A little context before everything else. About 10 years ago I did a year-long 3D course where I learned a little bit of Maya, Zbrush and Unreal Engine, and I was absolutely fascinated by 3D, even dreaming to joining the industry. I didn't have access to the softwares outside of the course, so I learned that blender was free and decided to give it a try, as a way to practice at home at my old PC, and... I didn't like it one bit. The UI was confusing, I couldn't navigate the viewport and even do simple things that I had learned at maya, so I hated Blender at first (I think it was around the time of 2.7, before the UI revamp), but I still did the original Donut tutorial and finished it (I might still have the original render saved somewhere).
However, after finishing the course I stopped learning 3D and move on to other things. I still loved to see BTS footage of digital art and game developing, but wasn't trying myself, until last month where out of a sudden I decided to try again, not as a professional, but just as a hobby.
So here I am now, finally completing the 5.0 tutorial. I was satisfied with the final results, although I wish I could improve some things. First, my notebook only have a Nvidia MX250, so using Cycles was out of question (I tried to do one render as a test, but it was a 3 hour estimate, so I gave up and went with Eevee instead), and it was very slow to experiment with lighting, having faced multiple crashes, so I decided to warp it up as it is, even without shadows on the sprinkles or better bounce lighting.
I already started Grant Abbit's series, and have some ideas of scenes of my own that I plan to attempt in the next weeks. It has been pretty fun so far, and I hope I don't give up this time. What do you guys recommend as next steps?
Seeing as a lot of beginners are posting their renders following the donut tutorial, I thought I'd share one I made myself *after* doing the tutorial, so this isn't technically a tutorial piece. Was a cool opportunity to learn about hair, creating skin shaders, a bit of sculpting, and modelling teeth.
Can't wait to model more in the future ^o^
Hello everyone, this is my first final render of the donut tuto. Is there any advice to make it better ?
I am so happy that I took the first step that I've been promising myself to do, I don't know the roadmap after this tutorial , so advice would be so helpful

So I am trying to learn blender this is my 2 day progress
I (following the rituals) started with donut tut. And felt so overwhelmed by that video ngl its a great video and it has so many components in just one video it's great but also it's kind of overwhelming i tried my best to follow it through but bruhh i couldn't..
I eventually did complete 3hrs of that video and this is how my donut and cup looks like I don't have any more energy to take this project forward as I feel overwhelmed with the amount of info I am getting from this
Pls tell me how this looks and
What else videos I can follow which can be best for my learning phase !
After several hours of frustration, procrastination and millions of CTRL+Z, this is how it turned out. I don't know what I did wrong with the lighting and I'm kind of disappointed with the sprinkles myself, but fuck it.
every time I open or render this model THE ICING ALWAYS FALLS DOWN even if I readjust the icing what is happening and how do I fix it
Blender beginner here! I was trying to follow blender guru's blender donut tutorial. I got to the part where he had to make the cup handle, by adding faces.
In the video, the end of the handle connected to the cup had rounded faces
but mine had one sharp edge, while the other added faces were rounded. What happened, and how can I fix it?
