/figure drawing/gesture drawing/llamalo x, me da un poco de palo ir sola al parque a practicar en transeuntes, alguien sabe si hay algun grupo que haga eso mismo?? o, alternativamente, si a alguien le interesa hacer un plan asi 😄

I will be coming to Bilbao for 6 months starting in August and because I intend to surf a lot during my stay I planned to come by car. What is the situation with parking in the city? Is there a possibility to get monthly tickets at the public parking spots, and how much would that cost? Or is the only way to look for an apartment with a parking spot? I am very grateful for any help with this matter.

Voy para allá unos días y paso de las típicas guías de turistas. Lo que de verdad me apetece es quemar las botas en el monte y gastar el obturador de la cámara. Busco rutas de senderismo potentes, de esas con vistas que te dejan mudo, tanto por la costa como por el interior. Si hay algún rincón fotogénico que no salga en la primera página de Google, ¡decídmelo!

Y por supuesto, después de la caminata habrá que recuperar fuerzas. ¿Dónde se come un menú del día de los que hacen época o cuáles son vuestros pintxos imbatibles? No me mandéis a lo de siempre, busco lo auténtico, lo que recomendáis a vuestra cuadrilla.

I'm planning to visit bilbao & san sebastian between may 15-19 and I was wondering how constant the rain usually is? since I came to barcelona to study, I've been dying to visit basque country and I don't want to delay it any more. would it be still a pleasant solo trip even with the rain? just to prepare myself, thanks xx

Hey folks, me and my partner are going to visit Bilbao for the weekend but we can't find a hotel or an airbnb for a decent price. Nothing below 1500 Euro for the most basic things, and most normal stuff is 3000 euro for 3 nights.

What is going on? I know i should have booked earlier and i was fine expecting to pay a bit more, but this is crazy.
Any hints?
