Any Good Rap Mags Anymore?

Oldhead here, so apologies. I came up loving rap in the era of XXL and The Source, which for me was the best way to discover new music. I’m much older now, but I’m still deep into music. I feel like I have at least one magazine for each of my genre interests — Decibel for Metal, MOJO for “classic” rock, etc etc — but I can’t seem to find one for rap. There was OG Press magazine for like a half second and I loved it, but then it died. I don’t wanna be at the mercy of the algo, and Fantano is a fucking assclown. I like Sam Bucked Up and Passion of the Weiss, but is there any semi-regular publication I should be getting on? Street Dreams was another one I liked that seemed to have stopped. Anyway: would love some suggestions.

If you like Mercy and Haram this is a must listen imo.

The only other Alchemist produced abstract hiphop album for an NYC based duo.

Is it just me or does memory death feel like a continuation of Corsair

I got the same uneasy hopeful feeling I did this first time I heard Corsair when memory death came on …. I was completely lost at words

I thinkb i think billy woods should write a song called big gulp

I think its a really provocative image.

Also a sort of spiritual successor to bigfakelaugh?

Thoughts?

2027 Vinyl Repress

Backwoodz said they were going to repress at least one billy woods solo project every year and this year they did Maps. Does anyone know what will be repressed in 2027 (or maybe something else in 2026)? What do you think will be repressed next?

Bars that get stuck in your head

Just curious as to what bars get stuck in your head the most.

One of my all times is "Its a freedom in admittin its not gonna get better"

Would you agree with this sentiment?

I’ve been listening to Maps heavily lately, and it genuinely feels like a summer album, works well on these fata morgana temperatures, especially the track stretch from Facetime till the very end.

Same with terror management- the cover alone is winter atmosphere, but also the production on some of the tracks, and lyrics too (Great Fires)
