What’s the latest on woods’ book?

I seem to remember reading in an interview early 2025 that he was writing either a novel or an autobiography…
I was wondering if any more information has surfaced since.

I’d absolutely love to have a full book’s worth of his beautiful prose

Y'know I never thought about how funny it is to have a song called "Bill Cosby" on an album called "History Will Absolve Me"

Like imagine someone just checks to see what your listening too and they see that

so, i wrote almost 24k words on Aethiopes. AMA

let's talk about one of the best albums ever made imo.

from the moment i first heard it i knew it was special. by chance i was reading "The Open Veins of Latin America" around the time the album came out and it felt like surreal reading the lyrics and seeing chapters of the book being vividly described.

why i did it ? "the devil moved my pencil". i had to do it i couldnt stop thinking about this album and had no one to talk to so i thought to put it in writting.

also i made a video if you guys care to check that out. a couple of people from the sub had asked me about it so here it is. its in portugues but i included english subs. hope y'all like it.

there were a couple of bars that i still don't have a good grasp on. i cant quite figure out why he used assata shakur dead name in smith + cross. i didnt put this on the video but the reading i have leads to think that it could be woods poetically lashing out against his romantic interest, seeing how tample grandin and carrie are mentioned.

also the third verse in haarlem. that one i had no idea what it was about. that one feels like a david lynch scene being described. i also did an analysis of kongi's harvest and cannibal tours. both great films that you should def check out if you haven't.

if y'all have any questions or interpretations lets talk about it. i don't claim to have all the answers i just want to share my thoughts and hear from you.

I’m looking for more of the lyrically dense rappers out there.

I’ve recently entered a race where I want to hear the best, most dense, cryptic lyricists out there. A couple of examples in my rathole I went down Earl, MIKE, Billy woods, quelle Chris, roc Marci, black thought, Mach. Is there anyone else anybody would recommend that can fall under these descriptions?

Any Saul Williams fans here?

I'm just relistening to his self-titled album for the first time in maybe 15 years, and the Telegram track could literally be an Armand Hammer release.

Saul Williams - Telegram

Even down to the mock-London accents at the end...?!

Relevator & WBDTS sale at Fat Possum

Sorry if this has been posted, just noticed it today… pretty steep discount on a lot of Fat Possum vinyl, they also have CDs and the Relevator cassette for only $5.

El-P’s fantastic damage is also on there for a solid price, not Backwoodz obviously but it’s a good album lol

Positive Backwoodz Playlist

Trynna make a playlist of kinda optimistic sounding beats from woods and company. I know they may be few and far between but I’m talking “NYC Tapwater” “Make No Mistake” “Stormy Weather” type shit. Maybe even some more melancholy stuff like “Doves” “Guinness”. Just mellow blowing smoke vibes. Any suggestions?

The playlist so far…

Unrelated, but why would the DOOMED! colored vinyl be called a "deluxe"?

To my knowledge the only difference is the color and the vinyl variant, nothing else... So do we think there might be a hidden bonus track?

Learning Comprehension and interpretation

I've been getting into Woods' music for the past few weeks now (after already being aware of his through other underground rappers) and I was marinating on the difficulty i have understanding the meaning of songs and entire albums. Mind you I'm not a native english speaker and Woods' writting is evidently complex even for natives, but I was wondering is there's anything I can do about that? (other than just repeatedly looking up stuff on Genius or looping songs) Thanks for your time reading.

woods Hot Takes?

I've been on a woods/AH binge lately and don't think he's put out anything truly terrible from what I've heard thus far. And the fanbase seems generally chill but it made me think: does anyone have any hot takes about his music? For me, after re-listening to Golliwog in the car yesterday, I think it should've ended with BLK ZMBY. Almost the whole album sounds like a horror movie and it would've been solidified without the last four songs. They're all good, don't get me wrong. But they don't fit as much thematically with the rest. Anyone else have anything?
